But I'm fairly sure he hadn't played A-League before.

its an opinion, and thats it, nothing to do with Rob Dillion, and his articles, rather than an opinion i had on the game, and cowburn.

seriously, like stated previously, if that was a good performance, future is bright.

The kid had his A-League debut playing out of position, lining up against a guy that destroyed the HAL last time he was in it.

He made multiple good defensive headers. He had a high possession retention rate in the context of how well our team was keeping the ball - the cross being the major error I saw him do. He was always an outlet for Carney, and made a few positive forward runs. And I recall once that Ruka actually burnt him, and even then he tracked back as best he could. I give you the duty of watching every single WSW game from now on and seeing how other RBs handle Ruka, and compare.

Our team has been in a shambles the entire season - hell, even for the last 4 years. And a kid comes on and does a respectable job, and actually looks keen and willing (which is very rare in our current setup) and he is getting blasted.

i suggest - for f sake, play players competent in playing that position, we havent won a game, and our defence is shambles, Cowburn, may have been a decent youth player, but after the weekend, he looks like a NPL player, he got beat every time by Rukavytsa, continaually was chasing players 4 metres behind, couldnt mark up for his life, and looked lost. AMATUER HOUR AT BEST, what was wrong playing Pepper, Ben Kanta, at back if they were short, even T Regan?
In the Youth, Brandon Lundy, Michael Kanta etc would have done a better job, if you want to promote talent.
He was poor, and if you think that is acceptable, then wooden spoon is where we will end up.

Houston we have BIG problems, name players, ousted, or on bench playing 5-10 minutes, and NPL quality players full game, excellent tactics

I'll give you Pepper. He was certainly an option and had played there before and it was a thought that also crossed my mind. Yes, Ruka showed him up a few times which is something I'd expect from a player who has played overseas, is in the middle of his career and has represented the National team. Regan and Ben Kanta I don't think would cut it. I don't think they have the legs for it (Regan) nor the experience (Kanta).

You offer a few suggestions also from the Youth team, and not having watched them play I can't comment. However, I was under the impression Lundy is a striker/winger and Michael Kantarovski is CM? And yes I think we should be looking to our youth otherwise what's the point in having them? He's their captain, playing regularly, and must have deserved a go otherwise Stubbins wouldn't have picked him.

I'm certainly not saying it's acceptable long term, however, for a debut appearance he did better than say, Jorge Drovandi or Chris Payne. I thought he was better than Gallaway on the weekend too.

I am better than Gallaway and have not pulled a set of boots on in 25years.
