Actually really confident we can get up in this game. 2 very important home fixtures in a row to hopefully get us in the 6.

Jets will be absolutely fired up for this game after blowing the lead on Sunday night. We have also had a good record against the victory here in recent seasons and haven't been beaten against them here since season 5.

I'm actually thinking a 3-0 win to the jets (Tagz double and a Joel griffo goal) remembering we had our largest ever win the last home game we played. Bring it on!

Like **** we will Q MAN

We are the Newcastle Jets who shit on our fans regularly with misfortune.

No way in the world will our finals fate be sealed in piss weak fashion like a loss at home 2 rounds out from the play offs. No we will win to fill us full of false hope and only to have those dreams shattered in an inept performance in the final round when it matters.

We are not fortunate enough to go quietly into the night capitulating the easy way with the least amount of suffering for the supporters. We do it the hardest way.
Add in the fact the FFA will probably be keen on seeing the top 6 battle go to the wire with Sydney winning of course you can expect some dodgy reffing to get us over the line if need be

Taggart will score one but miss 10 one-on-one chances. Kennedy won't try and save any of their 3 goals.

It's a pretty good record. However, broken down to Gary v1 to Gary v2

Gary v1 - 6-1-1, including a record of two wins against the season 2 dominating victory team

Gary v2 - 4-1-3. Not quite as good! However, that's still better than the others.

Agree with your reasoning about the Jets. It is like them to string out the pain as much as possible.

Disagree with your reasoning re the FFA. The FFA want Sydney FC in the finals to maximise ticketing revenue in the finals, with a possible juicy final between WSW and Sydney FC if they can swing it. They won't care one bit what happens with regular season crowds as they don't get any of that money.

So for that reason, I am predicting that the FFA will kill it off early with some dodgy refereeing. Most probably through a send-off in the first 20 minutes of either Griffo, Zadkovich or Jaliens. They simply can't risk it against a depleted Melbourne Victory.

Melbourne scored from a set piece and a penalty. Other than that that did sweet fook all.
And yet, people are saying Mitchell was shit ? Unbelievable. The damage was done well before the penalty was given - had he not done anything the goal would have come from open play anyway.

Thompson, Troisi, Finkler, Milligan, Leijer, Rogic - pretty shit tonight and yet people here want to bag out our lads for having a draw against a team higher on the table.

However, any coach that replaces their three most experienced players with part time A-league players doesn't deserve a contract.

Zane learned absolutely nothing from last week - he simply went from one extreme to the other.

I feel sorry for the players, because I thought they put in a big effort tonight.

Nothing for Zads to be pissed about except on himself after tonight. That free kick he gave away directly resulted in Victory being able to get the ball down the other end for the park for the pen. The Victory player was going knowhere yet Zads had one of his needless brain explosions.

What kind of fool takes off his two most dominant players when they are neither exhausted or injured and replaces them with players of far inferior ability? Carney owned that right side of Victory's defence and Heskey was immense. Mitchell was weak as was Galloway but apart from them the boys put in a good performance.

Victory offerred very little tonight and we couldn't put them away. We got what we deseverved aided and abetted by poor replacement policy.

BK really is weak with his ground clearances and his long bombs are often kicked with him outside the box. That will bite us one day. Overall, he was little troubled tonight apart from picking the ball out of the net. Wouldn't be surprised to find Birra back next week.

Rogis is a soft co*k that goes down way too easily for such a big unit.

The ground is a disgrace.

While I think taking Heskey off was a massive mistake. Carney did have his hand up asking to be taken off. Judging by the scramble on the bench, the Carney substitution wasn't planned.

Was Griffiths injured? I didn't pick up on it, but a few around me commented that his substation looked to be due to injury.

On face value I think the subs were naive tactically, but Carneys was definitely a forced sub. It was plainly obvious when the experience was taken off.

Griffo looked like he was holding a back injury of some sort. Bloke looked ****ed about 5 mins before he went off.

As for the reffing couldn't give a **** about the penalty as it was cast iron but have some serious concerns about the standard of reffing.

Firstly how did Traore stay on the park for a studs up waist high lunge in an aggressive manner at the Griff??

Secondly how did the bloke Heskey got booked for hacking not get sent for lashing out on the ground and kicking him?? Hello David Beckham for one

Thirdly after we took a throw in the second half and Zads caught them unawares and was intentionally dragged down when through and about to race into the box and we got a FK can someone explain how that is not a yellow?? It was cynical and a moral

As for us not winning lets just blame our shit **** coaching team who chose to sit back the entire second half and allowed the field to be stretched whilst we halfheartedly chased the ball. As a result we allowed a team who should be tiring after midweek visit to Japan to not have to run chasing the ball. If you are gonna sit in condense the field and then race through on the ****er. We left massive space and then never ran forward

2-1 up at HT and we should have won that by 3-4 goals and ****ed it up

My binoculars say that Griff did receive treatment as soon as he come off. Ice pack to the side. Rib area my guess.

Traore studs up on Griff were in the side/ribs area btw. Then again Griff had been carrying a rib injury or something previous.

Not actually joking hey.

He was attempting an unorthodox clearance as he had been bundled over by Thompson (not a foul, just incidental contact). Sure as shite if Mitchell had "played it safe" and not swung a boot at the ball as he did, you and everyone else would be saying he should have done something.

Can't win with some people on here.

How about all the other times he did things right?

How about Kew letting Milligan get away from him on that corner they equalised from? Nobody is bagging him out (nor should they, as on balance of play Kew was pretty good as usual)

Thomas477

What was the bench again?

Virgilli, Oxborrow, Goodwin and Ward?

We need to find a nice balance of youth and experience. Having Griff, Carney AND heskey off at the same time wasn't good. Maybe we could have used Bridges coming on to replace Heskey just for his experience?

Bk's distribution tonight as always was superior to anything Birra has managed throughout his career.

Birra struggles to keep the ball in bounds let alone finding Heskey's head.

BK should be in goals next week. He wasn't responsible for either of the goals and overall put in a solid effort.

It's was stupidity from Mitchell we had a chance of saving them but gave them a goal.
We played well and dominated by Zane killed us by replacing players who could have killed the game
I also think Taggart and Oxborrow should have taken those chances in the second half.
If he was going to replace Carney seeing as we were dominating the midfield wouldn't Goodwin be the change.

Bridges was obviously saving himself for next week, so in the last game of the season he can do a lap of honour and take in his "supporters" love.
