well he's taken his shirt off twice?? then he kicked the ball away against Adelaide and and i swear one game he did a silly foul on a defender so that would be 4 (all i can remember)

ahh k will be interesting if we play a 4-4-2 with triffo and nordstrand together. Ive come to sympathize with triffo a bit lately, Sure he's missed alot of chances but most weeks he gets no good or any service and is left out to dry up front by himself (How did miller ever think he was a lone striker :wtf: another amazing decision my millertime)

Being that we are playing Cooper and Cowburn on the left 2 blokes who want to get it on the right all day long and don't look comfortable on that side any chance any of their teammates actually moving to that side of the field and offering them an option instead of standing centrally??
Not ****ing rocket science standing 30-40 m away ain't gonna help them.
Considering Heart can shuffle across in defence what is our players excuse for not shuffling over besides being lazy??
Also it is ridiculous the amount of times we play a needless pass to a bloke in no better position than the bloke who had it and then cough it up when we limit our options

Yeh did notice he did lose a few today. I think however his beating of players far outweighed this. I think he'll be better again for the run. And I believe he was better then last weeks game against Adelaide. Poljak was very sketchy however. Him and alivodic need to go to touch class together. They're both so heavy! I think ugakovic was extremely composed for a youngster. Milos was very good and Nordstrand is already showing extremely positive signs.

This game showed we're not far off from having the team we need.
I wanna see Poljak and Enver benched if next game they don't look that great, they stood out as two of the weaker players I'd say. Put Kanta in Poljak's place and start Nobby over Enver

Poljak as usual was shit, holding up balls when we should be attacking, turning it over - wish Scotty had added an extra mid on that shopping list last month, we need two Steves...

But that's all he did, few times in the first half Leo got the shits with him and in the second half his crosses when wide damn near every time. He works damn hard, but for an international we can do a lot better.
I was hopeful that Poljak next to someone not Watson would do him some favours, and I will say he played better this game then some others, but still not good.

As an ex referee friend of mine pointed out both decisions where correct because the whistle went the pen given, the red card given and the refs decisions are final...... No amount of complaining or debating will or ever have changed a refs decision.... End of.
Good job REF!
The penalty was harsh but have seen them given
As for the red. Well heMorty ws through on goal. The rec ruled it a foul the bloke has to go
Whether it was a foul is debatable. It was a bit of shoulder to shoulder work and I wouldn't have batted an eyelid if he ruled play on
As soon as he awarded a foul he had no choice but to give the red.
Who cares we won

I agree the penalty was debatable, but how many times has that sort of thing gone against us. The ref doesn't have the benefit of replays though.
Send off, I thought that was the correct decision.
I actually thought we were unlucky not to get another penalty later on when sorenson came out feet first to make a save.
All up, it was nice for the decisions to go our way for a change.

Send off shouldn't be debated at all...how many times has a striker put one in the top bin from just inside the box on a similar angle to where he was bought down. 1 more touch and he strikes it I think. The rule doesn't say you have to be inside the 6 with no one else near you.....easy call.

All those people slagging off Enver, he was making all the dangerous runs until Morty came on (who had a cracking home debut). I thought he was one of our best all game. Tracked back well, as did Coops.
Cooper deserves a bit of credit as well for his performance, we all know he has potential but he just needed to get fitter and keep the ball better. He did that yesterday.

I must be the only one who thought the red was harsh. A yellow would have sufficed. I still think they were challenging each other and I wouldn't have called it a clear goal scoring opportunity. But yes he was the last man.
Can someone clarify that for me? Is it "last man" or "denying clear goal scoring opportunity".
Still on a high after yesterday. To see some one-touch football was great. That pass from Nordstrand :fap:. Ugarkovic added so much to our midfield. The defensive four were excellent.
Poljak hassled Mooy all day and we were able to keep their main 4 quiet.
It was a strange formation 3-4-1-2 (?) Melbourne set up with yesterday and I thought they only looked good on the counter attack.

Denying goal scoring opportunity
Being that Morty was about to run at goal and the nearest cover was 30 metres away odds are he is having a shot with just Sorenson to beat.
As soon as the ref calls a foul by Telling the only decision was red
I though think it wasn't a foul and Telling was hard done by in that he completed for the ball after his poor touch and came off best in the physical contact and got screwed by circumstance more than anything.
It was barely a foul anywhere on the pitch

I'm not getting the criticism for Poljak. He had a pretty massive job trying to keep Mooy under wraps. To keep City to only 1 goals and claim our defensive midfielder was poor, i don't think that would happen. If our midfield was poor yesterday we would have been towelled up!

Any credit to our defending must go to Boogz Mullen Cowburn and the Hoff
The back 4 were fantastic yesterday.
To be perfectly fair Birraz had **** all to do for a change.
The back 4 were exceptional dealing with Novillo and Fornaroli and bar a couple of moments where Fornarolis quick feet posed a problem their only threat were from set pieces

Correct but i thought Poljak was great yesterday too. Mooy had no joy in the middle of the park and had to go out wide to actually do anything with it. The rest was down to Mullen bossing Forgethowtospelloroni and not giving him any space. That goal took a deflection off Cowburn and Mullen fell asleep for the first time.

I was not meaning to take away from Ugar, i thought he was absolutely brilliant. It was more just people bagging Poljak. In some games this season that has been fair but to talk him down in a game where we shut down the most dangerous attacking midfielder in the competition (maybe the most dominant in the leagues history) i think he does deserve a bit of credit.
MFKS, to say it was Boogs, Mullen & co who should get the credit is fair to an extent. They played excellent, our backline held its shape with a lot of discipline but they were much more influential on shutting down Fornaroli and Novillo and taking away options more so than stopping Mooy getting on the ball.

Think the issue wit Poljak yesty was his rubbish touch. The amount of times he turned over the ball because of a heavy touch was poor. I'm not doubting his workrate and did see him win the ball on numerous occasions however giving the ball up in dangerous positions like he did would have cost us on any other day.

Maybe not as much box to box as Holland was in the beginning but some similar attributes. IMO he looks the type of player we all assumed Kanta would become when he broke on the scene before his knee injuries made him really slow.
