Alot more confident we can get a result in this game.

Being back at home will help with the players confidence I'd like to think. Abit of a daunting task being away from home for the first 4 games.

I'm predicting a 1-1 draw in this fixture. Victory will probably score a late equalizer.

We'll either foul Victory to a stalemate or lose like we did against Nux.
Perhaps our first 5 nil.
We might have a chance if Phil plays everyone in their actual roles instead of all rhese players out of position

What it means is that his positioning was terrible, giving up way too much of the goal and making it easy.
Not entirely his fault, Regan left his man with way too much space. We clearly have a structural problem in our defence. But still.

steve136

Here's a few challenges:
Try to find a goalkeeper with less confidence than Birighitti.
Try to find a defence that gives its opponents more space.
Try to find a player that can kill a counter-attack better than Caravella.
Try to find a player less composed in front of goal that Carney.
Try to find an easier player to dribble around than Galloway.

Good luck.

Replayed it on IQ about 10 times , left fullback played berisha on, definitely wasn't offside.Thought our midfield dominated theirs but our fullbacks were woeful and let us down badly going forward and defending , absolutely shocking. Montano deserved MOM kept a mammoth amount of ball with no service for him to have a go on target. Definitely a keeper hope we do all we can to get him next year. I would love to see him an Neumann have a go together upfront.

These cunce are killing me

Jaliens should be stripped of the captaincy. Scores a goal then runs away from the fans to celebrate. Griff should be ****ing installed ASAP as the bloke has a ****ing clue and done the right thing

As for the game well lets call a spade a spade no way in the world did we deserve to be 2-0 up. The only threat we caused them was from set pieces. They had NFI defending them.

The first 20 mins at home and we can't get a shot on goal and never looked like having one. FFS

Probably cause all the cunce on the park were interested in doing was passing backwards.
Scott Neville had a FK just in front of the Victree bench in the first half and he chose to play it backwards. Not only did he play it back he was constantly looking for an option from Kew Reegz Birraz to receive and wasn't even looking to play it sideways or heaven forbid forward. FFS When the mentality of these cunce is to play the ball backwards at 0-0 at home then there is a ****ing problem.

Add in the constant effort from these blokes to play backwards at all costs and you can see why our striker receives shit ball.
Considering how poor Victree are at crosses I would love to know why our blokes think it is a good idea to get the ball in the corner and then have it back on Half way within 10 seconds. ****ING STUPID

I could swear we are still under some edict to play GVE's way cause all i seen today was the same shit over and over again we have seen for the last few years. FFS Phil be your own ****ing man

The tactix were a disgrace from an attacking sense and Phil showed not to be quick on the up take. For a team that plays like Victree do why the ridiculously high line?? We got punished twice in the first half once they scored the other time they hit the post and were also exposed just after H.T Add in the fact in the second half we had a linesman who seemed to have **** all idea on the offside rule let alone much of a ****ing clue what the rest of the rules were then why ****ing persist?? It was lucky we got way with it.

The substitutions were ****ing poor to. Exactly what if Flores gonna achieve in 10 mins?? 60 Mins into the game the game was there to be won. Would have loved to have seen some positive changes and play 2 up front get Flores on etc. No we go with the same shit. He who dares wins and all that. Have a go you ****ing cunce

Speaking of the same shit where the **** was the Plan B?? All I seen was the same tactic that was struggling to work and we persisted to the ****ing end. FFS Change it up and ask a different ****ing question. You never know the tactic might ****ing work

Feel for Montano who done well. Be interesting to see how the bloke would go having a bit of ****ing support unlike the normal situation where the bloke is fed shit and has to fend for himself.

Griff is ****ing wasted on the ****ing right play the bloke up front and start putting your best XI on the park and start putting your players in their best position and **** this shit set formation off.

Lets just face some facts these cunce will never be able to ****ing play the ****ing thing. The last few years of not making the semis have ****ing proving it. The last few years not winning games have ****ing proven it. FFS Is any **** at the club capable of getting it through their ****ing heads it is time to try something different

Apoligies for the excessive swearing but these cunce are ****ing killing me and I was ****ing worse 3 and a half hours ago

Member, sure you aren't Phil Dando? Making a lot of similar points, all of which makes sense.

But herein lies the problem with our club's management, we're far too happy to just exist, as opposite to trying to be ambitious and change the club like Roar did with Ange, like Victory with Ange, Scum with Arnie, Sydney with Arnie and Adelaide with Gombau. Those clubs with ambition are going good, but not the ones without ambition.

My thoughts;
Biraz: good game, didnt really do anything wrong, wasnt at fault for either goal. Only concern is his lack of communication with defenders, but maybe Kew has been put in charge and Biraz just doing his part.
Kew: class.
Reegz: im sick of defending him. if mongs on here cant see that hes a more than capable A-league level player then i cant help you. works well with Kew and most importantly listens and obeys his senior partner.
right back/left back: seemed to sit a bit more. was Nev injured? Gallagher was getting yelled out by Kew most of the 1st half. hope he listens.
Zanon/Kanta/manchild: theres a lot of toil here. i actually dont have a problem with any of their individual efforts. i just think they are all really similar players and not a great deal of spark or attacking instinct there. i think the problem is playing a lot of blokes like that together. theres something about the Manchild that I like.
Griff: stop the fight. best player we've ever had. add me to the list of blokes wanting to see him up front.
Montano: lots of work. got about. someone mentioned Heskey and i think thats a good spot. likes to use his hands a lot to control the ball (got away with a fair few of them). obviously been watching Jimmy Holland videos. respect.
Carney: not sure what people expect from him. i think hes a pretty good player for us, i just think people expect more from him due to his pedigree. the shot in the 2nd half was on target and anyone thinking he should have just run on and hit it first time is tripping. this is the A-League, if you think youre seeing a Bale like performance for your $12 each week then think again.
others: meh.
Ryan Griffiths in the stands. Please tell me he wasnt sitting with Middleby. **** Ryan Griffiths.
Flores: is he fit or not? if so get him on the park. we need a #10. if hes not fit then get him in youth. 10 mins at the end where he comes on and tries the miracle balls doesnt help anyone.

thought we were by far the better team. played some good football. still no wins though.
GVE OUT.

I thought Carney did well in attack and we seemed more enterprising down the left. My only concern is that he doesn't track back fast enough which, if your left back is that WOFTAM Galloway, is a recipe for disaster.

When the Roundabout goes forward quickly he is value. I noticed yesterday that for a small bloke he wins a lot of tackles and rides their tackles quite well. He needs to be quicker going forward and needs options to be available.

Gallagher, Galloway and Walsh to slow on the ball. Will give Walsh and Gallagher time to improve.

My thoughts:

This formation sucks.
Montano although worked very hard, was isolated for the whole game. I'm not sure if he should've been man of the match. How many shots on target did he have? Griff running off the big man could be quite effective.

Carney was rubbish. I agree with Plague that we may expect too much from him. This bloke couldn't hold down a regular spot at any club. 7 clubs in 5 years.

Caravella and Kanta were okay without providing any great attacking threats. Sitting very deep.
Welsh - okay without being good enough - yet.

Kew & Taylor are forming a quite decent partnership. Nev was pretty okay. Gallagher hasn't impressed me.

Once again we lost a lead.

I did assume MFKS was talking about bay 60, altough comparing the 2 different celebration my assumbtion seems to be correct. With comments like MFKS it gives off the mantra that he feels superior to all the other fans and when he uses collective nouns it's easy to make the connection I did.

We were very risk averse yesterday. Our first instinct is to play back, which has come from years and years under GvE and to an extent Branko. It's ruined a number of our current crop and will still happen with his involvement in the youth system. couple withis with tediously slow ball movement and it's no wonder we struggle to create anything. The few one-two touches between Griff and Montano tells me a) these blokes know what they're doing and b) there is something of a partnership there.

Where was Pepper yesterday? He is one of the few who hasn't deserved to be dropped.

I agree with all those calling for the diamond formation. Joel is wasted out right.

Also Montano is a beast - Heskey but with more pace and the ability to beat a player.

Kanta did a really good job hanging off Finkler for the majority of the match.

Strebre and his assistants were pretty ordinary yesterday. Strebre blew for everything so no momentum could be gained, and the Western stand linesman was terrible. The number of times Thompson or Barbarouses were offside and he missed it because he wasn't watching or was 10m behind the play was terrible.

Top call Q Man.

The kids doing this should be older than the current lot as half of them look like they are struggling to hold the football as it is so big and have NFI at the basics of ball boy at all.

They done the same thing last year we played Tards gave the ball back at lightening speed for Coe to take a quick GK and 20 seconds later it was in our net as we were sound asleep.

Rather ridiculous thing is our blokes ain't ever interested in a quick throw in anyway most of the time so the kids take their sweet time giving the ball to the player.

On the off chance we are interested in a quick ball the poor kid is running along miles from the action and running in slow motion weighed down by the ball like it is a bag of 20kg spuds .

As soon as our opponent wants it they are on the spot and can't wait to give it to them.

Just another issue to be resolved at our club the employing of ball boys involved in the dark arts of gamesmanship like that kid at Swansea who kicked the other year by was it Hazard??

It is an not thought about area. Overseas ball boys must be a certain age and attending weekly training etc.

Here it is probably the kids of people who work for the Jets who probably get very little advice or training and are just told to catch the ball and throw it to a player.

They are often not looking, slow or jump if a player shouts at them....we should be a little more stringent in choosing these kids.

:rof: this season I had my nephew helping out ballboy my own games and a couple of times I geed him up to purposely give the ball back slower to the opposition. It's not that hard to sort this.

I've also heard stories of Cooks Square, aka Windy Hill, back in the day (70s, 80s) only supplying one solitary ball for games and the home team would try desperately for an early goal, then just thump the ball out down the hill and laugh as an opposition player would be sprinting down the hill to get the game restarted - only for Maitland to intercept the throw-in and clear it straight back down the hill :rof:

In the EPL (and elsewhere), home teams stock different number of balls available to the ball boys depending on the opponents. If they play against a team they think they should beat, they stock heaps of balls so there's higher opportunity to play. If they play a team they don't think they can beat, they stock the bare minimum required by the FA and tell their ballboys to purposely partake in a bit of q-mungus's skullduggery. See Swansea vs Chelsea when Hazard kicked the ballboy for the extreme example of this happening.

Too many people in Newy think that if you're British, you must know and be awesome at football (see: Bridges). I'm amazed that Stubbins, born-n-bred in Hull and just the ultimate football coach because of his accent, hasn't geed up the ballboys for this kind of thing yet.

:rof: this season I had my nephew helping out ballboy my own games and a couple of times I geed him up to purposely give the ball back slower to the opposition. It's not that hard to sort this.
