now that Optus have effectively cut off our access to the English Premier League and beIN have come to the rescue with pretty much the entire rest of the world's domestic competitions - some of us need to work out which teams we should support in these new lands
I've got my half arsed support of Liverpool (as they were good when I was a young boy) and my long suffering support of Newcastle Jets (after having been born in this godforsaken town) - which teams should I follow?
please put the case forward to follow teams in the following leagues (not just for me but for everyone here):
Germany - Bundesliga
Borussia Dortmund - due to the Klopp/Liverpool connections
France - Ligue 1
Italy - Serie A
Spain - La Liga
USA - MLS
Portland Timbers - because I already own the shirt and because they chain saw a log every time they score a goal
Argentina - Primera División
This thread is the ultimate in plasticity.
There are 3 teams on the planet I support
Newcastle Jets
Soccerroos
Whoever is playing the ****ing Gypos.
Isn't football support about an emotional attachment??
How can you support something you have an artificial attachment to ??

I second the Dortmund call.
Ned Zelic and Lars Ricken's goal in the champions league final against Juve are the only reason you need.

Bundesliga will be a great addition.
Dortmund first - Klopp had them playing very exciting and entertaining football.
When I was over there I went to Hamburg vs dortmund and the Hamburg fans are crazy and they beat dortmund. So they'd probabaly be my second team.

Jog on.
How the hell is following teams overseas being plastic. I'm not claiming to be a lifelong fan. I just enjoy watching those teams and have an interest in them.
MFKS aside, I'll post my thoughts.
EPL,
(hopefully but realistically won't happen) Liverpool (In Klopp we trust)
Germany - Bundesliga
Borussia Dortmund - due to the Klopp/Liverpool connections - +1 but Bayern look certains to win unfortunately.
France - Ligue 1
PSG
Italy - Serie A
I may be old school but Inter is my side
Spain - La Liga
Barca (Real Madrid shit me to tears)
USA - MLS
I couldn't give a fu@k and won't watch the poor standard
Argentina - Primera División[/QUOTE]
Bocas
SPL
Celtic as I have mates who love Rangers and others that are Hibs fans
I love the extra exposure to the other leagues. YNWA!!!

Pretty much agree with you MFKS. I've never had a connection to an overseas league team. I'll watch the occasional epl game on foxtel but I am usually more concentrated on a-league games plus the games are on late at night.
Wouldn't mind seeing an Argentine game on foxtel. Would be awesome too watch with such a great atmosphere over the telecast. Mls would be good too watch aswell being in a more favorable timezone.

MFKS, I'm over reading your wankfest of keyboard warrior posts and thought it's time I post a reply to your fu@kwit posts.
Why are you such a wanker?
Why do you pretend to be such an authority of the game yet post such shit as you do?
Please come and watch the buds tomorrow at the Old Boys Day, send me a private message so I can meet you and finally put a face to the dribble you type.
MFKS aside, I'll post my thoughts.
JCBT, there are options and settings in this forum so you can block a user. If the Member's posts make you feel that way, perhaps have a look at that option instead of posting as you did above.

Germany - Bundesliga
Borussia Dortmund - I love their kits
France - Ligue 1
No idea really. Once again I do like AS Monaco's kits
Italy - Serie A
No idea really. Apart from the big teams have no idea who anyone is and I haven't seen kits
Spain - La Liga
Atletico Madrid - I'm not really sure why but I hand grown a fondness to them over the last few years. I'm far from a massive fan though.
USA - MLS
No idea - but not Montreal. Watching them now and Drogba plays for them. I do not like Drogba.
Argentina - Primera Division
No idea
Germany - Bundesliga - no point (hope there is a team called that)
France - Ligue 1- st etienne psg got too big
Italy - Bologna cause i like spagetti, is there a footy comp in ital?
Spain - La Liga - Valencia and anyone who puts manu away which is most other teams
USA - MLS - they play like its 1899
Netherlands - Anyone but ajax, psv will do
Wales - see english championship
Trinidad and Tobago - Joe Public
Botswana - Naughty Boys
