passing the one uni subject I did last semester even though I was sure I'd failed

I was ready to leave the exam after about 15 minutes but thought, **** it, I'll stay here and write down everything I remember from the few hours study I'd managed to get - this got me 40% in the exam, which the required pass mark

just scraping through is not a good feeling though - much, much better to put the work in and get good grades

Rocknerd

TDKR is violent, and funny, well written and just the right lenght. it is a slow build as it lays the foundation for the second act which builds to a giant defening roar for the final act which is epic! i didn't even notice the passage of time as the film gripped me from start to finish.

I suggest the reason you didn't enjoy the Hangover was the fact it was an utterly shit film that relied heavily on the fact that the majority of viewers lack any idea of actual humour and was just the same dick joke for well over an hour.

MARK COLVIN: Tasmania will become the first state in Australia and one of the first jurisdictions on earth to consider an outright ban on cigarettes. If passed, the ban would be phased in over time. Current smokers could continue to light up, but anyone born after the year 2000 would be banned from buying cigarettes, even when they turn 18.

I wonder what the kids will do to stay cool.

i think i found it easier the second time round.

the first was a single 21km loop, the second run was a 2 lap 10.5km loop, so i found that a bit tougher mentally. it was easy to keep going on the long loop, cause i knew it was the fastest way home :D

Briefly (on phone). You used to just put a blanket 80/20 split between work/personal use on company cars on your tax return. The more you put as business use the less liable for Fringe Benefits Tax you are. Rudd changed it so now regardless of what you claim, you need to keep a log book for every business journey to justify the tax break. So yeah, a 2 minute drive to a meeting, yep, get your pencil and pad out.
Mind, it's Rudd so the policy will change 20 times between now and being implemented but he's put a shiver through the industry, from car makers to leasing companies through to workers who salary sacrifice cars to save on tax. It just means that now everyone will have to lie in a log book instead of a tax return. More paperwork/admin for business and more admin/audit from the public service to implement it.
This from the man who vows to cut red tape for small business and make things easier.
He's a dickhead.
All this shit to pay for the demise of a carbon tax which no one wanted, and for which we'll still be getting compensation for. Why not just get rid of the compensation? Because that's bad PR and its better to go after the 'wealthy business owners in their BMW's'. (Abbott and his bunch of idiots are keeping the compensation too).
More class war bullshit from Labor and more anti business policy (small business being the single largest employer in Australia).
Onya Kev.

Ok before boffins and lefties wanna pick apart my generalizations here take it to the politics thread.

So your current car is fine but any contract entered into after last Tuesday will be subject to the new rules ( which you can find on the back of a napkin somewhere at Labor HQ).
