Thanks for the results shark attack, was a great game on a chilly chilly tuesday night.

From the weekend -
Reserves: Mayfield 1 - Dungog 3
Firsts: Mayfield 4 - Dungog 4

Dungog threw away two 2 goal leads in the firsts game but full credit to Mayfield who kept pushing right to the end and scored twice in the final 10 minutes.

Yeh looked as though most of the team were backing up after playing the reserves game.

Definitely pushed to the end and Dungog sat back far too much in the second half, just wanted the game to be over I think haha.
Cooks Hill pushed right to the end and were only denied the draw by some last ditch defending and great saves by the Dungog keeper.

Sorry if a bum steer was given by the Athfield call earlier today (7:30am).
That field can recover amazingly.
I left it on and went to work at 8am.
The President went down there later and called it off.

Going to be real interesting with catch up's this League; especially with Dungog.
Will you blokes get them all in (6)? What about Uni as well (5)?
Might be a few 1-1 draws called here me thinks.

Dungog with it's 4th home venue this season, hosted Uni at Mayfield on what was a wet, cold sunday!

Gotta shout out to the Dungog players, many of whom actually played twice on Saturday (due to lack of numbers) then backed it up on Sunday with a thread bare squad of 11 players. Put up a massive fight and took a point away from Uni who afaik did not play Saturday and were fighting to close out the premiership. Great effort by the lads and a top game. Interestingly both goals were scored from free kicks in the first half.

Cheers to Uni for showing up at Mayfield on late notice (and lending our keeper a pair of shorts!), was great to actually be able to play.

Bring on Simba wednesday at Raymo who we are actually yet to play...
Games are coming thick and fast.

Dungog 1 - Uni 0 ressies
Dungog 1 - Uni 1 firsts

Congrats to Uni who wrapped up their minor premiership. Again ref's a no show so we had to do with club refs which neither team wants. Thanks to the guys who did it on the day, horrible job.

In firsts was a tough game, again dungog scored first with a towering header from a corner that was eventually scrambled over the uni line. Game started off fairly even but by about halfway through the first half uni got in to more of a rhythm and Dungog were on the back foot for the rest of the half. Was a bit of a backs against the wall effort for Dungog and after a short bit of attacking play by dungog which eventuated in hitting the cross bar, uni broke on the counter, put a ball in from the left which deflected of a dungog head and was crossed back across goal for a tap in. A momentary lapse in concentration by the dungog back-line and uni had their point and the premiership.

Dungog still have 2 games to play against simba and uni on saturday. Need to play and win against Simba but they seem to be continually postponing and delaying the games, a little worrying...

i see zimba forfeited reserve grade on thursday night to dungog , good for dungog in resies should make up the the final 4 in the semis but when i showed up to watch 1st grade there was a least 18 zimba players in playing gear for 1st grade so did zimba have trouble getting to the reserve grade kick off time , piss week if you ask me considering the distance that dungog travelled to be let down by zimba again , most off us this year have to play with less than 18 players and still played both grades regardless off the result , maybe clubs who forfeit mid season should be forfeited from playing in the final series ???? how did the gog go in 1st grade , last i saw it was 1 - 0 to zimba half time.

3-3 in the end shark attack. We (dungog) weren't really up for it in the first half, don't know why, all things considered. They controlled the game in the first half and I would say were pretty comfortable. For the last half hour or so after we made it 1-1 it was a proper match and both teams had chances, we had a couple cleared off the line etc. Shame not to get the 6pts up for grabs. Now we've just gotta get out there and beat Uni on sat :)

Yeh seeing all their players turn up I wondered why they forfeited reserves :/

Stocko was slightly on top for 1st 30 mins then Simba took over. Simba played stocko off the park in the 2nd half and had many opportunities. Was surprised Simba finished below on the table. The bigger field at uni allowed Sim to exploit fitness and pace coupled with a decent passing game.

hi guys sorry for the late responce
what a *ucked up day from scratch , arrived at zimba at 12.15pm by 12.40pm no nets , no dressing sheds open , no lines marked on the field , grass around a foot deep and still no zimba ???? now 12.45pm , between uni and stockton and russel henry we had no choice but to transfer to ray watt 2. by the time we got to ray watt it was around 1.00pm with 1.30pm kick off for resies , the 1/2 hour we had to warm up was spent on getting the field ready to play on ( being stocktons home and no zimba ) thanks to some of the uni guys who help and also trying to get hold of our supporters , sponsors , families and friends which many missed there sons playing in there 1st senior final. due to the zpl on rw1 we had no use the dressing sheds and had to get changed behind the goal mouth , my appologies to the zpl games on rw1 we had no choice and on stocktons behalf we didnt want play at rw2 but had no choice thanks to zimba. 22 of our guys are between 18 and 23 and being in there 1st final for most of them should off been all they were thinking about not the shit they had to go through , uni was always going to be a big ask for and take nothing from them they deserved there win and won well , 1st grade same as our resies all week working on came plans to suit the size of zimbas home ground ( very small ) which all went out the door once we were tranfered to rw2 , take nothing away from zimba ( except they *ucked big time ) but they played the best if seen them play , 3 key injuries to us around half time didnt help , second leg will be at coroba oval , i know the boys from stockton are ready to go and wont hold back wondering what if.

Simba thru on away goals rule. Game finished 3-1 to Stockton and 3-3 on aggregate. Away goal puts Simba through.

Simba played with 10 men for 75 minutes after the striker was sent off for striking. Oh the irony.

Was a keenly contested game with both teams giving it there all. The referee had a great game, very consistent and fair to both teams. Send off was clear and spot on.

RES : Dungog 0 - Cooks Hill 2 (Agg: Dungog 0 - cooks hill 2) cooks hill advanced to GF
FIRSTS: Dungog 2 - Uni 2 (Agg: Dungog 2 - Uni 2) Dungog through on away goal rule.

Firsts- Both teams had plenty of chances in the first half, But Dungog grabbed a goal approx 10 mins in to the game.
Most of the first half Dungog just looked to have the hunger to win and were withstanding Uni's attack well.

Second half, Similar but with Uni starting the stronger, just not creating clear chances in the final third. Dungog started creating quite a few 1v1's midway through the half, with Unis's keeper doing well on many occasions! Dungog grabbed a second with approx 15-20 left (from a keeper error). Dungog seemed to ease off a bit after that and It was then that Uni started pressing hard in search of a goal, getting one with just under 10 remaining and soon had another with minutes remaining. Dungog re-grouped and held out well for the final 10 mins (7 mins injury time!).
Congratulations to Uni on promotion to ZL2, Well done Dungog :) to reach the GF and i must say to both teams on a very very entertaining game Saturday!!!

It has been confirmed to SJFC as of 3pm this afternoon via phone call from NF. Simba were playing numerous players under false names, and we were only able to realise due to players from within our squad having connections with them outside of football, a few went to school with some of them hence they knew their names, which were not present on the team sheet. This has also been confirmed via photos that a fan took on the day and we were able to connect their aliases and numbers to photocard which did not match. NF would not act on this massive occasion on heresay and would only make the right decision based on sound proof of which we had.
I know this may sound like sour grapes from our club, but our boys have worked hard all year to make the grand final fair and square, whereas Simba in this case, although they too worked hard, did not make it in a fair and square manner. NF had to act and in our opinion did so in the right manner. Not the way we wanted to make the final, but rules are there to be adhered too and we and im sure all other clubs have done so throughout the season.

Dungog is not worried who we play, providing we know who! As this puts a spanner in our works, as to how to approach the game. Definitely different tactics for Stockton rather then simba.

Mainly younger players, I'd say the average age of the teams would be around:

Simba - 23 years
Dungog - 22 years
Stockton - 24 years
Uni - 27 years
Mayfield - 25 years
Cooks Hill - 29 years

Bolwarra is another team that could/should step up to ZL. They have quite a few all age teams and good young players. Everyone be down to watch the GF tomorrow? A good crowd would be good! I think it will be a firey and entertaining game

Azzurri really should step up to Z3s

having two teams in AA/A is a bit silly

plus a B grade who finished top

all cool champ , may be sounded a little harsh the way it came out but for sometime know we new there was something going on with zimba. just a shame it had to happen this way. i hope they get whats deserved considering this will affect more than just zl3 , it will affect a few clubs at higher level , weather they want these guys back or not. i am sure the other clubs involved didnt even now these guys have been playing for zimba. now all is out i would like hope that someone ( newcastle football ) give these guys a hand , there not bad guys , just need some guidance , they could be a very good football team.
good luck to the gog , they done very well to even make the semis yet alone the finals , good luck see ya there.

Cooks Hill lost to Uni on penalties in reserve grade

good game that finished 2-2, the penalty shootout was nerve racking, Cooks Hill first to miss after about 10 penalties

a good game all in all and well done to Uni

Well done to uni in ressies.

Firsts was 3-1 to Stockton.
Dungog just didn't show up, well not until they went 3 behind.
But still a good year for our boys, well done. Not bad for a team that doesn't train.
Thanks to all the other teams that came out to support us, sorry we couldn't put in a performance we were hoping for.
Good luck to uni in ZL2!
hopefully a 8 team competition for 2013!!!

Congrats to Stockton. And also to Dungog for the big effort in the second half of the season, including finals. Massive finish to end the season. Hey hey shark attack. I understand where you are coming from in regards to player qualification etc. Way back players and school buddies were often seen turning up for other clubs.

@ ManUTDSupporter. Bolwarra are 5star material for stepping up to a zone league based on current and recent achievements in AA and 16/17/18 juniors.
