KEY FACTS:

The Jets kept two clean sheets against the Phoenix last year – once at home and once away.
Ben Kennedy has now surpassed Labinot Haliti to become the 6th most capped player.
The last meeting at Hunter Stadium between the two clubs served as the club’s biggest victory. It was also the last match in which a substitute scored for the Jets – a cracking volley by Michael Bridges.

The Jets haven’t lost in the last 24 matches when they’ve been ahead at half time. However, they have lost the last 7 when they have been behind at half time.
The Jets haven’t kept a clean sheet in the last 8 matches.
The Jets have only been ahead at half time once this season.
So far this season, 22 Jets players have received a booking as opposed to 2 opposition players.
The Jets won both games played at home against the Phoenix on a Saturday

Shit I remember that now

We lost 5-0 to Brisbane, 3-1 to Perth the 2 home games before the finals. Followed by a 1 nil loss to mariners then a 1-1 draw losing on aggregate. Then the 7 game winless streak to start off season 2.

Funny enough we broke the streak with a 3-0 win at home to the new zealand knights.

I hope the players are aware of this streak.

I will always support this team. I'll alwyas show up to matches and I won't boo them.

But they make it ****ing hard some times.

We don't press. We defend so deep creating a massive gap in the midfield. We need a left back dearly. We lack pace. The ball moves too slowly. The crowd are on the players back, and rightly so.

The only thing we've won all season is the yellow card count - and we even lost that today!

Stubbins will not be sacked while ever Tinkler is in charge. A new owner cannot come soon enough.

The players look despondent. This is the second worst run in our a-league history.

Kanta and pepper were the positives for me. Hoole tried hard but had some honking touches. The back four were arguing all evening and I think Neville and madaschi were right to get up kew for wandering all over the pitch and leaving us exposed. Am I right that kew played burns onside for the first? I think I remember on the replay seeing the rest of the back four step up and kew lag.

Anyway I'm sick of hating on Stubbs and some of the players. Me and mrs ( and many around us actually) applauded the teams efforts at full time. The club and the players don't need boos anymore. Encouragement is needed and that's all ill provide from now on

Carney was ****ing lazy tracking back and was responsible for one of the goals.

He just stands there as his man makes a run.

Might be good with the ball but is too much of a liability without it.

I admit he's coming off a low base.

First 25 min looks like we train once a week and practice walking through a game. We are slow, we move the ball slow and we have no movement. Nix moved us around and we tired....not that the team has any fitness anyway. Honestly is our fitness coach a cross between Homer Simpson and peter griffin?

Griff should have had a hatty by halftime....probably down to bench warming, playing wide or the once a week training sessions.

Two home games in a row we could have won if our finishing or final ball was more clinical.

Frustration is so far in the past I can't even see it anymore.

Stubbins is a joke...do the right thing and walk away.

Hoole was good. Carney played his best match so far imo.

yep.

why take hoole off. That was the start of a stubbfail.

And Montano, ok he had some passes to run onto that turned into 50/50's but he easily lost them all due slack assness. He was not interested for mine. Maybe his mental side has fallen into the hole with a few others.

Probably got sick and tired of the service.
Everytime he showed for a throw in it came at waist/belly height FFS
Everytime a teammate passes to him it is never on the deck and either at his head/chest.

Watch Neville's work on goals 2 and 3. Seen better in under 12s.

Agree about Hoole. Great with the ball at his feet and running at them but a weak first touch and some honking passing.

Pepper was good. Carney our most dangerous attacking option. Kanta must have got a rocket at half time because he started the second half very strongly and was, for a while, playing as well as he ever has.

Griff tried as did Montano. The rest were crap.

About the jets but is that a bad thing???. Say the ffa take over , would they sack middleby or stubbins??.

Im just wondering what people would expect from a change in owner.

Honestly, coming from someone who genuinely does try and be optimistic about this club, I just can't ****ing do it anymore.

The fact is, this club does not deserve the love we try and give it.

How any player can be approached by this club, young players especially and even consider us actually blows my mind. Time and time again, we have shown that we halt the progress of any young player attempting to break through and de-rail any career that showed any sign of promise.

The club is run by the most inept people too ever run a football cub, and the fact that it is still standing when most any club run by the same ****wits who run ours would have died a long time ago speaks wonders about the fact that we as fan, for some unknown ****ing reason still show up to these games.

Just looking at the goals via replay now:
1st goal was Kew playing Burns onside, this defence is not playing as a unit yet due to injuries and poor fitness.
2nd goal was clearly offside
3rd goal was a brilliant strike, but you could make a case that Neville could have closed him down quicker

Biggest issue for me currently is our complete and total lack of fitness after 60 minutes. 12/19 goals conceded after the hour mark.
Double training sessions until we can last the full 90.

Carney- wasn't there, have heard fans were giving it to him as he walked off. So it was probably a 2 way street.

Should give them constructive feedback throughout the game. Every pass forward - cheer. Every pass back that had no pressure - boooo.

Also, we could do what some fans did elsewhere. Print off 100 arrows and have people running side to aide pointing towards the goal.

At least it'll give us something to laugh about.

First 15 min BK had the most touches of any player and non were shots stopped....shows our mentality.

Why does carney feel the need to take free kicks in the defensive half of the field? He did it a number of times early doors and we just passed it back. Why not at least push forward and lump it up there and make their defence work even slightly.

****ing negative slow pathetic bullshit play......coaching is shite, playing style is non existant.

I ****ing hate all this new age crap about philosiphies and crap. Football is a simple game made hard by people who don't have a clue. Pass, move, put it in the net. Simple.

Best player on the park for us was Madaschi. Was epic in the air and shouted at the lads all day. Was organised and cleared the ball many times when we were in trouble.
Love the Jets. Hate the running of this club. Love SOME of the players efforts but we are just nowhere near good enough with this coaching system.
Stubbins has a rif raf bunch of players but a great coach would bond them together for at least a few wins so far.

My kudos goes to the 9k that turned up. i was pretty surprised. I took a new guy to watch his forst game and he couldnt belive how many ppl turned up when we are sitting 2nd last.

Fire up Jets. Get a new owner and a new coach and lets fix this mess sooner rather than later.

Referee Adam Fielding-methings his first time in Newy-first season in HAL as far as i am aware

I though the referee was not too bad. not great but better than the likes of Gillett and Delovski by a country mile. the linesmen were absolute rubbish though. The south-west linesman got more decisions wrong than right and the other cost us the second goal which was clearly offside.

No home ground advantage here....

Their second was offside, a minute later Krishna got played through and got called off when he was half a meter onside.
