I don't want him. We have greater needs elsewhere

Just what we don't need more other teams rejects. We do need CM but we need a dominant force physically in there not a bloke doing the job Celevski should do once fit

clearly Paartelu wasn't the answer either from what we have seen.

Miller is proven, fell out with the coach, just like Wehrman, maybe what happened to Jonny, fell out with the coach

What we need is a winning mentality. All this crap about having a powerhouse defensive midfielder is crap. We don't have enough players who know how to win games. The HAL level isn't that great yet, you don't need Pirlo and Henry to compete. Our players are good enough to win games on paper, they just aren't quite good enough as a team.

I haven't seen too much of his game but he seems tidy on the ball and has come from an environment of winning games. That could be more useful than a bloke who is a foot taller and can shoulder players off the ball...

Does a double pivot of Celeski and Miller sound better than maybe Regan and Kanta at the moment? Pepper still needs to learn a bit of positioning but by the end of the season will be magnificent, i think that a bit of experience at the moment would help us down the track.

Totally disagree.

A successful team actually still has a great work ethic and the blokes run their socks off for the cause defensively. It is only after that foundation is laid the attacking players are then able to strut their stuff to provide the polish. Roy Keane Patrick Viera Makele etc never had the skills but were physically dominant players in their sides and laid on the platform for the success of the team despite the other blokes in the team getting the plaudits

Having Miller Celevski and Flores is gonna achieve little when none of them are that great defensively so as a result we would not see much of the ball.

As for saying he comes from an environment of winning games that means **** all when he spent how long at Sunderland and Perth Glory so a season being a bit part player at Roar hasn't made him a star

I thought Miller was a midfielder/fullback? I very well might be wrong there, as i said i hadn't seen too much of his game.

As for the powerful DM, i understand that it's a great way to play but in no way is it the be all and end all. Just look at the two best teams in the world at the moment. Real and Bayern both have intelligent, mobile, ball playing midfielders. They don't seem to be doing too bad without a powerhouse? If we can get one i'd be stoked, but if we can't we will be fine if we can some intelligent ball players in the middle of the park.. as well as some positional discipline, we will stop conceding so many goals.

What exactly are you classing Schweinsteiger and Khderia and Kroos as then??

These blokes do the graft for Bale CR7 Ribery Robben etc to strut their stuff.

Miller ain't the worst with the ball but defensively he ain't the type to make shit loads of tackles and win the ball for you.

Being that we have Celvski and Flores to play this type of role Miller plays I ain't seeing the need for Miller at all

No thanks .Miller would have to be one of the most overated imports to ever play in the HAL. And when it comes to shots on goal the bloke could not hit the side of a barn

isnt he a creative midfielder

I just read his stats on Transfermarkt and soccerbase. They list defensive mid/right wing as his secondary position. He seems to have played in more advanced roles in the HAL though. He hasn't scored many goals in his career for a creative mid.

Either way he seems on his way to Malaysia anyway. I don't think we will sign anyone else this year unless we sort out our ownership.

Lets just try Melbourne Hearts technique, don't win a game for ages, sack your 'long term project' coach, win a few games but still miss the finals, get bought out by a billionaire, spend lots of money and still play poorly... That would suit us perfectly.

http://mobile.news.com.au/sport/football/liam-miller-clears-air-after-shock-exit-from-brisbane-roar-and-denies-ever-having-a-calf-injury/story-fndm8jin-1227115914365?from=public_rss&utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter

FORMER Brisbane Roar midfielder Liam Miller wants to clear the air after his shock exit from the A-League club last week.

The former Celtic, Manchester United and Republic of Ireland midfielder was annoyed with reports declaring he was injured and that he refused to play for Roar’s youth team the day after Brisbane lost to Sydney FC 2-0 at Suncorp Stadium on October 25.

“I played the first game of the season (against Adelaide United 1-2) and the manager (Mike Mulvey) then dropped me for the second game and the third game,’’ Miller said.

“In those two weeks he didn’t come to me with any explanation as to why I was dropped which I found unprofessional and disrespectful and when I asked him he couldn’t give me a valid reason, claims made by him now that I had an ongoing calf problem are completely false.

“After the Sydney game the following morning I met him at the pool recovery.

“I told him straight I wanted my contract terminated immediately.

“I told him there and then I had played my last game under him. He said “I take it your not going to play the youth game then and I said “no.”

“I spoke to the CEO (Sean Dobson) and explained the situation to him.

“We had a long chat and he was very understanding

“He said have a think about it and “come and see me on Monday”

“He asked me again to reconsider on Monday but by then my mind had been made up.

“ (Dobson) signed the termination and it was done.

“There was no communication from the manager whatsoever.

“I had been disrespected and that was enough for me to leave, simple as that.”

Miller, 33, was an integral part of winning Roar’s impressive double last season playing 24 matches and scoring three goals after making a move from Perth Glory.

The Irishman is currently in Asia taking time out to reflect on his next career move.

Miller wouldn’t reveal what the future holds.

“At the moment I’ve kept my options open,’’ he said.

Except that tagz has been injured and is not fit to play yet... that sounds like the kind of thing the club would do actually! 4 week contract to a bloke 6 weeks away from playing football.

Most of our blokes ain't fit to play now.

I would take a half fit Taggz over a fully fit Gallaway/Gallagher/BK /Roundabout etc
