Club are getting serious. They were Gary's boys.

Well done club.

All the best to those three, however. Thanks for their efforts while they were here

Arnie in, Zane assistant, Andrew Clark s&c coach will inevitably happen.

Also everyone should be prepared for the inevitable - Biraz will go overseas and we will sign Vukovic

I reckon Bridges will get a role too.

Hmmmm Vukovic. Need time to get over that one...

So we want a former Gypo legend as our S&C coach.
Arnold is ok but Clark played for the scum and would have hated the jets. He is a born and bred Gypo unlike Sasho and the others we learned to love

Do you guys think Bob Catlin was a bad gk coach? I've legit have no idea.

Dodd and Deans gone though I don't see as a bad thing. Would rather someone more experienced for the strength and conditioning coach and I'd be expecting either Bridges or Zane to get assistant manager. Would prefer Zane and Bridges go into a coaching role and work from the ground up rather than jumping straight to the top.

If we do get Arnold though, none of this could happen as he'll probably bring in his own.

Not knocking Clarkes abilities as the bloke was pretty fit through his career and had the Gypos in tip top shape. That being said felt Doddy was doing a pretty good job and had the team pretty fit. Only issue I had with Doddys work is that it took far too long in my opinion to get the Griff fit.

The rest of them though seemed to be going fine and fitness wasn't an issue for our ineptitiude

Craig Deans leaves Newcastle Jets By JOSH LEESON April 24, 2014, 5:19 p.m.

THE Newcastle have sacked long-term assistant coach Craig Deans today as part of a major shake-up of their off-field operations.

Deans along with goalkeeper coach Bob Catlin and strength and conditioning boss Karl Dodd were told today they would be leaving the club effective immediately.

The Jets are currently interviewing for a head coach and this latest move only adds to speculation that the club is set to appoint someone other than interim boss Clayton Zane.

It is expected this latest move frees up space for Zane to return to an assistant’s role.

In a statement of the Jets’ website, CEO Robbie Middleby said: ‘‘We thank Craig, Bob and Karl for their commitment and hard work during their time with the club.

‘‘All have played an important role in the development of our team and players and we wish them all the best for their future careers.’’

Deans was the final figure remaining at the Jets from the debut A-League season in 2005-06

While I support the manager choosing the coaching staff, generally I would have expected Arnie to have at least met the guys before declaring their incompetence. Seems strange that they would have done this despite Arnie not signing on the dotted line as yet.

In this case I disagree. They've been here too long, some under two failed managers. Time to go. I'd rather the next coach bring in their own people.

I'm not saying don't sack them, I'm saying wait and let the manager let them go. I suppose I'm just talking semantics, but it just appears the upper management is once again trying to control the football department, instead of letting the manager control that department.

Thomas - this would have been a decision by the new manager. I daresay arnie is signed and the club are holding of the official announcement but in the meantime are clearing what Arnie wants cleared for him to come in

Hope so, but if they've signed someone why wait? Every day is a day closer to losing Griff, Carney etc. sign the coach ASAP and then start resigning the key players. I don't like this managing from the shadows crap.

That being said, Deans is gone!

I wouldn't say this is a decision by the manager, probably more a decision to entice a new manager. Perhaps Arnie intended on doing this, and to show that they are in full support they went along and did it to let him know that they will do whatever they want for him as long as it brings us at the very least a spot in the top 6 and to get him away from Sydney

I remember working with Jim Catlin, Bobby's brother.

One day Jim came in to work saying Bobby had had a massive falling out with a bloke named David Moyes. At the time the name meant nothing.

Bobby sacked...... Moyes is coming.

That, or Arnie. With Clarke as strength and conditioning.

Would like to point out that I am personally to blame for all this with my inquisition into the coaching situation earlier in the week:

Correct me if I'm wrong, but as it stands, Bridges and Deans both hold the title of "Assistant coach", and surely Zane would want to at least be made an assistant if he were to be demoted.

If a new coach is brought in, then at least one of Deans, Bridges, or Zane needs to be sacked, probably more. That's not even taking into account the fact that a new coach might want his own assistant.

What about Pascoe's current role as youth team coach? Is that just temporary or what? Seems like he always pops up in our youth set up, but he's been around in his latest stint for at least a 4 or 5 months now (again, correct me if I'm wrong).

In any case, the whole coaching structure has been a mess for years now. If I were I certain CEO I would be sorting this out right now...

Writing was on the wall for Deans when he advocated for Gallagay to get some first team action over a true local lad and much better player Jon Griffths #justice4griff

Can't be as later on I pointed out that Middleby demoted Deans to a role he reneged on actually doing

Middleby obviously reads foz and noticed Deans had not been punished for his sins and acted accordingly for dereliction of duty

Ps Robbie if you want more tips on how to be a good CEO I will fire away

First job next week Sign Griffo
Second job next week Sign a coach who isn't a ****ing gypo

Complete these tasks and I will then give you more pointers
