A question for all you who watch most of the Youth teams NYL and NPL games.

Which players in the Jets Youth team or in the emerging Jets are capable of playing at A-League level and which are capable of going further?
Also what time frame do you think it take these players to break into the first team?

Lundy plays left wing in the 4~3~3 gve loves
Is right footed ala Ribery

Cowburn Lundy Whiteside and Reece Pappas.

Probably only prospects

Lot in their that will be nbn soon enough as they ain't Hal material

No one is really standing out then again kale did and lock what happened there

Reece Papas who plays for Stoke? He's not much of a prospect for the Jet youth anymore...

what about Pavicevic he seems pretty good in the limited time I saw the youth play?

Waller is a bot young and on the periphery of the jets yoof team

Bit early to judge

Don't rate pavicevic. For Hal

Reece Pappas played midweek for them either that or they have found his identical twin

I hope under Stubbins that Youth team players are given a bit of HAL experience from time to time....even if it is 10-15 minutes off the bench. Last season was a disgrace in the way GVE and also Zane treated players in the Youth side. I would say we were probably one of the only clubs who didn't blood any new Youth team players for the season just completed. In the end we gave a player at the end of his career these cameo roles....and we still came 7th!

That's not entirely true. Oxborrow got 26 whole minutes across 5 games!

Completely agreed stopper.

Also keep in mind that this was a youth team that finished 2nd in the NYL, so (at least on paper) we had the 2nd best youth stocks in the league to be drawing on.

RE the Kale situation, if I were a young striker with potential who wanted to make it in the A-League there's no way I'd want to play with the Jets Youth. How many goals did this kid score for them over the seasons? And yet he wasn't deemed good enough to displace a retiring 35 year old with a terrible scoring record in recent times.

Ha Ha, actually Oxborrow is listed as a senior squad member and anyway made his HAL debut in the previous season against Perth

Get over it you sooks.

Not being a sook just stating facts about how this club is probably the worst in the HAL in regards to promoting Youth players and testing them at the senior level.
Wasn't that the whole point of having a Youth League in the first place?
We have in previous seasons promoted Youth players but for whatever reason last season the club seemed to have other agendas!
Bridges has been mentioned, I can also add Ward....what special value did he bring to the club that a Youth player such as Bradbery couldn't have provided?

This would probably happen more if the league introduced a 7-man bench

Hopefully the arse raping we get in Brazil will not be brushed off by the "Well we were up against 3 great sides it was to be expected" an will see some positive changes to our National League/Coaching etc to try and remedy some of the issues we as a footballing nation need to push through and combat to be more successful and competitive into the future.

Fear the FFA will gloss over it though and not learn some valuable lessons that will be available
