This email came through to our Club from Russell Henry and there are a few surprises regarding what Clubs have not registered for the 2011 season.

But I supose with a couple of ID 1 Clubs not re-registering it does make some room at the top for other clubs to step up.

*Afternoon,

Thanks to those clubs who have forwarded applications for the 2011 ID Competition by the closing date as per my request below.
To those Clubs who have submitted suggestions towards the format of the ID Divisions in coming seasons; I will collate all documents into similar suggestions & proposals and put them forward to the ID Review Panel & will forward final submissions for 2011. The question asked most either direct to me or at the ground is who & how many Clubs are being dropped from NEW FM, answer to date:

• The NEW FM will have a max of 10 Clubs.
• Therefore ID will increase by 2 Clubs minimum ( ?? up to 4)
• NNSWF will announce the set up & successful Clubs after GF’s.

To those Clubs listed below, I can only gather by your failure to send in your application, that you do not intend to enter your Club in the 2011 ID Competition. On behalf of the other Clubs & myself I wish you all the best in All Age next season.

 COOKS HILL UFC
 NELSON BAY SENIOR

“I am now in a position to confirm that in accordance with NNSWF’s Premier Competition Business Plan, that the maximum number of clubs invited to participate in 2011 and 2012 are as follows;
NBN State League: 8
NewFM 1st Division: 10
All clubs seeking to participate in NNSWF’s Premier Competitions (male) in 2011 and 2012 will be required to complete an application form and return it to NNSWF by close of business on Friday 4 June. Applications will be assessed against NNSWF’s Premier Competition Criteria and the clubs judged by NNSWF to best meet the criteria or have the potential to best meet the criteria will be invited to compete in NNSWF’s Premier Competitions in 2011 and 2012 by way of a Participation Agreement.
I acknowledge that change is often difficult, and the prospect of not being invited to participate in competitions, which some clubs have contested for many years may be confronting and in some cases heart wrenching. However, as stated in previously NNSWF takes its leadership position very seriously and as a result has a responsibility to establish and maintain a premier competition structure which provides highly competitive opportunities for elite players, whilst also providing a showcase for Football throughout our region.”

This is an excerpt of a memo from David Eland, CEO of NNSW Football detailing structures for the 2011-2012 seasons.
As noted elsewhere by me in other threads I question the value of the 8 team competition and the 23 and 18’s as the lower grades in the State League. The standard of football and competition is poorer and many of the better players are now playing in the lower divisions. As such it is populated by not so elite players and hardly provides a showcase.
I would welcome a summary of the reason why this structure will deliver the best outcomes. One would hope it is based on sound research and factual information rather than, as I suspect someone’s vision or belief.

The newly named New England Mutual Premier League (formerly New England Credit Union PL) is starting to gain some focus in the Northern Inland Football zone. This year has seen the inclusion of Joeys FC from Inverell into the competition, this brings the total teams to 10 for the 2010 season.

The first round doesn't start until the 17th April, but a Pre-Season comp (NIF Cup) has been put in place starting in just over a week on the 13th March.

Also, a few teams from the Northern Inland zone have nominated to play in the new NNSW State Cup. North Armidale and Tamworth FC from the Premier League have nominated along with Tamworth Local Senior team Kootingal Kougars. These squads play the first match on the 27th March in a no chances knock-out competition!

Not sure how many people on here know about this, but my club Belmont Tingira Titans playing out of Baxter Field, Marks Point put forward last year to Macquarie Football to start up a Friday night all age competition (open to all ages).

We have at least one team interested in playing in this competition from our club, but we need a minimum 6 teams (from Macquarie, Newcastle, H.Valley) for a competition to get started.

I also know that they are trying to get an Over 45's competition started as well for 2010 on a Friday night.

Is anyone here interested in playing in a Friday night all age competition or know of any clubs thinking about fielding a team.

Cheers
