What away games are people hoping to get to this year?

Hopefully production of the membership fridge magnets will be in full drive after it gets announced.

I think a few will be hoping for this. Im doubting it will be at home since our ground is being redone but that just means a great excuse for a weekend away!

Seeing as how the draw usually makes no sense, I'll guarantee we cop two games against him, probably both down there, and he will fist-pump us..

Going to do a Melbourne trip.

Going to try and do FFA Cup away games rather than A-league ones anyway. So likely to be late season, second last round would be nice. Thanks FFA

Would be nice to miraculously get Coast, Syd, Westies x2 each away. Make it 20 odd games for the season for our fans within NSW

Will definately be aiming for Wello away

We will also be looking at the fixtures and organising a "Tour of Duty" for a saturday away interstate fixture to try to get everyone along to.

Will try and aim for about 3 interstate away games next season. Likely the Brisbane game, at least one Melbourne game and hopefully a return to Adelaide.

Potential 4 Melbourne away games seems way too much, hopefully we score another double header down there.

I also hope we score a central coast game at home early next season, preferably round one Saturday 5:30pm or 7:45pm kickoff.

Don't the FFA make it so if you get two away games one year against a particular team, you only get one the next? Or am I making that up?

I think they've mentioned that but I also recall Perth complaining about having two away trips to Team X in consecutive seasons.

Depends on how it fits in for their darling teams.

Hoping for several NSW away games in the first part of the season when playing away due to turf works, so that at least some supporters can get to the games, the ones who can't make interstate trips.
I would've liked to see us vs Melb City with Villa at home, but it's looking likely this will be away given the timing of his guest stint and given our turf upgrade. I think both were scheduled to finish in December so there might still be a possibility - especially since City may have already played most of the other teams by then, but FFA will probably **** us over and give City a second game vs another team (other Melb) before they give us a first game vs them during Villa's stint.

Hoping to make it to at least one interstate game at some point, probably after the asian cup break.

I'm hoping FFA isn't stupid and they will let City play everybody before Villa leaves just so that they can get the most money out of his guest stint. Majority of people who otherwise wouldn't go to melbourne may consider it with him there

Agreed. Lucky my next door neighbour suggested glueing the 12/13 one, to the 11/12 one and it was as good as gold.

I love living next door to Richard dean Anderson.

so Villa signed, what, last week? i'm thinking the draw was well on the way to being sorted before Villa signed. bit harsh to blame FFA for not entirely re-doing the draw, including negotiating with stadiums etc to accommodate a new signing.

Nah, no chance, he's wicked to have over for beer. So many great stories, and if you misplace the bottle opener it hardly matters.

The only problem is he keeps pinching the garden hose and all my paper clips. He assures me he's making a boat.

Nix away twice and Glory away twice...bit harsh!

Happened the season before last as well - no team should get both of those away trips twice in the one season.

Again we have a dominance of 5pm home kickoffs, with four Friday night home games.

Noted that Smurfs and FFA have hijacked Melb Citeh's debut and sent it to Sydney rather than Heart's long suffering fans.

Nice to have Gosford first up - can be treated as a home game, hope Flores is fit and tears them one !

Given the times of the games I'd say a few people will be looking to move from the eastern to the western stand.

RIP Bay 3. I'm heading west.

EDIT: The Mrs works on saturdays so she's not going to be impressed with the draw.

Just on this - is the Squadron trial move to Bay 60 becoming permanent for the season ahead?

Looking forward to this. The 3-0 defeat last year is a memory i'll always have in my head. I spent the game with my uncle near the gypo brass band with my mrs and youngest daughter. Didn't know at the time it would be the last time i seen him. Annurism (spelling?) on good friday and passed away just over a week later. Just wish it was on the weekend of the 28th (his birthday weekend) when they will be spreading his ashes. I'll more than likely be there for this one.

Just on this - is the Squadron trial move to Bay 60 becoming permanent for the season ahead?Yes it is. Response was positive and there wasnt very much opposition at all.
We will be in bay 60 for this season, and barring any huge issues, for the foreseeable future.

I'll tell you now 5pm is a crap time for families who are used to 6ish dinner time. Either take a huge picnic and wolf it down during halftime or pay a second mortgage to get a frank on a bun with a drizzle of sauce and mid strength detergent to wash it down.

I favour taking the family out for a feed after the game, but they won't wait till 7.30.

3pm - dinner after....7.30pm dinner before.

I wonder if the saturday 5pm starts are because the FFA hate us or it is a consequence of having to accomadate our schedule due to the resurfacing of the pitch?

Either way, I won't be getting a family ticket to go to four games.

It's because we aren't a big TV draw. That's it.

Probably due to the fact that nobody watches games at 5pm on saturdays.

FFA logic.

3pm - dinner after....7.30pm dinner before.

Perhaps in the 3.5 months between now and the start of the season, you could systematically move your regular dinner time of 6pm by 5 mins per week. They wouldn't notice an incremental change like this quite as much as a holus-bolus approach.

17 weeks x 5 mins = 85 minutes. That gets you to 7:25pm.
