Six strikers ? Theyre all going to be happy there

They will all be happy. Aren't all clubs mandated to coach and play 4 3 3 now as the ffa curriculum dictates. So that's 3 forwards for first grade and 3 forwards for 22s. Perfect numbers

Surely the NPL clubs senior side can do what they want, along with the rest of the club sides. Even though the FFA wants all clubs to be developing kids in line with their current formation

Are you able 2 divulge ? Olympic reunion with goody maybe.? Wouldnt be edgy they signed Mcbreen. Magic have kale faj. Maybe Maitland? Adamstown signed Berlin. Surely wouldn't go to Weston?

I heard jaffas & adamstown,

Apart from the rumoured signing of Dylan Murphy, any news on incomings for Weston? They'll need a few signings with the confirmed departures of L Thornton, Oakley, Subat and Sparre. I'd be surprised to see Cowburn and Monie return, add to that the continued murmurings of C Thornton heading to Maitland. If all these leave, there's some massive holes to fill

It won't be overturned on multiple eye witness accounts including macquarie officials and referees who were there on the day. How do you think it will be overturned? Witnesses 1 2 3 4 5 &6 can you identify the player. The 6 witnesses identify Ryan Clarke. Ryan Clarke's reply, " it wasn't me, it was my mate Nick Harmon".
Ohhhh, ok sorry Ryan , our mistake you can continue playing

I would think that they would have more than 1 witness saying it was him to get the sanction he got.

From the article in todays Herald it seems they are interested in an appeal on the severity of the punishment

Yeah the punishment is excessive no doubt but we all know the rules so play by them.

It also to me indicates some acknowledgement of the illegal player issue being him to be true.
If it was not true the appeal would be based on the wasn't him aspect and it was someone else and they have the wrong man

Does this consequence fit this crime?

I think Kahibah went through anyway so the finals werent really affected.

12 months is a fair wack although this stuff does need to be stamped out.

maybe a fine (money goes to Kahibah and assoc) and shorter suspension? or smash him for longer? idk

Adamstown went through but were rightfully kicked out due to playing with a ring-in. Kahibah went to Semi's instead. I played in this grade and our first game was against a nine-man Adamstown. Think they had issues with numbers a couple of times. There's been a fair bit of publicity compared to what you'd normally see so hopefully it does make players and teams think twice next time. Bringing an NPL player into AA/H grade is a totally unfair advantage.

Without photo evidence it's ones word against another.

From the Herald's article "Macquarie Football, who handle interdistrict disciplinary matters, had received evidence from witnesses who identified Clarke as the player." Plural is used there so it would appear more than one person's word against Clarke. Also don't you think they would need to prove it before issuing a ban?

As MFKS said Maitland have indicated they will be appealing the length of the sentence and not the sentence itself. But I don't see an issue with him being banned from playing for that long, a high profile player with that many years experience deserves to have the book thrown at him simply because he should know better.

Fair enough and I was under the understanding that it was only 1 person who came forward as a witness, also seeing as though he is registered through NNSWF shouldn't NNSWF hand down the ban? I find it strange that NNSWF have left it in the hands of Macquarie as he doesn't fall under their banner.

If he did it then I'm happy for a big ban but maybe not 12 months, either way if I was a Maitland official I would be filthy at him.

So how come Adamstown weren't hit with a large fine or some other penalty for playing a ring in-they must have known and just being kicked out of the final series hardly fits the crime.

They as in the club? It's an all-age team I doubt the club had any idea who played the game until the association told them they had been kicked out. And having the team disqualified from the competition is a serve punishment on the team. Not one of those registered players got to continue to play for any remaining finals games.

Something a bit strange about this case. Somebody obviously knew at the time or had suspicions that a player was unregistered & a ring in or there would have been no complaint. If so & in this day & age when everyone has a mobile phone in their pocket why wouldn't somebody take a photo to provide undeniable proof of the situation. Also if it was a finals game was there no video evidence what so ever? I have no idea if Clarke played or not but if I was in the team that hadn't played against a bloke all year & there was speculation he was an illegal player the first thing I would do is get concrete evidence through a photo that he actually played. I wouldn't rely on a "he said she said" situation which my team may have won or may have been knocked back.

The young guys they promote will make enough mistakes each game through inexperience to cost them points which I think will seal their fate.I hope I'm wrong but they need to get proactive in recruitment or Prycey is in for a hard year.

So three players have left, wow, wheres it say birdy wont be at azzuri, 100+ games for the club now, Surely that would mean something, would mean alot to me, and apparently have a young striker from Manly to partner smithy, never know, he might be a goody, ross will be able to play in his true position this year, laman was their best, as far as i know hes still there, sulini, hughes, ferguson, tully, young minors will go ahead, GK will be better for last year, and i think 22s coach bringing some of his boys to strengthen 22s and add some depth to put pressure on the first graders.
Kept the majority of the 19s to play in U19 comp again, except for two who were promoted to the senior squad at 17, so they should be pretty strong in the 19s.
First grade probably need a Number 10 and a Danny Burt type CB ( Without the reds ), which i hear a couple on the radar, so they will be fine.

I remember a club who play in light blue relegated to Newfm in about 08/09, all first graders stuck together, played Newfm, got repromoted after a couple of years, shame last years team who got relegated didnt have the same sort of player culture at that club. ;)

He commented that 2015 made them as seniors realise that the youth relied on the performance of first grade and confirmed that CCB had some quality youth that the club needed to develop

Plenty of talented youth coming through, and have joined the club, no need to sign 11 superstars, but you never know may be one or two experienced players will be added up on the hill.

Mate the talented youth you speak about is a few years of first grade...... This years 17's didn't offer to much but there are a few from this years 15's that will develop in the coming years but only two of those have made 19's ........but watch the 15yo mid fielder he can play !!!!

But they will take time.........something CCB may not have

Curious about opinions....... with most NPL and some NewFM clubs now commencing serious training and planning trials etc (not forgetting NewFm have their first competitive game on Feb 20th with FFA Cup) at what stage should clubs be allowed to start registering players?

By that I mean, when should clubs feel confident they can lock their sides in and not lose player/s due to late approaches from other clubs? Should FFA allow registrations earlier than January? Would it make much difference?

And it isnt just 1st Grade , I'm considering the Youth Grades also being impacted by possible player merri-go-rounds.

The only thing an amateur player can sign is a player/club agreement which basically outlines club rules and regs, stateing the player must attend training g wear club uniform etc etc, most clubs have these, being registered makes no difference either as an amateur can come and go as they please, the only way to tie a player to a club is to lodge a professional contract with nnswf, this then becomes an expensive exercise as the said player must be on a minimum wage as per A League regulations,

the points system is part of all NPL competitions and was introduced by FFA, NNSWF have nothing to do with its introduction, nnswf actually battled ffa to have the original concept hosed down to suit local football, during the inaugural year the points system was perfect to stop clubs buying and building squads with out promoting developement, FFA went and changed it in the second year and in its current format its worthless, blaming nnswf is way off the mark.

Thanks for that

It's an inter district Como run jointly by Macquarie, Newcastle and hunter valley football. NNSW do not run inter district comps, they only run the premier comps

Good point and it was Lake Macquarie that handed down the ban, still unbelievable that it could be reduced from a year to 4 games. I thought ForeverRed had some other info.

Will always support Azzuri but now will have 2 teams to follow.Won't go to heaps of Olympic games, couldn't afford the canteen prices. Must admit I will miss the big cuppas at Southy next season!

Would love to welcome Benn kelly to Weston. Hopefully he's a decent centreback since the reigning keeper of the year is in between the sticks...

I don't see either Kelly or Pratt being keen to play U22's. Trevor has some juggling to do

Kelly left Maitland because Trott was in goals so I doubt he would go to Weston to play second fiddle

Kelly will play 1st grade at Weston. Pratt hardly ever trains , it is a no brainer

Just all part of Trevor's great plan to have a starting 11 made up purely of goalkeepers.

You'd have to have Scott Carter up front. Terrific target man.

The funny thing is, he is pretty decent player on the field. fitness just kills him.
