My prediction is a 2-1 loss.

Despite Ben Sigmund beign suspended for the game, the Nix have a more-than-adequate replacement in Boxhall. Zane will hopefully have learnt from the last visit that Carlos Hernandez cannot be given the time or space that he was afforded last time. We need a job done on him, similar to what Zads did to Engelaar in the last game.

What is concerning for me is the ability, or lack there-of, to score against the Phoenix. We average a little under one per game when compared to their almost 2 per game. The Nix, however, aren't as proficient at Hunter Stadium. THere is also the point that they have beaten us the last 3 times they have played us in Newcastle.

Both teams have the finals spot still in their sites, and should either team lose then the chances of making it to the semis are pretty much gone with 3 games left. A draw won't help either team so expect attacking play and open spaces.

I simply think the Nix will be too classy for us.

Wellington $4.00 for win.
Draw $3.40.

Plague Jnr will be at the game (still never seen a Jets win).

You will get a Wello win or draw at about $2 which covers all bases and doubles your money.

Bet with your head, not over it.

I vaguely remember Tarek missing a penalty about 4-5 seasons ago, was that against Wellington or am I confused?

True story, took Robbie Waterhouse on one day in Sydney was 2/2 and had my best tip of the day running. Loaded up and sat back ready to collect as my donkey was clear on the home straight then this 3 legged thing ran it down and was paying something like 40/1. Later in the day I was walking past him and he gave me a look that said "yeah I fixed that race just to teach you a lesson you little shit".
Since that day no one in his family has gotten a red cent out of me.
**** the Waterhouse family.

Note: back in the day he had his daughter Kate helping out on track. She is stunning. Like, really really stunning.

Anyway, go Jets.

That's where I think your wrong WLG.

Nix will win but scrape by.

Those Jets will make us suffer a painful defeat.

Control game not score, concede against the run of play, dominate for a long period, equalise, then push on for the winner and make it look like it is a matter of time before they take lead then conceed from a late attack completely against the run of play

You know it makes sense.

Jets 1 Nix 2

It was Griffo FFS.

Get you eyes fixed.

This is how those ****ing lies started about Griffos great goal where he ran the length of the pitch and toe poked it with the outside of the foot whilst Nick Carle ran interference in the last minute to win a game and that other heinous lie about Griffo not scoring the winner in the GF

Seriously, you know it wasn't Mitchell cos it didn't end up hitting a passing car on Turton Rd, Mitchell would have hoofed it which is why hell will freeze over before we see anything like that outta him... Now, specsavers jokes aside, what a great night - shame we couldn't have gone into the gyppos match with that mindset from the outset, massive boost for our confidence etc etc, but hope we keep it up, not just a one-off

Oh aye, as stated I knew the Jets would win tonight so the little man was given a start.
Absolutely gave it the massive ones when Griff scored.
Legit story, through no prompting from myself, he asked if he'll get to wear #29 when he makes his debut for the Jaffas tomorrow.

Still can't work out how they are winning the comp. Don't really watch many of their games yet watch them play us and they are ****ing shit and easy to deal with. Stack 3 blokes on the left stack 3 blokes on the right. Mark up and let them have the ball and crowd them out when needed. Play on the counter and nail them

Two of the completely insignificant things that irked me today were Fox Sports social media today.

First they tweeted "All over in Newcastle, a thumping win for @NewcastleJetsFC that @SydneyFC looking over their shoulder"... which suggests we are chasing Sydney and might overtake them rather than we HAVE overtaken them and this win puts us in front.

Then they tweeted "Jets win puts them into equal 6th spot". No it ****ing doesn't, you cretins. There is no "equal" spots. It's outright decided by goal difference.

How the **** can these idiots be so completely and utterly useless?

If Carlos & Signed were there, the result would have been much different. But in saying that, I was really not surprised about the result. There were heaps of doomsdayers after last week but as I said then, I saw heaps of positive Signs in the derby and even thought we dominated pretty much between their 2nd and 3rd goal.

Zane has us going good. Credit where it's due. Griff & Carney are fxxxing excellent - having people who are interested in keeping the ball and being level-headed with it has done us wonders. They both probably don't run as much as they used to but are both amazing for us. How good was Griff actually caring about the fans, and even forcing heskey to celebrate with the Squadron ffs!

Brillante is killing it. So is kew. And my man Josh Mitchell is playing for the shirt, and going unreal.

Still not the biggest gallaway fan but he does enough.

Bk was excellent - probably my favourite game by him. I didn't have a heart attack when The ball came near him Like I used to. Something I noticed though - I thought his best feature used to be his constant talking and ordering of the defence. But he was very quiet. I put it down to not starting for ages, and a confidence thing. I am one of Biraz biggest fans but I can't fault BK and therefore don't think he should be dropped until he stuffs his chance up.

Zenon and rubez bust their gut, they must do an easy 10km each game. Them engines!!

How are we scoring from corners and set pieces ffs :rof:

Credit where it's due - bridges scored a peach, and had a couple of good balls. But I still have a major headache about the bloke at times - how has he been a professional this long but not grasped the idea of not giving away ridiculous, unnevessary fouls in their half? Why does he actually refuse to even look at the ball, let alone contest one, if the ball Looks to be anywhere above chest height? And some of his balls were embarassingly poor. I won't credit him with an assist either btw. But tbh I thought it was a disc race that we were 3 up and didn't give young ox a solid run at 10, thought the sub was poor to start with

Good win. Wd zane, wd players for playing for the shirt. I still hate the idea of top 6 But I'm not against zane getting re-signed so would be happy for us the make the finals if it meant that would happen.

Typical jerks.

I usually leave straight after the final whistle but last night I wanted to savour the moment and acknowledge the players for our biggest win ever. As the team came around to the Eastern stand where I sit, they all politely clapped back and acknowledged the support....but kept there distance. I want to mention two players first who broke "protocol" and actually went over and mingled with the supporters; Ben Kennedy and Josh Mitchell...a big thumbs up! The other player is one who has returned to the club and his reasons for coming back have been questioned on social media. This player not only mingled with the supporters but was getting photos taken and signing stuff and really taking his time to genuinely show his appreciation. That player was #29.....Joel Griffiths!!!

So would I:sup: Winning is everything.

It is just a nice feeling to have played with desire passion and enthusiasm and just blitzed our opponent in all areas and deservingly won and won well. Not expecting it every week but it would be good to do it a few times a season more than the standard once a year effort.

Was quite enjoyable to sit back relax and take it all in during the last 20-30 mins with us having the points already in the bag. Was a rather unique vibe walking out of the ground with people in such great spirits that I probably haven't felt since the other year we raped Smurfs away and won 5-2 and were that dominant the only sad thing was we didn't win by more

But being a glass is half empty kind of guy the pain and suffering these blokes and the club inflicts upon us makes the times when the good times roll around so much sweeter.

Watching us get thumped/beaten and the feeling of desolation it brings makes the times when you are winning mean that little bit more. Must be hard for the bandwagon jumpers jumping on and off all the time. Never quite experiencing what those who stick through thin and thinner get out of it when things turn good.

Fair enough point re: Rooney. I was using it as an example of a goal that upon replay wasn't precisely hit with 100% flawless technique.

Can't we just accept, however, that it was a really good goal no matter how it got there?

Why do we have to bag the bloke because he scored a deflected goal? He could have done that and chopped down Jacob a Burns on his way to headbutt Hutcho and people still wouldn't be satisfied.
