Anyone else read this as

"Eastern upper closed, moving the bodies to the Eastern lower so we don't look empty"

Or is it just me?

What "operating methods" beside food and beverage closures could it be?

We've all shed a few of them over the years supporting this team...

So that only convinces me further that the upper tier will be totally closed.

Good decision if true. Should only be opened if it pours down rain or a 20,000+ crowd.

With the amount of afternoon games in summer, it's a great idea to move everyone out of the shade and into the sun.

KUTGW management.

The way the statement reads makes it sounds like hunter stadium could have decided you don't get full access at the current rate, meaning the more areas you want open the more they will charge for game day hire, other stadiums have similar deals think gcu towards the end

Always the western stand.

Maybe they should hand out free water bottles for these afternoon games, problem solved.

Until all the seats are sold in the western stand, and the eastern stand is empty. Then what ?
Overall, 5:30pm Saturday games are a disgrace and will see many families and people that work Saturdays unable to attend.

Take out a bay of seats out of the Andrew johns stand and make a beach bar with a blow up pool or something.

The cricket have done it.

I think its a good decision.

The club shouldn't unnecessarily waste money. There is more than enough capacity in other areas of the ground to cater for everyone. This isn't a Clive Palmer type scenario, most venue hirers will keep sections closed until it absolutely necessary. In fact, I was surprised when they allowed Memberships in that part of the stadium.

I personally wouldn't care if everyone crammed into the Western Stand. I don't think it really matters what the cameras see. If you watch a football game for long enough you will eventually work out that the seats in the shade are full.
