The Newcastle Jets have inked a new long-term partnership with leading international sports apparel brand BLK who will become the Club’s Official Apparel Supplier.

BLK, a subsidiary of WRS Group, will produce playing jerseys, training gear and merchandise for the Jets Hyundai A-League and FOXTEL National Youth League teams through to the end of the 2016/17 season.

The deal marks BLK's first entry into A-League football as the brand continues its expansion, which includes teams across the NRL, AFL and Super Rugby in Australia and New Zealand. BLK was also recently announced as the Official Apparel Supplier for the FOXTEL Hyundai A-League All Stars

Newcastle Jets CEO Robbie Middleby is pleased to welcome BLK on board.

“From our first interaction we have been extremely impressed with the BLK team and their desire to be part of the A-League football family,” Middleby said.

“We are delighted to sign this three-year partnership and hope BLK will be part of an exciting new chapter for the Club.

"We will improve and enhance the design to our jerseys for next year, including the addition of a “Jets 10 Year Anniversary Logo” on the back of all jerseys. However, the main elements of the red and blue stripes and the popular green heritage jersey will remain for one more year. We will launch a completely new off-field and training range shortly.”

I am sure the new BLK merchandise will be very popular and I am looking forward to seeing the team wearing BLK jerseys for the first time in our opening FFA Cup match in August.”

Commercial Director Mark Duffield-Thomas sees the new BLK partnership as a big win for the Jets.

"This is one of the largest sponsorship deals in the Club’s history,” Duffield-Thomas said.

“When we took this opportunity to market it was important for us to secure a strong partner that recognises the potential of football and wants to partner with the Jets.

“BLK is one of the fastest growing apparel brands in Australia and we are proud to become BLK's first A-League Club."

BLK Chief Marketing Officer Jason Sintome is also excited about the new partnership.

“There is much to be excited about as the Newcastle Jets prepare for the 2014/15 Hyundai A league premiership and the team at BLK look forward to providing the Jets playing and administrative staff with a range of cutting edge, high performance apparel as they commence what promises to be the most fiercely contested in A-League history.” Sintome said.

“The Jets start the rigors of pre-season training with a new coach and some exciting new additions to the playing squad and as official apparel partner, we look forward to working closely with the team and sharing in the successes the squads efforts off the field will produce on it.

“For more than a decade, the WRS Group through brands KooGa and more recently BLK have supplied industry leading apparel to thousands of grass roots and professional sporting teams around the world, that expansion continues with our recent entry into the football market in Australia and we are delighted to announce the beginning of what we know will be a productive and successful partnership with the Newcastle Jets.“

The new 2014/15 Newcastle Jets jersey designs will be launched and available for pre-order in July.

Their off field gear is really good. Will be interesting to see how the on field kit goes. I have seen samples they have done for on field gear for Football for a community club in Brisbane and it was first class.

This...I relate the hideous red and blue entirely to the neanderthal cousins.

We won things in gold....Griff looked hotter in gold, come to think of it Heskey would've looked sensational !
