Marvel comes out with another home run again.

If you had of said 10 years ago that Marvel Studios would make more at Box Office than Star Wars and Lucas Films people would have laughed at you. Needless to say Disney is laughing all the way to the bank, while Marvel Studios and Lucas Films show no signs of slowing down.

Did anyone else read the story the other day of Sony trying to buy the rights to Spiderman back in the late 90's and Marvel (just coming out of bankruptcy) were like, "here you can have the rights to pretty much all our characters for $25m" and Sony were all like "nah its cool no one cares about Iron Man and Thor we'll just take Spidey".

Pretty sure whoever said no to that deal no longer works at Sony.

Yeah I read about that also and considering Disney bought Marvel Studios for $4billion, $25mil with hindsight is an absolute steal.

Funniest thing I've read about all this is a few years ago Kevin Fegie (Marvel Studios CEO) pitched to Amy Pascal (Sony Pictures CEO at the time) of the possibility of Andrew Garfields Spiderman joining the MCU. Amy Pascal replied ever so politely by throwing her sandwich at him and telling him to get the fu#k out. Fast Forward a few years and one North Korean hack on Sony Entertainment later, we now have Tom Hollands Spiderman in the MCU.

Also from what I have been reading Sony Pictures is in disarray and Spiderman is the only thing making them money. Rumors have it that Sony Entertainment are doubling down on their Electronics and Play Station brands and it won't be long until the studio department Sony Pictures are sold off.

    ive been watching some movies.

Justice League: lame lame lame. Zac Snyder seems to have turned in a quite stunning opening credits scene in 'The Watchmen' into a director career that has destroyed movie after movie after movie. This guy, and Ben Afflecks voice sound affect guy, need to be sacked ASAP if any of these comic book movies ever want a chance to be good again.

Wonder Woman: lame. special effects were beyond wack. Gal Gadot is hot though. but geez. what an awful movie.

Blade Runner 2049: visually stunning, i mean its a beautiful beautiful movie. but its boring as all hell. i never watched the first one, but man is this one a tough slog. the video image/assistant for Ryan Gosling is god damned pretty though.

Kingsman 2: wowzers. i didnt mind the first one, and it was every bit the absurd nonsense that our parents grew up on with those 70's and 80's Bond movies. But this was really really entertaining. Just a fun, original (even though it was a sequel which is a feat in itself) movie that thankfully doesnt take itself too seriously. the cameo by ********not spoilering******** music legend person was great. go watch it, its stupid but good (just like your boy Plague).

Baby Driver: whoa. this movie was boring. go watch Lock Stock or Way of the Gun if you want to see it done correctly. this was a not a good movie, despite how much people wanted it to be.

i think there were others, but they were the standouts, either by their stinkyness or their greatness.

I enjoy the Marval universe movies for what they are. I've no idea about the comic books etc but am enjoying the whole story development.

I thought the villan in the Black Panther movie was one of the best they've done.

    There you go.
Awkward, absurd and just plain weird.
    Colin Farrell is brilliant.

Agree, there needs to be more of this type of stuff out there.

    Relax, its spoiler free.

    but

    Avengers: Infinity war.......is pretty epic.
as stated before, i rate about 30% of those Marvel movies, the rest are pretty boring and formulated.

but this one is amazing. we need to put a time limit on when we can talk about it, but theres nothing in the movie you can really talk about without giving it all away.

so go see it NOW if you want to see it.
Because spoilers WILL get out, and it wont be as cool to see.

believe me, the big moments are big in the greater MCU.

    nope, nope nope.

    wait up.
    hold on just a minute.

****mildly spoilery but only an overall thing nothing specific*******
in my excitement i started reading into the movie and pretty much everything and everyone assures me that the major events of the first movie are going to be 'reversed' in the 2nd.

this takes away any sort of 'holy shit' type moments.

looks like this one is going on the pile of lame ass Marvel movies.

shame, they could have really done something awesome.

if this isnt the case ill apologies when Part 4 comes out.

    Cant spell LAME without MARVEL.

Anyone seen Super Troopers 2 yet??
I'm not expecting anything too cerebral, just going in to it expecting it to be the base-level schlock comedy that the Broken Lizard guys have put out in the past..

    Ok ok ok.

    **Spoiler Alert**

It was still a holy shit he actually did it moment.
Now think about it for a second, Thanos had to sacrifice the thing he loves most to use the soul gem. So... if this is going to be reversed just think about what is going to have to be sacrificed.

New Ant-Man and the Wasp trailer dropped today and the Marvel juggernaut keeps rolling on. Disneys acquisition of Fox should be finalised in 12 months and Marvel will have the rights to most of their characters back.

With Infinity War Marvel has taken the mantle from Star Wars as the biggest movie franchise in history.
