Anyone know when tickets go on sale?
More importantly when tickets for Rd2 go on sale and what's the process of getting away tickets now this new system is in place?

MFKS
22-06-2014, 02:22 AM
Thought the new system was for active support only??

Last year the tickets only went on sale a few weeks before the first game.

Regardless of Villa playing for Heart there will be plenty of tickets anyway

Premy
22-06-2014, 07:32 AM
The way I interpreted it was that you need to be a member for active support home and away. Given the away bay is for active support you will need to be a member to get tickets to that area.
I hope I'm wrong and not that it will matter to me much but my missus is coming to the Melbourne game and she's tossing up weather to renew her membership this year, not to mention the various Novacastrians that live in Melbourne that will want to sit in the away area.

I think you might be surprised being Villa's first game in Melbourne I think it will go close to selling out, think back 2 years ago for ADP V Heskey first game hyped up.

Superdylan
22-06-2014, 08:53 AM
Yeah I'm thinking this round 2 game will be a sellout of around 26,000. Not sure premy I hope we can get our best ever away contigent to Melbourne for this game.

If you can't get down for the weekend get down the day 6am flight Sunday, flight back 8pm this game IMO should be the game where we target as many people as possible to a jets interstate game next season.

Here's one for the well travelled.

I'll be going from Sydney on Saturday morning as we'll be in Sydney Friday night.

If you can get dropped off and picked up at Newcastle airport to avoid the airport parking, Newcastle is a fine option should be able to get a return for around $100-$150. Haven't even looked at flights yet.

Maybe we could plan a few things down there have a pub to meet up at, get a friendly game organized at a local park somewhere on the Saturday, ect. Put a few post up in the local foz encouraging local club's to have there EOS piss up down there and join in? Just a thought.

Good thinking mate espicially with a muck around game. Best pub down there to drink at pregame in my opinion is the precinct hotel on swan st as it's quite conveniently close to Richmond station. Really good beer garden and really good menu (had dumpings there back in march).

Other ideas maybe a meet up at the casino on the Saturday night for whatever a-league games are on. I hope we have a couple hundred down, would be insane.

Shitstar have a sale ending tomorrow night, I don't like flying with them but you can't really look past them when it's half the price of going with Virgin.

Will be booking tomorrow, will only be going down sunday though and coming back monday.
keeping an eye out for Air NZ to go on sale so I can get to Wello away the following weekend.

Day trip, down and back Sunday could be the go. No checked baggage. Interesting.....

EDIT: Booked Sunday 6am from Newcastle, 8:10pm from Melbourne. Keen

Had kind of similar problems finding accommodation last year when we played victory down there. Stereosonic was on, found a shared backpackers $33 a night in the city right near flinders station I think it was the last option really available. That's if you can bother with that type of accommodation.

With a large contingent of Jets supporters heading down to Melbourne for rd2, I am going to start looking into organising the prematch details.
Does anyone have anywhere in mind for a venue? Imperial was suggested to me, but I have since found out that its where the City/Heart supporters drink.
I am thinking Beer DeLuxe - was a great venue for the LFC friendly last year with plenty of room and good food however its not cheap.
Are we happy with this, or do others have better suggestions?

That's the joint right near flinders correct furns? Happy with any suggestion providing it's close to a train station and within 15-20 walking distance from the ground.

Precint hotel is not a bad pub on swan st, great menu (had prawn dumplings there back in march) however it will likely be full of heart/city fans so a pub closer to the Cbd might be more handy.

I remember the days of putting $5 or $10 of petrol in the car and getting good value out of it. Not now where that amount would only be useful if you broke down to get you back to the servo to complete the job.

**** first car I had it was about $21 to fill the ****er up from empty

$55 to Melburn these days is still a pretty good price all things considered with the usual going rates

Just paid $49 each way tonight.

They have a promo on till midnight Friday on Jetstar.

Did do well and avoided paying their $8.50 each way booking fee though. Their website is ****ed now having to uncheck everything.

Cause I was reading it that well I noticed if you don't use the Credit Card but use Internet Banking or Paypal you avoid it.

Going on their Facey page is a laugh seeing all the ****s blow up about the fees yet blissfully aware that direct deposit via Internet Banking or Paypal use sees you not require the credit card to avoid fees.

Probably the same type of idiots in the Herald blowing up when they realise they will need an Opal Card to ride the train for cheap right into Newy before the rail gets ripped up.

As for those of us who use the train for NSW away days may need to look into getting the Opal Card sorted soon as the off peak $11.60 return around NSW fare is a victim of the changes and you will have to pay more without the thing

For those of you who may be interested in going to melburn in march for the next Heart away game on Sunday 15th just like to point out the Formula 1 Grand Prix is on that day
http://www.grandprix.com.au/

Seeing how much fun we had with the Jehovah Witness this last weekend jacking up costs those who are planning on going may be best advised to book hotel/flights now.

Having a look for hotel myself noticed the ridiculous prices and wondered why. A bit of research gave the answer

Might even be an idea for those without the cash at this point in time to look at getting one of those book now pay on arrival deals.

For the revheads out there the game kicks off at 5pm so you probably wouldnt be able to take in both but might be able to head down and see some of the action the day before early in the day etc

It was only expensive cause we all know there were plenty of other places about who offer beer for under $10 a schooner. Nothing wrong with the joint though and would go back after making sure I have taken an overdraft out before hand. :rof:

Most people are just partial to getting change when you offer a blue note for a beer these days. Do remember the days fondly when you could actually ALWAYS get change from a purple note for a beer.
Hell even remember the days of $1 shots vaguely due to memory loss caused by going overboard on the $1 shots

Big difference with a few mates rocking up to a pub and 60-70 away football fans as a group. I attempted to get us into a number of pubs in the Richmond area, most have had issues with Victory fans and therefore didnt want any football fans groups in their pub at all (on an official basis).
Beer DeLuxe was the only pub who was keen to host us.

I'm led to believe every single WSW game at Parra has been sold out.

This sucks for me in that I thought I could get my ticket for the March game a bit closer to the game, but tickets are exhausted already.

Does the club (Jets) get a certain allocation that they will sell to members, or something like that? Or is there no chance of getting tickets now for the March game?

Depends if people are willing to stay there the night and have a night out afterwards. That could help our numbers a tad.

I've had the luxury of staying the night in Sydney for a couple afternoon and night fixtures for jets games in the last 2 seasons. Smart decision in a way. So much more satisfaction and motivation in attending away games.

Actually just spoke to a bloke I know who drives buses for a living.

Asked about the possibility of doing a charter down to/from Wollongong for this Sydney FC/Jets game.

Liquor will be a thumbs up and have had no issue with this with him in the past!!!

He is gonna get back to us with a price.

Would any of you boys be interested??

Bus would seat approx. 50 and obviously the more we got on board the cheaper per person it would bePencil me in at this stage. Just depends on price.

Pencil me in at this stage. Just depends on price.

Biggest issue besides what that comes in at will be numbers.

Gonna need ideally 30-40 on the bus to make it a goer without having to up the price per person to excessive levels to cover the bus fee

Why not just jump on the bus that's already being provided?

Hold the drinking off until you get down there etc.

Good luck member, but as someone who finds it difficult to fill the squadron bus for NSW Away trips (especially in current predicament), you will be lucky to find another 50 supporters to make it worthwhile.
My advice would be to get a minibus. That way you only have to find 15-20 which is a much easier prospect.

Or a minivan if someone puts their hand up to drive it. Pretty easy to pick one up through hertz, europcar, thrifty etc. I used to do that for MDR trips when we had enough supporters living in sydney.

Bloke has driven us all over the Hunter and around various parts of Australia for golfing trips and we have drank piss from the moment we got on to the moment we got off and that is not an issue at all.

I am just waiting on the price back from my contact.
The only thing of concern to me is the price and how many may be needed to cover it.

MFKS
11-12-2014, 10:05 AM
Price is in at $1255

By my counts that would mean we would need a minimum 32 at $40 to cover cost. If we could get the number up to 42 we could drop it back to $30 a head to cover cost

Whats your take on $40 to and from Wollongong drinking piss to get to the game??

Me personally am not bothered but was interested on others perspective before pushing on with the idea??

What I decided to do was stay at a airport hotel.

Ie When plane lands go to hotel and check in then get on the Skybus get into the city and do what you want and then get the Skybus back when done as it runs 24 hours and sleep. Saves the effort the next day also to get on the Skybus and get to airport

Prices were cheaper significantly and just a different way of doing things

pricing at the brewery compared to the Harp?

Brewery is a bit fancy. Harp is more of a dingy pub, but one that you grow to love - also has big screens usually playing sport, and karaoke on weekend nights. I don't remember exactly the pricing, but I'd hazard a guess solely from the appearance of the two, that the Harp would be cheaper.

Yeah I'm pretty sure i got tickets in the away allocation, but I'm fairly sure they were all exhausted way back then too. All you had to do was go to the ticketing site and the password was Flores10 or something like that - something that any person could have done and i assume did do. i bought my tickets for both Parra games at the same time.
