Livingston just offered me MONEY for Bridges. Hand bitten off, thank you very much.

And unlike the PREVIOUS researcher, our own soccerjoel hasn't got Bridges as a club legend so when you !@# him off to Scotland for peanuts, the fans don't riot.
Heskey, Griff and LJUBO - brilliant.

Amazing first game.
Beard to Goodwin, goal.
Heskey to Griff, goal.
Griff to Goodwin, goal.
Goodwin to Taggart, goal.
4-1 over the Smurfs. Their goal was a dubious penalty by ADP who booked Carney for standing behind him when he took a dive.

birraz came under deadline day contact from parma for 2 mil but also held onto him as i didn't have a backup after BK
SK: Biraz
WB: Brillante
BPD: Chapman
BPD: Jaliens/Reegz (they both are rotating)
WB: Carney
DLP: Paartulu (absolute beast)
BWM: Zads
BBM: Kanta
IF: Hoole
ST: Taagz
IF: Goodwin
Have Roma sniffing around Birraz - I have back up for BK but the gap from Birraz to BK is huge then BK to Solari/Martin is another huge step down. Not sure if I will sell given that deadline day is fast approaching and an equivalent GK might be hard to obtain unless they offer stupid money.
Playing 4-2-2-2
Birraz
Neville/Chapman/Jaliens/Carney (though Regz and Jaliens rotate, same as you)
Kanta/Beard
Griff/Goodwin as wingers
Heskey/Taggart
I don't play a striker on the bench so Hoole/Virgili both have spots and I can easily switch it up to 4-2-3-1 anyway and play Heskey/Nakic/Griff in behind a lone striker.

My favourite bit about the Jets is that all of the backroom staff are RUBBISH and ALL think they are good enough to walk into any job anywhere so gladly accept mutual termination free of charge.
Deans OUT, Healey IN
Regen scout OUT, 3 blokes all with double your stats IN
Dingle OUT, 2 new physios IN
Almost booted Catlin as well but the replacement GK coach wanted way too much money.
Pretty sure a feature of FM for a while now is upon starting a new stint at a club, all staff members will accept mutual termination

So is their any negative feedback. Btw I gave Chapman -8 potential (randomly between 130 and 160). I'm not sure if that is too high. I thought he is the most prodigious of our young talents but if clubs like PSG are chasing him maybe I need to tone him down a little bit for FM15.

As joel said, all depends on grunt power of your machine. But more importantly... it depends on how patient you are. Nothing to stop you from loading EVERYTHING and just waiting 5 minutes every time you press continue.
I run England/Germany/Spain/Italy/France/Holland/Australia/Argentina/Brazil ALL available divisions then add players ALL current internationals, ALL players of national rep or higher then ALL players of Australian nationality. Makes about 70,000 players/staff in the DB, I think.
Anyway...
Game 4 - DERBY DAY
Gypo Keeper to Gypo, 0-1 (yes, route 1. well in Mossy)
Griff to Heskey, 1-1
Heskey to Taggart, 2-1

Neville did not play well at left back. Moved Carney to DL, Taggart to the left, Hoole to the right and played 4-2-3-1 with Griff in behind Heskey. Griff did not play well, replaced him with Nakic, natural AMC.
Two assists. Managerial genius, me.

Playing against Roar, got absolutely dominated in the opening 15 minutes (60-40 possession and all the territory) so moved Heskey back in behind Taggart in my 4-2-3-1. Hour in, have swung it 61-39 in my favour and just scored a goal that had 20 passes before a Taggart backheel and Heskey flick to Griff resulted in the net bulging. :fap:

I'm tempted to start a new jets game but I've been playing a game with Fleetwood town in league 2. Finished 12th first seaon and was facing the sack. Board told me to get 9 points out of the next 15 to keep my job. New season come in and I hit that target exactly and I also knocked off a championship side in the capital one cup aswell. I'm really enjoying the game so I don't really want to start again.

Bradbery thrust back into the starting XI after Heskey pulled a hamstring. Could have moved Griff from the right to the centre and started Hoole... but Hoole already has 21 appearances this season, so more than happy to keep him off the bench.
Dropped points to Heart again. 22-2-0 with 69 for, 17 against. Pushed past that 3 goals per game mark I was hovering on. A ridiculous 32 points clear of Heart in second spot.

During the break I let Kew and Gibbs depart once their contracts were done. Also mutually terminated Pepper and Zads. Caravella was bought by the team that had him on loan and Pescara came in and bought Solari.
Spira in on a free after WSW didn't offer him a contract. Paying him a paltry £925 per week. Also bought in Tombides on a free.
Was rejected by Chris Herd and Brad Smith who I think would both have signed had I had another 2k per week to offer them :(
Griff, Carney, Heskey, Brown, Regan, Beard, Byrne, Taggart, Gallaway, Bradbery, Virgili, BK all coming off contract at seasons end. Definitely want to keep all of them bar BK but depends on Heskey and Griff wage demands. They won't be marquee value by seasons end, methinks.

So I'm on a cup run with my Fleetwood team. Capital One Cup quarter finalist with a league 2 team I think is a good achievement considering I've beaten 2 championship teams along the way, (Watford 3-1 aet at home and Wolves 3-0 at Wolves). I am facing my biggest challenge next round though when I come up against Man Utd. I was hoping for a home game as it would give my finances a small boost but no, I have to travel to Old Trafford.
Actually struggling in the league at the moment position wise, 9th position on 24 points. 1st place is on 33 points. Hoping I can pick up my form, especially at home as that is where I seem to struggle more.

You still able to do what you use to in previous editions where you would make a shitload in preseason from friendlies???
Use to play every day and put a shit load of triallists on the books for a month and bring the yoof sides up. Made a shitload and kept my first team being used sporadically so as not to burn them out. Flogged the **** out of my triallists though who I had not intention of signing.

Chapman to Roma - £1.3m
Neville to Norwich - £275k
Goodwin to Celtic - £1.6m
Jets have won the league and GF in season 1 then backed it up with a second GF win the year after.

Started a game as Australian manager.
Results so far Slovenia 2-1 loss Away, Canada 2-0 win home, South Africa 2-0 loss away, Paraguay 4-3 win away and Peru 1-1 away.
Only one game so far lined up, vs Ghana away.
EDIT:
I had a 2-2 draw with Ghana. Should of won, dominated them, they scored a last minute equaliser.
Drawn in Group B in World Cup, Along with Germany, France and Ivory Coast.

It's currently 50% off on Steam but that's still a rip off as it was 75% only a few weeks ago.
If you don't mind a bit of cyber fraud and want to put in US address details, you can get it on Amazon for $25. It's all digital so you essentially just have to lie about where you live.
It has no discount whatsoever on GMG where I bought it http://www.greenmangaming.com/s/au/en/pc/games/strategy/football-manager-2014/
However... Steam is in the middle of their (US) Summer Sale, so if you keep tabs on both Steam and GMG, there is a high likelihood that you can get if for <$20 at some point. It's been as low as $12.50 and that was around a month ago to celebrate the upcoming World Cup.

If only real life was as good as in game.
Clacka is STILL in charge at the Jets and has just guided them to finals football for the 5th straight year with only ONE year missing finals series since the game started.
Brillante, Regan, Gallaway, Kantarovski and Brown have all had testimonial games and still at the club. Brendan Hamill must have signed early on after Chapman left for Europe and he has also amassed over 200 appearances.
Still haven't won the grand final since the 3peat back in 14/15/16 though.
Joey Gibbs is approaching Lord Griff's all time goal scoring record and at the age of 30 and still another year on his contract, I can see it happening.

Jets have started 2023 season in a mess.
Joey Gibbs testimonial match was a 3-1 win against Marconi however the Brillante testimonial was a 2-1 loss against South Coast Wolves.
Then 2-1-4 start to the season and December 2023 rolls around... Clacka might be finally getting the sack. 10th in the league.
Thought he was gone last season. Had a run from 11th October to 17th December without a win... then a single win followed by 4 more losses. Then went on an amazing run... only ONE loss in the league, from 10th to 5th. Lost in the finals but saved his job.
They are playing a flat 4-4-2...
Velaphi
Regen - Regan - Hamill - Regen
Regen - Brillante - Macura - Regen

Well I'm still playing FM12 and took Fiorentina from 17th at the start of November to go unbeaten for the remainder of the season and win Serie A, with ALOT of help from Jovetic and Bony, combined 48 goals.
Was on my way to another unbeaten season when Villa came for my services after Ralf Rangnick had them in 17th in February, so I steadied the ship and got the boys to 7th including a 6-0 home win against United (who are unbelievably, still managed by David Moyes)
It's 2018 at the end of February and I'm sitting top of the table with 72 points from 26 games and a 23-3-0 streak, my current top scorer is Oxlade-Chamberlain with 19 from the RW

Squad was an absolute shambles. Binned off Gibbs and Velaphi as their contracts were up, told Beard (FFS joel, how did you make Chapman the greatest Socceroo of all time yet make Beard so rubbish?) and Gallaway that their contracts weren't being renewed then hunted for some players. The centre backs at the club are okay regen, potentially okay but not developed regen and Brendan Hamill who might have been good once but certainly isn't now.
In came 20 yo Venezuelan centre back (with 20 caps) inside the cap and Iraqi right winger as Marquee to replace the awful Marquee the club had. When I briefly took over Australia (maybe 6 years ago?), I found this guy and capped him... and he hasn't gotten any better from then. Probably due to never leaving Australia.
Did a quick search of the state leagues and picked up 6 players for the game capped 3.2k each. One of them, a 17yo striker, has gone straight into the starting lineup and has 6 goals in 4 starts. That's more than the rest of the team had scored before I took over.
Updated to the 2013 Model from 2008 the other day.
Took over Basingstoke in the BSS with the goal of avoiding relegation.
Have spent the season fluctuating between 8th-16th spot. Currently in 14th Spot with 12 games to go.
Considering have no money and have kept the bulk of squad quite content. For some reason despite staying well inside the wage budget am running at a 120k debt each year
Have basically put all players up for sale and have only replaced what I removed.
Next season looks better with the opportunity to shape the squad more to my liking as everyone is off contract and I am renewing only about 5 of them.
Tactics have been inspired by the need to keep it tight to avoid relegation with my inept squad 5-3-2 playing on the counter with hoof ball the go and training being devoted to defence.
No Tika Taka
As a result have a pretty solid defence conceding at similar rates to the best sides in the division. Problem though has been the goals scored being low also. So far have had Eight 0-0 draws in the BSS.
Can't wait to get the season done to kick on next year and the start the journey up the league

Why not FM14 given you can get it for <$15 these days?
In game news... Jets last after 12 rounds, without a win, with just 4 points on the board.
In comes Grim Ario, reshapes the squad top to bottom, pushes Jets up into 6th spot with 2 games to go, smashes coasties on the road to make finals football a certainty as 7th place scum can't catch us. Now, if Perth can do the business in week 27, that means the scum miss the finals after 24 previous weeks in the top 6.
*edit* Perth didn't even need to win... Nix thumped whoever they played and made 6th spot unattainable :D
Why not FM14 given you can get it for <$15 these days?
Rather try playing back in the days before GVE actually fully damaged the Jets squad for ever.
Actually nearly ****ed up my Basingstoke game. Got an offer for my keeper so got rid of him to save a few bucks. Being where we were were with 10 or so games to go thought we would be right without him as relegation was a bit out of reach.
Decided to go with the 17 year old to save a few bob as that is starting to become an issue
**** that went well.Well it weren't his fault no great issues from him but the rest of the ****s slacked off and the Club went on a 8 game losing spree and required a win on the final day of the season. Well we didn't need to win but we were still in prime position to stay up with a win guaranteeing it.
Boys delivered with a 4-3 win with the winner scored in the 89th minute:pissup:
Spent the off season gutting the **** out of the squad. Am just about to finish pre season and get into it.
Must say I loved the feature where they offer you a wage. I actually knocked my wage down to the bare min allowed and got another 2 staff out of the deal.

Comfortable 2-1 victory away to Brisbane in the elimination final.
A proper ding dong battle in the semi final against heart... 2-0 down at HT, 3-3 FT, 6-4 win in ET.
In grand final now away to Adelaide... 1-1 FT, 1-1 ET. 11-11 after 11 penalty shots each... then to 13-13 until Jozy Altidore, Adelaide's marquee missed. 20yo Maltese superstar regen (Aus Maltese, I have a wannabe Hutcho, ffs) steps up and slots it in to win 14-13. Mental.

Hmm, the Jets have made two VERY good signings which might influence the outcome a bit.
Former Deportivo/Athletic Bilbies keeper, Aranzubia, and Kerem Bulut.
Actually, never mind. That was in the Jan window, Jets were already battling for 2nd then.
Jets champions games to spare.

So... you either rate Griff much higher than he actually is or whoever does Perth doesn't rate Keogh. Keogh is faster, stronger and better in the air... but Griff is better everywhere else.
Steele... wow. He's better than the two best left winger/mids (Broich/Carrusca IMO) in the league, by a fair margin.
Carney positioning of 10? Think you added an extra 0 there.

3 years of holidaying and so far, not missing the finals. 1st, 3rd, 3rd with GF loss, EF loss, EF loss.
Griff missed 4 weeks with an injury otherwise would likely have gotten golden boot this year as well (1 behind Archie).
Virgili has been released every year.
Jeronimo has been sold every year.
One other player has been released every year (Gallagher 1st, Cooper 2nd, Gallaway 3rd).
Aranzubia has been signed all 3 seasons in the Jan window.

4th, EF loss to PG.
Virgili, Gallaway, Welsh all release. Jeronimo sold for £550k.
Aranzubia and Bulut both signed.
Griff only 3rd in golden boot for a change.
Also, interesting to see that Eugene has been GKOTY in all games and Georgievski has been POTY every year apart from when Griff won.

Who would you say (or anyone on here, really) is the best GK in the HAL? One of the three -vic keepers?
Biraz shits all over them. You've made him a fairly fantastic well rounded keeper.

He is roughly on par with some starting GK's in Championship and almost all bench keepers. If he was really that good, we wouldn't have constant foz arguments about whether BK deserves a shot back in goals.

Don't know if this is a data issue or a bug but NONE of the Phoenix Fgn players have work permits.
They have, as a result, gone on a signing spree and picked up Mahamadou Diarra and Nikola Zigic (amongst others) as their 5 non AU/NZ players. Tidy bit of business... both are only on £1k a week.
Grimario

So, in my game with Jets, I have done what the AI has done most games... signed Bulut.
Paying him £800 per week compared to whatever Montano was on (loan canceled), and doesn't take up a Fgn spot.
Released Welsh, Gallagher and Regan, signed Oxborrow (scouts rate him, so why the feck not bring him back?) and some kiwi defender from South Melbourne, James Musa. Was not paying attention, thought it was Oz flag so didn't realise he was Fgn :(
Caravella, Celeski, Virgili, Gallaway, BK all on the OUT list if I can get anyone to take them.
Beat South Melbourne 3-1 (scout recommended Musa from this game) in FFA Cup 1st Round.
Beat CCM 3-1 in 2nd round.
Beat Roar 4-2 in 3rd round.
Results in the league so far are 3-2, 3-2, 3-3 and currently 1-0 up away to Perth after they were thumped 8-2 by Adelaide the week before.
Griff has 8 goals in 6 games.

Birraz isn't slow, I'm satisfied with his pace, maybe i'll take it down by 1 or 2 but i'll definitely lower his mental attributes / aerial ability
BK has random pace. i've noted it and it will be fixed in the mid-season data update

Playing the beta for a bit. Looks great. First game I flogged Marconi 6-2 in FFA cup. Didn't save so started again. Took an 89th minute goal from the griff to get past Sunshine Coast 2-1.
Worrying thing, Jaliens was granted a leave of abscence in the first game I played, second game wouldn't take leave of abscence and left the club on a transfer back to holland. Will be starting a whole new save when I download the full release so not an issue untill than.

taggart said no to me for loan. what season are you in?
First season. 3 prong front line with Steele and Griff on either side (Lundy covers both, Bulut covers middle), Flores or Rogic in behind with some combo of Kanta/Pepper/Barker-Daish behind them. Back 5 picked itself after Kew left but picked up a Brazilian by the name of Claudio who is playing first team now that I have Madaschi on the release list.
Have had to play Gallaway for a bit as Carney was off at the Asian Cup (which we won, woo) but just picked up Alistair Quinn on a free from Telstar to cover both flanks, so pleased with that bit of business.

Won the league by a ridonkulous margin.
21-6-0 with 86 goals, 34 conceded.
Griff scored 24 in 26 games. Taggart on loan for second half did 10 in 13. Flores 9 in 23, Steele 8 in 25, Bulut 6 in 12. GK's, back up fullback (Alistair Quinn) and Carney were the only players not to get at least one goal.
Griff also assist king with 14. Lundy, Pepper, Neville all with 10, Flores and Steele with 8.
Coasties got the spoon, shipping an A-League record 62 goals and only getting 19 points.
Lowe sacked at seasons end, Perth second last.
Muscat sacked after a 1-1-4 stretch that included a 4-0 loss to City (who finished 2nd).

I thought I had posted about it in here but apparently not...
A few months back, I saw FM Scout doing a Twitch stream of a game they were running... I didn't watch it but they had loaded an English 12 tier pyramid DB which I thought I would give a go. Started unemployed and was offered the job at Hemsworth Miners Welfare FC (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hemsworth_Miners_Welfare_F.C.).
I LOVE lower league football. Non contract players, no one on more than a year contract means you can rapidly improve your squad each season and climb the ladder. I'm in 18/19 now and have been promoted by winning the league every season.
23-13-2 in Toolstation Northern Counties East Division One
23-7-2 in Thurlow Nunn Eastern Counties Premier
33-8-1 in Ryman League Division South
42-4-0 in Ryman League Premier
I've won the FA Vase and Isthmian League Cup twice. Currently off to a 4-0-0 start in the Vanarama Conference North and am hotly tipped to win promotion.
I originally relied on a huge number of loan signings as there was zero limit on how many you could have and all of them come for zero wages. However, in Conference North, you are limited to 5 in your squad... but I have gradually picked up young players dropped from big academy clubs. Big "name" signings are all Man Utd youth players - Josh Doughty, Joe Rothwell, Marcus Ashford - plus a few from City (Kjetil Haug and Emanuel Vasi).
Finances will really start to hinder my promotions in the future... the club has started stadium redevelopment (see above...) at a cost of just under £1m. This is a massive drain on my finances given that the annual wage budget is only around £60k... loan repayments are fierce and I am probably going to go into administration this season, possibly next, if one of my Man Utd recruits isn't sold for big coin :(

Signs Nick Carle and Bobby Naumov as scouts, Toby Horak (Perth Glory fitness coach), David Joyce (GWS physio??) and the clubs first player signing in 4 seasons... the real life 6 years in the making signing of Iqbal Jawadi from South Melbourne. Poor BK.
Started a Jerks game and he's barely played a game, even with Biraz out on loan. He's managed two FFA cup games, kept two clean sheets against South Coast United and Blacktown FC. Then he suffered a hip injury, has kept him out till early December. Finally comes back to full fitness and then breaks a finger, another two months out.
And I've re-signed Solari to a full time contract which has magically made him ineligible for the first team because it was AFTER squad rego was due and he was only eligible as a youth player before. Sigh. This game, ffs.

I have a dirty gypo in goals. To be fair, he has kept a clean sheet in half of the games. Also never conceded more than a single goal in a game.
PS I did bring back the Griff. He has 9 in 12. Mullen is somehow my second highest scorer with 6 in 14. Montano only has 1 in 9 (missed a heap on Int duty). Wee Scott Mac has 1 in 13 but he is playing behind the front pair and leads the league in assists with 6 (Leaky G has 5).

Create your dream team and take on your mates in ‘Fantasy Draft’ mode. Starting with a fixed budget, each manager builds a squad from scratch, competing with other managers to sign the best talent before going head-to-head against one another in a mini-league.
New Game Mode – Create-A-Club
For the first time, Football Manager 2016 allows fans to add their own custom-built club to any league they choose, through the single player ‘Create-a-club’ mode. Create-A-Club allows you to name the club, add yourself and friends to the line-up, edit the squad to your heart’s content and even choose the colours.
Multi Match Highlights
A highlights package available to easily view other fixtures in your own competition (or others) to keep you up-to-date with everything that’s going on in the world around you.
Prozone Match Analysis
Sports Interactive’s partnership with the leading sports statistics provider, Prozone, has seen a wide reaching revamp of the in-game match analysis tool, adding lots of useful functionality whilst also making it a lot more prominent and easier to use.
Set-Piece Creator
Football Manager 2016’s powerful, yet easy-to-use set piece creator allows managers to set up multiple set piece routines to be used across multiple tactics; with different set pieces for each set piece taker, new zonal marking options and much, much more.
Expanded Press Interaction
Press conferences are more varied than ever before, with many new conversations to be had with the press, especially more contextual questions & responses. In addition, unemployed managers can now use media interviews to help get them back into the game.
Football Manager Touch – Cross-Save
All versions of Football Manager Touch 2016 are 'cross-save compatible' with one another, so a career started on a tablet can be saved to the cloud and continued on computer (and vice versa).
More Realistic Injuries
Sports Interactive has worked alongside a number of physiotherapists, doctors and related organisations to ensure that the depiction and treatment of injuries in Football Manager 2016 is more realistic than ever before. This doesn’t mean that fewer injuries will be sustained, but that those which do occur will be treated and develop more realistically. Injuries will now be determined during matches, while new injury types have been added and there is now a tangible distinction between player condition and match sharpness.
And Much, Much More
Further additions and updates include staff shortlisting, improved manager and staff movement, revised board requests, a revamp of board confidence, more contextual team talks, fully updated competition rules & squad information, an improved financial module, improved AI transfers and team selection, new social media features and many more – all of which combine to make Football Manager 2016 the most complete and immersive simulation of football management ever.

Have any of you folks got around to playing FM16 yet?
I made the Jets a fair bit worse but Grim will surely still win them the league next season
If the wins keep coming IRL i'll have to make them worse again

Have been playing in holland with a team called Almere FC. Got promoted first season even though I finishrd 7th in the table (crazy rules over there, I won the promotion/relegation playoffs).
Have climbed from relegation contenders into a mid table team. I really like it. Haven't tried a jets game yet which is what I usually do first. I may do it sometime.

I love the Dutch rules. Reckon they'd be perfect for an a league format without finals.
