Can you blame a player from the attacking third for the goals?

FFS WLG at least try blaming BK Gallaway or Birraz and stick to the usual suspects

Should never have been renewed... Not good enough to be in the Aleague... Always runs to the right, is predictable as heck...

No offence to the guy, is a local player, but with all the younger guys waiting in the wings, he is a waste of a squad spot...

Crap, but that suits the ambition of the club. Existing is good enough.

NPL at best on a good day, Not on his own though, The imposter from Coffs also falls into this category.

You haven't seen much of him then.
Chilli owns defenders at NPL level. He's plenty good enough to play A-league but for reasons unknown he's not been able to make the transition.

What are your thoughts on him?

I think it's a big year for James. He is off contract at the end of the year and he needs to start producing some goods to earn a new deal, in my opinion. 1 assist and 0 goals from 50+ appearances is not what we're looking for from someone in his position.

At youth level he can utilise his biggest asset, which is his speed. Unfortunately at HAL level it doesn't work. Defenders are more experienced and stronger than James and have worked out that every time he goes to his right.

If he is to cut it at HAL level, he may need to reconsider his role as a RW. Perhaps a RB would be better suited to him?

Seen enough to know he may very well own defenders in NPL but has failed at HAL. Not the first to be unable to make the step up and will not be the last.

How many other clubs would line up for his services if he was available ?. IMO none would so that tells me all i need to know.

Clubs need squaddies. Look at Hoffman - showed a little bit of promise and got a gig with Heart. He changed his position and now is a regular.

I think he'd get picked up by a club.

The blokes the victim of a lack of confidence and shit coaching at this level. Gets in the team from good form in the NYL and doesn't carve it up and it is straight out the door every ****ing time.

Also feel he is poorly utilised and we should particularly when playing away or leading play him as a striker trying to beat the offside trap. If he gets running and there is space and the ball is played reasonably well he will run away from blokes 99 times out of a hundred. He could well be a great asset to us with counter attacking play if utilised correctly

Seriously this is the lamest excuse I have ever seen.

Despite numerous opportunities to prove himself, Chilli is found wanting every single time.

The only mistake Chillis coaches have made is to continually select Chilli and sign Chilli. How we don't learn from making this same mistake over and over is the real question

So I take it you consider and opportunity as 60 mins in the starting line up to only get subbed off cause he hasn't scored or carved it up and not be seen again for another 4-18 games??

Until the bloke is given an extended run in the side to settle in bit hard to say he can't hack it at this level.

Those who reckon he is just an NPL player only are full of shit. He ****ing killed it at that level with the Jets Yoof a couple of years ago and would kill it again.

The bloke has not had an extended settled run in the side without the coach making him a scapegoat every time he doesn't play like he is Messi

He has never been given a run in the first team. Would love to see what his longest run in the starting eleven was.

Give me 5 games in the starting 11 and I'd get better too. Still doesn't mean I'd be any good.

He's been there for 3 managers now? Even if it's only 2, there appears to be a pattern that coaches don't rate him that highly.

Considering the standard of the coaches he has had though makes how they rate him irrelevant.

Remember the same clowns can't get us to win games and every player we release becomes a star elsewhere (Topor Labi Abbas Elrich etc) So exactly what are their credentials to make the judgement he can't play??

Hardly compelling evidence that the bloke can not play

It looks like he got a run of 6 starts between 14/12/12 and 12/1/13. He came on at the 70 and 60 minute mark the 2 weeks before and he played 90 minutes in each of those matches. He then made another start and 5 substitute appearances in the 6 matches following that as well.

So I'd say he was involved in 14 games straight

And do I need to now create a multi called Mr Statsman?

What position do people see Virgili most likely to "make it" at HAL level?

not a striker can't finish
i could see him as a winger, if he adapts his game to become less predictable and improves his passing, crossing and finishing
His pace would help him at right back if he learnt to defend

if it were a big competition in europe his the player youd send out on loan to a half decent team for 1 or 2 years to build and play regular competitive games

I don't think you have seen enough of him. Virgilli has scored goals for the youth teams and for the Jets in trial games as well.

Saying Virgilli can't finish based on his A-league record is like saying Scott Macdonald can't finish based on his Socceroos stats.

I guess the same thinking that saw BK get dropped after a string of games (that were arguably our best run of games last season).

Ergo: coaches just do shit because coaches.

Deadset there's twos camps on this whol argument.

Birraz is god who's shit smells like rose tea and BK stands for butterfingers katasrophy.

Camp2
Both keepers are solid in some aspects, weak in others, on the whole Birraz probably pips BK but on his day BK can pip Birraz, let's treat them both to the same level of scrutiny.

After watching Chilli work his magic in youth league and in the State league comp for the Jets youth I was very happy that others finally got to see just how good this kid can be.

The big question is will we be able to play with a back three to accommodate him ?

If we can against Adelaide we can do it against any one that plays a 433 or a 4231. Not sure how it would go against Sydney when they switch to a 442. I know it would work, but they need to work on there positioning and marking.

Probably helps having a coach tell him to run forward, use his speed and cross it into the box....unlike The last coach who thought it a good idea to tell his players how shit they were*

*an assumption ( he couldn't have possibly be telling them anything else)
