Just remember that wearing casual clothes means you're ready to fight.

I reckon phil plays a defensive side and goes for a draw for minute one. And will change goalkeepers half way thru because why not.

Spoken to Brooke from the Jets and Mark from Waratah LAC this arvo. There will obviously be a heightened police & security presence for this game.
Police will be escorting the WSW march into the southern gates by 430pm.
Jets supporters are advised to delay leaving the Tenzo until 430pm, and to go around cricket field onto Turton Rd and into the western gates. Cops will also be stationed near southern gates on the Styx bridge.
Anyone wanting to be in Bay 60 MUST have a bay 60 ticket or membership for this game. Security will be refusing entry to anyone without a valid bay 60 ticket to keep out the WSW casuals.
Single game bay 60 tickets are available at the dedicated window to the right of the western stand turnstiles. Anyone with a non bay 60 membership can upgrade to a bay 60 ticket by visiting the Membership services window to the left of the western stand turnstiles.

Can you confirm whether this includes smart casual clothes as well? Are button-down shirts a no-no? Chinos? What about if I turn up in a pair of bright coloured ankle boots, can I be expected to be set upon by the WSW fashion police for that too?

17 options to whack Wanderers (no shit... this is the title)

Newcastle Jets Head Coach Phil Stubbins has today named an initial 17 player squad to take on Western Sydney Wanderers at Hunter Stadium on Saturday night.
All 16 of the players involved in the matchday squad for last round’s narrow 2-1 defeat to Brisbane Roar are again in line to feature, while youngster Nick Cowburn has been promoted to the extended squad.

New recruit Travis Cooper played for the Jets Youth team against Sydney FC Youth on Wednesday, and will no doubt be in better shape should he take to the pitch against Wanderers thanks to his exertions against the junior Sky Blues.

South Korean left back Lee Ki-je has looked sharp in training this week, and though he made his debut for the Club from the bench last round, the former Shimizu S-Pulse man may be in line to start.

Kick-off against Western Sydney Wanderers this Saturday afternoon is 5:00pm.

Tickets can be purchased here.

Something is seriously wrong at the club when a fan has no expectation of winning, hope is non existent as it has been dashed a long time ago and I am actually excited about the prospect of us losing as I will achieve more satisfaction in Stubbins looking like a fool AGAIN than actually seeing us salute with a win.

Well Done Stubbins/GVE/Middleby/Palmer/Tinkler etc for making me feel this way.

Needs to get even worse before it gets better, imo.
I can't see any light for at least 12 months.
When/if FFA decide to play hard ball with Tinks, Tinks is going to draw it out and make an absolute shambles of the whole thing.
If a new owner comes in and offers Tinks some $$$, I'm curious to see whether he'd take it. Regardless, for the effects of a new owner to kick in, would take us 1-3 seasons to rebuild this mess.

Seen him play when the Jets were up in Townsville where they picked him up from. Didn't look too bad and he is quick. Got a pretty decent scoring record in the NPL aswell not that it counts for much in the A-League.

So pissed off

We took 53mins at home today to have a ****ing shot against the team coming last. That is just not good enough. Results matter but FFS I want to be entertained and get excited about the game. That was as boring a game as I have seen in 3-4years.

Credit to our player agents picking the team they had the boys having a go and trying for the fans at least.
As for Stubbins his subs?? FMD Takes off Hoole again?? Why??
Waits until 20mins to go also despite us being massively on the back foot.

Can the Player Agent be consulted on the subs?? He is doing a much better job at getting us competitive than Stubbins does

Two shit pens by the ref. Handball has to be intentional doesn't it. What was intentional about either of them?? Both defenders were unlucky and that has been denied to us 3-4 times this season. Where is the consistency??

I agree, with pretty harsh calls.

Game as a whole, boring negative football by both teams. Lee is a highlight and if this club is serious about this change of culture bullshit, then they need to sign him long term ASAP. They won't though, it will be a suck it and see till the end of the season and we will lose him to the Smurfs.

With the Flares, aren't the WSW sitting on a suspended fine/loss of points for crowd issues? Surely tonight would have to be an issue.

And it's f'ing depressing. I'm not even sure if tinkler being shown the door would fix it... The heart and soul of the club has been ripped out imo, there's no connection there at all.

Also, silent protest by the squadron tonight? I don't mean for this to come out the wrong way... But I think you guys picked a pretty poor game for that. The ground was the loudest it's been all season today, the protest would have gone unnoticed on tv?

Hey mitch. Your first part pretty much sums up the mood.

The squadron had heaps away tonight thus the minimal noise. The 5pm is a crap time for me. 7.30 I would have made it.

this is just a general point. Ive never understood why the silent majority whinge when the chanting minority aren't loud enough or don't turn up. People shouldn't complain if they aren't willing enough to join in or help out when numbers are low. What is this mentality? can someone explain?

The squadron is a small group but full of willing people who have a go and have heaps of fun.

Detonators. As used on train tracks to warn workers ahead of an imminent danger

In light of issues society faces with terrorism the question really should be asked as to why serious charges are not being laid against those responsible. When I heard them my initial thoughts were an explosion bomb had gone off with the bangs. Took a couple of seconds to realise it was not what I thought it was.

What a dull match. Is it just me or we do the GVE at the back the go back to 1980's UK football with the long ball in an effort to spark an attack? We offered nothing in the final third. Too many long balls were easily cut out (particularly the diagonal passes).

Luckily we haven't faced a good team since the "Night of the Cull"

Did you see Stubbins when they got the penalty? Damn near sh1t himself. When we got ours he went behind the bench to pray. I could here the sigh of relief all the way over in bay 6.

We did it all few times in the guise of a 352. Stubbins was hailed as a tactical genius because we beat Adelaide using it... No one seemed to notice that they pretty much played us off the park. No one seemed to notice that we got torn apart down the middle on a half dozen occasions and that they butchered a bunch of one on ones.
