I have no real issue with John Hutchinson being a **** on the field, every team at some stage needs a bloke to put the opposition off their game. If playing dirty is the way he contributes to his household budget, then so be it.
But when the bloke consistently behaves in a way towards opposing fans that serves only to insight anger and aggression than the FFA need to act.
We are at a point in this country where ‘old sokkah’ is slowly making way for ‘new football.’ The media (as we well know) are only looking for a chance to drag up ‘riot’ in a headline. The FFA have security guards and cops all over the active fans to try and avoid things getting ugly, yet have a loose cannon on the field.
Last nights antics on fulltime, when Hutchinson booted the ball into the opposition fans in yet another show of disrespect, is just one example of a growing list of stupid, stupid shit he has done towards the crowd to incite violence.
It is time for the FFA to step in and start dealing with the root of the problem and not the symptoms.
We, as active fans, get asked to point out trouble makers amongst us in the crowd… how about some recognition that one of the main trouble makers is actually on the field.
I have no doubt Hutcho loves being hated by us, just as I am sure that Joel loves being hated by opposition fans, but players should be hated because of the way they play and the impact they have on a game (e.g. Joel), not solely by the way they treat the fans (e.g. Hutcho).
I can’t think of an F3 derby he has had a huge impact on (I could be wrong), however he is still the most hated Mariners player for his post-game antics, and that pretty much sums the bloke up.
It is time for the FFA to act and punish John Hutchinson, before it gets out of hand and football is back in the headlines for all the wrong reasons.
Well done Griff for sticking up for us all.
Praise be to you.

you’ve hit the nail on the head there gary.
Oh yeah, Hutchinson is a runaway freight train – his absurd antics are really going to be headline news across the country when he incites a riot! A little far fetched don’t you think? Anyway, you write as if you are genuinely concerned about this, when clearly you just hate John Hutchinson like the rest of us. Get over the loss and get over the post-game incidents – if anything can be learned from the whole thing, Joel just showed us he is not captain material.
Ive seen keepers sent for doing the same thing, but that was in Spain where they appreciate diving as part of the game.
Seriouly, harden thye f$%k u and get over it mate.
I still havent found a decent replay of the final scuffle, but if you want to talk about an instigator look at JG, definately not captain material, nor role model material for any of the young kids at the game watching last night.
So what he kicked a ball into the crowd, I dont like seeing Griffiths run up and start shouldering him, not a real good example from the bloke who has apparently turned another leaf after his last suspension. Poor form Joel, leave it to the ref.
you clearly missed the point.
the issue is players antagnosing fans, and then fans copping the brunt of increased security.
The FFA need to tell Hutcho to pull his head in.
They need to tell all players who antagonise the fans to pull their heads in.
When the shit really does hit the fan, when the passionate supporters have truly had enough and react poorly, it will be the game brought into disrepute, and it will be th fans who will be blamed.
Hutcho has be antagonising the fans for seasons, and I know it goes back the other way, but who here is the professional? who here is impacting on hundreds of fans? who here is in the best position to stop the situation escilating?
In terms of crowd managemnt it surley would be far far easier to tell hutcho to pull his head in and tone down his antics than it would be to employ increased security and police and attempt to modify the behaviour of hundreds of fans who are being provoked by a player.
If hutcho had scored the winner and had something to stick up us, then it wouldn’t be such an issue. He really should let his football do the talking.
Noticed he hasn’t made himself available to the media as yet, where as Joel has stood up to his actions and explained why he did what he did.
It’s not about Hutcho.
Maybe its not up to FFA to to something about Hutchos poor behaviour, but his own club and coach that really should have a look at Hutcho antics. His actions by kicking the ball into the crowd at the end of the game has inadvertantly cost his own team to have two players suspended. Wasn’t it Lawrie that said CCM had a no dickhead policy? Then surly its up to them to tell Hutcho to pull his head in.
