The last match between these sides was memorable for a terrible offside call from the assistant referee against Edson Montano.
The Jets have scored in the last 5 matches against the Wanderers.
Last week's match is only the second time the Jets have won after being behind at half time. It was the first time they've won after being two goals behind.

Players

This match will be the first time Ante Covic hasn't been between the sticks for the Wanderers against the Jets.
There was 66 A-League appearances, and 129 matches, between the two goals Ben Kantarovski scored.
Lee Ki-Je has scored in his last 2 appearances against the Wanderers.

Speaking of Pawiak, just shows how in sport luck (or bad luck) can play a big part in getting opportunities. Against Smurfs he was warming up and had got the signal to come and get ready to come on. In the next minute or so Smeltz kicks Birraz in the face and Miller is forced to bring on BK meaning the Jets have used all their subs and Pawiak cannot come on. Just hope he gets another chance at this level.

Jets came out in the second half and cut the wanderers to bits.
We scored a good goal from a set piece and looked to have the game in the bag.
Milos has a brain snap in defence and WSW get a penalty they fully deserved.
Then some sloppy marking at the top of the box gives Bitch Nicholls enough space to get a solid shot on target and into the back of the net.

The Positives for me though is Birraz. He Copped a leg in the head again today and the kid never even flinched.
Add to that the many saves he made and regardless of the scoreline he can go home tonight knowing that he's done the team and the fans proud.

Never thought I'd see the day - but Birraz is now one of my favourite players.

Had my rant.

Birraz + 10. Made some unbelievable saves; some almost point blank.
Still think the soft as puss Pen was an equaliser for what all accounts looks to be offside goal for us.
At the time I though it was an oggie tbh.

I thought with Carney that some of the hype was starting to catch up with him.
Plenty of KISS moments gone begging and turnovers to fancy stuff that wasn't on.

Not even going to call the penalty soft, it was just an absolute brain snap... There was absolutely no reason to even do that, the ball was lofted and had no power meaning any power would have to have been generated by the player at a shit angle, the best wsw could have hoped for was to loft one back across goal where we had an abundance of defenders... Just plain stupid really, should never have been considered.

Still positive signs, but definitely need to sharpen our strikers. Lots of wasted opportunities, and way too much of players trying to do too much

step up to the plate and go into bat for the rest of the A (League) team, they fail and failed miserably.
To be the club that let the sCCuM win their one and only true star is a heavy burden.
No amount of tifo, drumming or stolen chants can ever eradicate that scar from their now tarnished history.

Now, we have some wrongs to be righted next week. Same bat time, same bat channel.

Would have them for life, the passion they show us 3 times any other blokes in the team, not that they don't show it

Interesting point when you break down why we lost, in effect we were let down by mistakes from players being at the "wrong end" of the field. Kanta and Boogs missing one-on-ones in the front third and Milos giving away a silly penalty in the box. Jury is still out on Leonardo, what is letting him down mainly is his decision making which as a #10 is everything. There were so many times yesterday when an earlier pass would have sent someone through but a couple of extra touches and he was corralled in by 3 WSW players and we lost the opportunity.
Milos too has to be more clinical, good strikers put away a good percentage of those half-chances, let alone the easier ones. Having said that if you compare him to Heskey he has some decent attributes that the big man didn't have....first touch is better and overall technique is sharper than Heskey's.
Five matches in both have been a bit hot and cold, the next five they both really need to start hitting their straps!

i still don't think leo has much to work with when it's played in to him, but his final ball is definitely lacking. he's absolutely magic with the ball at his feet though, beats his man every single time.

milos looks to be your typical a-league import; some good stuff, some bad stuff and you'll see some of both in each game. it was a soft penalty but he was so dumb to make that challenge, and he should have buried that header at the death.

He is doing well and as far as i see the only problem we have is that we have no other option to go up and help him if we need it. Haliti on at 60-70 to sit on his shoulder when chasing games would have been our plan B. Now we have no plan B in the final 3rd.

Leo seems to be improving every game, he seems to be able to beat a player most times he has the ball now we just need to either make a quick pass from their or he needs to shoot more. I actually think he is running at defenders outside the box purely to win fouls. We don't do as well once we beat them at the back as when they foul us.

And this is where I thought Brennan would have been implemented.

Surprised we haven't seen Brennan given that he is back from injury. Also surprised we haven't used our bench more... but then again, I am pretty happy we aren't subbing people just to use subs like Nubbins so often seemed to do.

boogs is doing well, not his fault he is still dealing with well ingrained jets mongery

Brennan is coming back after a soft tissue injury with his hamstring I believe. Is being eased back in by playing with the Youth team at this stage.
Yeah when they got their second, Miller had to make a change by introducing fresh legs with either Cooper or Pav or even both.

Make no mistake, f**kwits like Brendan Skylab are the scourge of our game.
(Skylab: useless piece of shit that fell to earth)
On 2nd (and 3rd) look, Milos makes minimal contact and the Del Piero/Ryall protégé goes down all too easily.
Gullible ref looking for a leveller can't blow it quick enuf. Can't get a break with these Sh!tney teams. Been going on since 1978.
Miller said it in the presser: "over the 27 it will balance out"
Never seems to with us mate. Get used to it.

Having watched the replays now and after hereing the guys on shootout last night, yes Santalab clearly duped the ref into awarding the penalty, grubs like him keep doing it but they don't realise it is a blight on themselves and the game.
To be fair though the replays showed that Alivodic was in an offside position and the linesman was correct in his initial call.

yet he'd probably be pretty happy he got them the points...

What we need is to make more subs. Obviously don't make subs for the sake of making them, but in this situation were they levelled the game and then got in front I see no reason why we didn't try and bring on Cooper, Pav or Brennan.
I think Milos will by seasons end have 10+ goals, if he can do that then for me he's been worth having. One game Id like to see how Leo fares on the wing, does a better job at beating his man and Carney has a good eye for some incredible passes so I wonder how they'd go, even for just a half swapping roles.

If Kanta was still on the park I cannot imagine Nicholls being afforded that much time and space to take a shot.

Was Kanta injured ?

he wasn't injured

the way it looked he was hooked for his decision to shoot rather than pass it across goal.

miller was going off his head and he was substituted 30 seconds later.

I thought Miller might have given him a Jessie P for that.

If that's the case I think Miller needs to tread carefully or he will lose the dressing room quicker than he can blink.

He needs to be in control and blowing up is not being in control.

The substitution confused me as well given Cooper was available.

could be wrong but the board went up ten seconds max after that shot.. i think he was already going to be subbed

that's what I thought too. he was off before the goal kick was taken and they didn't hold play up for that long.

someone said they saw him signal to the bench and say he was done, not sure if it happened
I saw carney give the coach a spray about a ball kanta played through over the top forhim which he didn't chase about 2 mins before he was subbed
however so wsw started to boss the midfield more once he went off

Saw Kanta get his calf iced on the bench. Can't remember if it was left or right.

Questioning the lack of subs too, could see the game slipping away. Why not bring on a fresh Cooper in place of Leo who looked shagged?

He and JP orchestrated one of the great comebacks in our history, so I will trust in their wisdom. But it certainly left me scratching my head

There's only been two....but it was definitely the greater of them
Fair call though WolfMan, that gritty win v Fart gave me hope we won't be getting the spoon this year.

I was surprised it took them that long to shot from in front of the box. They picked up the ball there free stacks of times and either indecision or scrambling defence stop the shot.

100% can confirm kanta signalled to bench saying he was spent before anything went down. Watson started warming up. missed that goal and then was subbed
