A local midfielder who is strong in the tackle, positionally aware and has a great passing range . An absolute travesty jobe isn't still at the club and captain.

Disagree, i know we havent gone forward but to go back to the same blokes who have failed to get us anywhere in the past is crazy.
Most people here would love a midfield of jobe and zads, but they didnt bring any kind of success to the club previously.
As i said, i know we arent in a great situation now but going back to mediocrity is not the way.

Agree with your thoughts on Jobe. He isn't the answer
Disagree though on the Mediocrity bit though
I think we are well beyond mediocrity at present.
Mediocrity would be a couple of steps up from where we are.

Yeah yeah. Cool cool.
Let's sign Paartalu instead.....oh wait.
Nah, let's get Celevski..........oh wait.
That's ok, we've got Kanta.........oh wait.
Cool, we've just play some other blokes.
Thing is, we keep hearing 'Jobe isn't the answer', but I severely doubt this club even knows what the ****ing question is.
Cool selfies though. Keep up the good work.

Jobe became disenchanted with the Jets and decided to move on.
And given the coach at the time was making team selections that were neither based on form or fitness - who can blame him.
I'll be disappointed if Jobe comes back as it would be a step backwards for him. He deserves to play for a real team rather than this abortion of a club.

Who cares how he left the club, he was just an average player. And by average i dont mean bad, he is a decent A-league player.
But to want him back thinking it would turn our squad into a competitive one, that jobe is the missing piece..... i must be missing somthing because the bloke i watched in the aleague for quite a few years certainly wasn't that!

Sign him up as an injury replacement for Celeski. Gives us an insurance policy when we miss out on the next 3 players we try to sign

Correct.

jobe was pushed.
That might explain why when asked if he was playing one weekend he replied:
I'm not injured and I'm training well - but you never know with ....... [guess who].

Correct.
You are missing something.
Could be that or you could be seeing something that really isnt there!

Would take an average A-League mid over an injured A-League mid or Kanta, tbf...
Though if Pepper was just played in his correct position, that would alleviate some of the drama.

Correct. And what's not there is exactly the thing that you seem to be missing.

I would too but even though we are shit surely our aim cant be "lets get back to average"

Average in a 10 team comp is halfway between 5th and 6th. Average is our clubs goal and appears to be the long term goal. If we re-sign Joel and finish 6th, job(e) done. If we don't and finish 7th, you can quote this at the end of the season and complain, wishing we were average enough to play finals football.

We are staring down the barrel of the spoon. Finishing 7th would be an achievement. Finishing i the top 6 would be an over achievement.
Lets face it very little has gone on recently at the club to give us hope better days are coming soon.
We sold off two of our better players to Euro clubs, we released a couple of under contract younger players who may have made a great stride forward this year to rival clubs when we didn't have to, we also for some reason released our captain who worked his arse off for the cause and a few other squaddies.
We have replaced them with a bloke unwanted by the pissants, another couple of injury affected players one who still hasn't played for us and the other a huge gamble, an Ecuadorian bloke who don't speak English yet could be great or shite but is hard to tell as he isn't fit yet cause it took so long to get a Visa, a competent player in madeschi, someone to take the focus of Gallaways shitness and some bloke who has a pornstar like name yet has spent most of his career playing semi pro football in the US of A
Add in Tinks wanting out
Not exactly convincing that the corner is being turned

Tinks was never gonna stay. He did well to throw some decent $ at a sport he doesnt like. It was the appointment of gve that ensured yrs of mediocrity. think back 4 yrs, we are there.

I consider myself extremely optimistic but losing out on paartalu may have finally broken me. If the ownership isn't sorted before the start of the season, celeski is out for an extended period and we don't sign another mid, my family and I may find it hard to turn up for the start of the season.... Oh wait we are away for the first 6 or so weeks.

Yep and whoever came up with the idea of bringing that stupid f^&k**ng overated coach back should never ever be allowed anywhere near the club again.
You did not need to be smart to know re employing that pubic haired muppet was always going to be fraught with danger.

Jobe should be signed. Newcastle boy, 3-5 years still to offer. He deserves to end his A league career on his terms as opposed to what happened before with GVE.
