It was a powerful shot, centre of the goal, roughly waist height... to actually parry that so it goes out for a corner runs the risk of him parrying it directly into goals and being called out for that. It's not like he was sprawling close to either corner and parried it into play. Mullen is entirely to blame for that goal IMO.

Totally agree. Pretty disappointing from Mullen tbh who has been quite good. It's one thing not to get to Ibini before he shoots but to not back up the rebound is criminal.

1st goal is the midfields fault. CB's are doing their job, pushing up to get the strikers offside. Brosque strolls through with no one tracking the run and the passer is able to make a cup of tea before delivering the ball. BK could have done better for sure but can hardly be blamed for being beaten 1 on 1

**** I forgot BK is never responsible for anything

No mate, I think BK is an absolutely shite GK but if he parries it to go out as you are suggesting and it ends up going in, you are having a go at him for that instead. Choose your battles when ragging on BK, this isn't one where you can likely win.

Stick with goal 4, that was absolutely diabolical.

it wasn't a point blank save
he could've parried the ball sideways even if not to go out for a corner to really shut down the angle of a follow up shot (yes mullen should've been on his toes also)

if youre saying he runs the risk of parrying into his own net then he shouldn't be a goal keeper as they should be looking to parry all shots away from goal (apart from point blank which really youre just looking for any save)

Bang on the money.

Same shit as defensive clearances.

You don't clear it to the top of the d you put it out for a corner or towards the sideline and give yourself a chance to regroup and deal with the next attack.

yeah goal 2 was almost as bad as the 4th for me

Totally disagree with your points on goal 2.

No issue if he parries a fierce shot but I was under the impression you parry it out for a corner or towards the sideline and not back in the direction he did.
It wasn't the only time he done that on Friday and he got away with a few in the first half that could have been just as disastrous.

Whatever he is doing with this tactic needs looking at because to me it isn't good enough to have a keeper at this level parrying balls back into the penalty box
Janko was standing to the side I thought so I'd imagine bk was scared to drop it at his feet.

So he played safe and dropped it back to Ibini's feet???

Yo.
Where all you mongs at? Last night your boy Young stood where you wanted him to stand. Took the first step in the proper direction, dived and STILL got beat. (From a fair distance one might add).

In conclusion, there are such things as great free kicks.

Cheers,

Fact that Young saw it late didn't help him either.

Just like Biraz against Bosnar. 45 yards werent enough it seemed.

Didnt realise all those other keepers had x-ray vision.

Much as BK haterz go on as if he is the same keeper he was 4 seasons ago.

BK was actually fazed and came through that hard time a better keeper, not perfect, but a good keeper.

I don't think I understand what you're saying by "stood where you wanted him to stand".

Looks to me, particularly at the 1:05 onwards angle, that he's standing where every keeper stands - in between the wall and the exposed post. And he got beaten over the wall. Also looks to me he's off his line a lot more than normal.

Who wants him to stand there?

His dive actually reminds me a lot of how BK dives though. Seemingly late, and there's not a huge amount of spring in his jump so his body is very low, and hands not as high as you'd expect for a keeper.

I agree there are such things as great free kicks.

I still believe BK is poor at handling free kicks - in terms of general organisation as well as legit attempts at stopping good, and bad, attempts at goal.

its not about who the best man is, its about who the best keeper is.
lets not get personal and start discussing what type of blokes they are.

Look forward to dissecting Birraz's performances every week as we are #moving_forward and BK's posture on the bench
