Also, **** Suarez. I thought Vidal was bitch who acted like a bully. Suarez would take your lunch money and then cry when he saw something mean written about him on a toilet stall. Thank **** he turned us down, I'd rather be where we are now than have had to watch him play for us.

i very much enjoyed the ref. he seemed very content to let the teams play and really only pulled up tackles when it was Milner and Vidal because both those blokes are garbage and dont deserve to be out there.

also, we can surely now put to bed any idea that Messi isnt the 3rd best player ever.
in his pomp, he was surrounded by utter greatness, David Villa was probaly his 'worst' teammate.

but now hes just out there with Suarez, Alba, an ageing Pique, and old as hell Basquets and a bunch of dudes. yet time and time again, he just gets it done.

poor Liverpool, spend $50bazillion on a goalie, sets up a wall worth a couple hundred million, gives Messi ONE ball width of gap to score in and he nails it.

    just amazing.

Slash at the end there could have gave us a very important goal to keep the tie alive. 3-1 down going to Anfield it's very much game on, no away goal is a huge result for Barcelona.

oh no doubt. but Dembele, Vidal, one of the midfield dudes and some other bloke butchered chances and breakaways. Geez did you see the last 2 mins, those Barca jamokes couldnt make a pass or control a ball. Poor Messi gotta stop passing to these idiots, it was brutal.

The difference in the game was Messi, everything else equalled out.

I think the ref had a great game apart from the Mane penalty shout, in my opinion that is a stone wall penalty you'll ever see. How the VAR refused to give it is beyond me. That said you could argue Matip's handball could be given by both the ref and VAR so I guess they sort of even themselves out.
I say sort of because handball can go either way with little compliants but that foul on Mane should be a penalty every single time, if it's a free kick outside the box then it is a penalty inside the box, pretty simple.

Need to stop talking about these games.

They've just been the pre-show ahead of tomorrow night's big clash - am I right Frodo!?!

The ways things have been lately, you might enjoy it more than me...

We should win at home with Valencia's style of play versus Ozil, Auba and Laca.. but unless we smash them I'm not confident of getting a win at the Mestalla.

Eintracht vs Chelsea could be a great game, Frankfurt will be at Chelsea all game and Chelsea will be able to have enough ball to put them under plenty off pressure.

Messi wouldn't make your top 5?

I think you're the one who's been smoking something.

Maradona, Di Stefano, and Carrizo are definitely ahead of him - and that's just Argentinians.

These blokes all revolutionised the game. Messi has not.

I think you're confusing innovation with ability. Someone can come up with something new but not necessarily be a great player.

Can already see this is a pointless argument though, old blokes are going to favour older players, young blokes are going to favour new ones.

I'll temper this by saying Messi and Ronaldo are the two best footballers I have ever watched play the game since i watched my first game in Italia 90.

Sorry, meant 3rd best of his generation.

The fact you had to even ask who 1 and 2 are is a sad reflection of what you've become.

Did you only have 1 channel growing up?

Cause it looks like you missed out on seeing the actual good players.

For those playing at home, the answer is Griff and Iniesta (not necessarily in that order).

I knew who the top 2 are

Was just curious who you were leaving out of your top 2 with your grand claim that Messi is the 3rd greatest of all time

    Griff

    Maradona
    Pele
    Ronaldo
    Zidane

All better footballers than Messi so he don't even make my top 6
