I don't see it. If anything it seems he wants the WSW job when Poppa leaves, which realistically is as soon as Arnie leaving FC.

:woo: it's been a while since we've had a non-MFKS blow up.
We need more.
One thing I see as a potential benefit of Rudan, as well as Okon or Milicic, is that they are younger. They would better understand how to get in the head of the younger generation. I'm not saying the older coaches can't.
I agree with other's points on analysis - Rudan appears to have this as a strength. But who knows if this is getting fed to him by some boffin in the studio!
Personally, I voted for Okon.

Read the two links provided by lil_massi, after what we went through with Muppet it was refreshing to here him say that it is important to communicate with the players and have their trust. Hadn't heard that.
I would expect Taggz to head to Fulham get fit and see how next season pans out for him.
A good preseason and he may end up in Fulham's first team equation. If it don't get in the picture by the time September rolls around he can look at his options and get himself a loan elsewhere in UK Europe or back to Australia as the HAL don't start to October.
Why he would look at teeing himself up a deal in Australia now defies logic. He will be in demand enough in September / October with Australian clubs if he became available
There would be little reason for him to act now

I read it from Duvatuvic in his "Studs Up" blog on FoxSports website. It was a one liner and nothing more.
Maybe Taggz is seeing the need for first team football because he's behind quite a few, possibly better, strikers such as Ross McCormack and Hugo Rodellega.
I agree, closer to the end of the transfer window is when he needs to move, and even then it needs to be overseas.

I said a year ago Taggart was going too soon. He had one good season and going to a WC probably boosted his agents spruikings.
I thought at the time another year here (not factoring in the years mayhem) would do no harm, he would go through "follow up season syndrome" and we would get a true idea of how good he was. I was also fearful of the damage a season in the Championship would do to him physically.
Opinion hasn't changed - will be strange to go back to Perth as he left to get opportunity elswhere.

34 Appearances for WSW 12 goals
7 appearance for Adelaide 2 goals
41 games 14 goals

Have to disagree with comparing Juric to Simons. Simons is the same player (albeit now slower and less effective) he was when he first started in the A League....he is your old-style, in-your-face, work-horse, all "arms and legs" with all heart but not much nous as a striker.
Juric is hardly a donkey, Ange must see something in him otherwise why would he have picked him for the Asian Cup? Still young he has shown he has the qualities of making a very good striker, technically good on the ball, strong in the air and possesses a very strong shot.
His goal to game ratio may not look great but from what I've seen he has come off the bench for the WSW in a lot of those games.
In the last 12 months I don't think Poppa has managed him very well and he has not been able to get a consistent run of games in the starting XI.
Reckon he just needs a coach to back him and put him at the focal point of the attack for a good run of games and he will start scoring on a more regular basis.
On Taggart, reckon he has Heskey to thank for getting injured in pre-season last season and to where his career is at now. The fact that Heskey was out for most of the first half of the year allowed Taggz to establish himself as the first choice #9 and good on him for taking the opportunity with both hands. If Heskey was fit, Taggz probably would have remained on the fringes again like the season before and probably played a wide role.....just shows how someones misfortune can lead to someone getting a lucky break.
I do agree Taggz>Juric. Taggart is still being linked with a loan move to Perth, right?
Ditto. **** me we're shambles. Should be after Taggart if he is sniffing a return.

I'm not getting the Rudan thing. The FFA need to get it right with us and it is a big risk appointing any coach, and even riskier appointing an unproven one.
We have a massive roster to fill and is Rudan going to be a drawcard? Personally, I'm not convinced.
As I always take the line are the FFA need us to succeed for the sale of the product both to TV and potential owners.

Rudan talks the talk but I would prefer someone with experience. We are essentially starting from scratch and we need an experienced head. A Merrick, Arnold, JPDeM, Vidmar. I think Jones would be a better option than Rudan but he doesn't have Rudan's public profile. I suspect Rudan will go okay, but he is a high risk candidate.

Yeah an "experienced head" is what we need but Merrick and Arnold have A League jobs already. JP has returned to Sydney because of a sickness in the family and Vidmar is happy to stay with the Socceroos. Heard that Ian Ferguson's name was also mentioned but we know what he is about and I don't think most supporters are fussed by his whole style as a manager and the style his teams play.
I agree with Jones as an option but like you said he just doesn't have the profile and probably the contacts that Rudan has to be able to attract quality players to the club initially....and the way our squad is at present this is something of paramount importance, being able to attract players to a club which is virtually starting over again. The new manager will almost have to be like a salesman, trying to make new players see that there is something worthwhile and to be a part of at the Newcastle Jets again....not the pile of stinking faeces that Tinkler and Stubbins had left it in!!!
I really don't get all the Jones love on here.. Fvck that guy..

Probably Juric is a little over-rated and gets more attention in respect to what he has actually achieved as a player. The thing is many, including someone like Ange (who has been proven right so many times in his faith in players over the past 5 years) can see huge potential in him.
They are not looking at Tomi Juric the player now, they are looking at what Juric can become as a player given the right management and direction. That is why Ange has been including him in his Socceroo squads, to expose him to a higher level so that he can become better and realise his potential.
If he is to come to the Jets, given the right environment and opportunities, who is to say he can't go to the next level a la Taggart???

Blacktown city have been one of the premier clubs in NSW NPL for the last few years. Why the push for Rudan? Crittenden's team are more successful
Then all including Rudan's. For the record under Crittenden, Blacktown have developed 4 or so A league players in last few years including sean rooney and travis major. Bernie Ibini and Matt ryan also came through Blacktown system although not sure of conection with Crittenden.
Point is how many NPL clubs develop players for A league? Not many, most come through NYL. So to get some is a credit to him. Gibbs and Evans have ambition, they are playing at Blacktown for a reason. Newcastle allways gives players/ coaches a go. Why not???

Not a very convincing argument anfield. Rooney is one of many players who promised much at 19-20 years old but he did just not kick on with his A League career at the Jets and where is he now? The name Travis Major rings a bell but to tell you the truth I wouldn't know which A League club he was/is involved with?
Jones hasn't got the greatest of profiles but is still reasonably well known in football circles around Australia, outside of Sydney I doubt anyone would have heard of Crittenden. Who would he be able to attract to the club if players have not heard of him?

Who really cares if coaches are known or not. If they get results thats all that matters. Trent Robinson of the roosters in NRL was unknown in oz, he won a comp and signed Sonny Bill Williams in his first year. Players will sign if the money is right or they are looking for an oppurtunity.
I dont really care who gaffer is. I would stay away from Rudan. Promoting from NPL Leagues is something I would highly consider. Everybody needs an oppurtunity at one stage .
FORMER Socceroos striker Damian Mori has replaced Mark Rudan as the front-runner to take over as Newcastle Jets coach.
Rudan had been the leading candidate, but the Herald understands that negotiations between the former Sydney FC defender and Football Federation Australia broke down last week.
According to sources, the sticking point involved contractual guarantees and a potential settlement should a new owner take control of the club and want to bring in their own coach.
Mori is on a shortlist of young Australian coaches including Rudan, Paul Okon and Tony Vidmar identified by the FFA coaching panel headed by Ange Postecoglou.
The 44-year-old is in his second stint and eighth season in charge of Adelaide City, whom he guided to the quarter-finals of the FFA Cup last season, beating Asian champions Western Sydney Wanderers in the round of 32.
A two-time South Australian coach of the year, Mori has a reputation in his home state for developing young players.
One source told the Herald: ‘‘He can be abrasive, which is seen as arrogance. There is no BS with him.’’
Business interests have kept Mori in Adelaide, but the Herald has been told he is keen to make the step up to the A-League.
The Jets have been without a coach since Phil Stubbins was let go nearly two weeks ago after the FFA took control of the club from Nathan Tinkler.

Under Stubbins, the Jets won just three games on the way to collecting the wooden spoon.
The FFA has offered like-for-like deals to 15 players who were contracted for this season under Tinkler. All bar on-loan keeper Mark Birighitti are expected to accept.
Mori won three National Soccer League championships as a player, one with Adelaide City and two at Perth Glory.
He was twice awarded the Johnny Warren medal for player of the year and won the goalscorers’ title five times.
A supreme predator in front of goal, Mori played the inaugural A-League season for Perth Glory and was elevated to assistant coach halfway through the season.
He returned to Adelaide City in 2006 but was lured back to the A-League on a series of short-term deals at the Roar and Mariners.
On the international scene, Mori scored 29 goals in 45 games in a 10-year Socceroos career and held the record number of goals for Australia until he was surpassed by Tim Cahill last year.
Just what we need
Looks to be a big possibility the coach may be constantly ****ing off back to Adelaide during the season.
Reckon that will work well.

Given we haven't even seen a picture of Damien Mori's sister how could the FFA possibly have him ahead of Mark Rudan for the Jets coaching job ?
