The Herald has had a Poll running for a day or two asking:
Do you think the ticket price increases are fair?
Up until 3.30pm Monday afternoon, over 450 people had responded with 70% saying YES (increases are fair) with 30% saying NO...meaning they would like prices to remain the same.:wtf:

Expected. We were a shambles last season, if we weren't the cheapest in the comp we wouldn't have had near as many members as we did.
With a good pre-season, some good singings, we'll be over 10k. Just puts us more inline with the rest of the comp. Prices are still fair.

No issues with the prices going up, it had to happen as tinker had them so low. I think for us with a family of four Gold, it will be $80 a season more, which isn't that much in the scheme of things.
But its a hard sell to put ticket prices up and in the same move take away a home game and send it up the coast, particularly when its a big game. Probably would have sat a lot better with people if the number of games stayed the same and the ticket price went up.
The combination of the Coffs home game and the ticket increase has probably put people off more. Although anytime the price of anything goes up there is going to be a negative reaction from some areas.
Now is the best time to put the tickets up though. New Owner, new hope, people will give the club another chance.

Maybe if we stop having Clint's Crazy Bargains ticket prices, our product might be a little better.
Dont be too quick to pretend higher prices will be better. Tickets prices dont guarantee better results. Careful recruitment is the key. We could double the prices, pay overs for crap players and be no better off. We could also have low prices and the billionaire dip into his pockets for Marquees. Stop throwing away good beer money you cvnts ;)

Not suggesting that higher prices automatically mean winning... but if higher prices leads to more available money to spend on outside the cap signings (moving BK and BK for instance or signing Joe Bloggs from the NPL) then I am all for it.
Spot on with signing shit though. Recruitment needs to be better but some of that is still dependent on cash.

Many in Newcastle have to get out of this "free-loader" mentality of expecting someone else to keep this club afloat.
A Chinese businessman has just outlayed $5.5million of his own cash for our club but some in this town are whinging about paying a little extra to watch games and essentially support the club and keep it viable.
Especially when you have the "pay by the month" option, really no excuse to make a stink about the price increase.

We just need Chinese investment to invest in the stadium. Like the Port, buy it off the Govt. Then we can get rid of whatever dodgy catering deals have been done and get some real beer in.
I'll take a second ticket increase to see that happen, and buy a spare seat to put my beer on.

Well our renewal came today and our bay has been changed to GOLD from Silver - That's By 58. Also affects Bay 52. We will be paying $90 a season more each. That's almost equivalent of another silver ticket.
We can move to Bay 59 or 51.
Unsure what we will do...but we won't be staying there because we can't afford it.

It surprises me that they have increased the Gold Area.
We are in Bay 55, and there are heaps of seats that are free (or taken by people with GA tickets that come into the area).
I didn't think the demand was there for additional gold seats.

Although it only affects a couple of bays the club have stuffed up here. Large groups of people have had those same silver seats since day one and some of the loyalest fans are in those two bays. There has been no indication or consult that these would be upgraded.
And where is the necessity? Are the current gold seats all taken and at this stage of the season how do you know if they will be until memberships are in? I see no reason for a larger upturn in demand just yet and it would make sense to fill up the gold seats already available before allocating more.
All of a sudden I have to try and find an extra $400 to cover everybody in a few weeks or move.

I wonder how many people though in the affected seats will reconsider a full membership though.
I still don't see the demand for Gold seats being there to warrant increasing the allocation, maybe next season if/when things pick up, but I cant see an influx of members this season. Unless we get a few big signings Id be expecting at best we maintain last seasons numbers.
From a membership point of view, id expect a majority being GA with the proportions dropping through Red, Silver and Gold. This year Gold seating is by far the biggest allocation of seats. I think you are onto something with forcing people to the east for TV, otherwise its a second covert price rise forcing people to upgrade on top of the increase.

Can't really see the logic behind this, other than to send the message to people to hurry and sign up before August. The loyal die-hard supporters will have signed up by then but I can understand many others putting off signing up, to wait and see if the club is going to make a statement by bringing in 1 or 2 name players before the season starts. If they here prices will go up in August, they might just say "well bugger it then".

Never been in bay 2. Was southern hill or bay 52 adjacent to the opposition tunnel in my time as a Jerks member.
58 probably where I will end up. Maybe. Same as 52 but opposite end. There's a nice bunch of seats next to the tunnel which I assume is still the home tunnel.
I would be at least looking at getting seats at least 10 rows back
Getting tickets on the fence line does hamper viewing things on the other side of the pitch
A little bit of elevation helps fix that

Where did you bring it from? Did it cost much to relocate?

Aren't 'potential members' really just former members waiting for some signs of positivity before dipping their toe back in the shitshow?
Surely nothing we all haven't seen before.

Potential members are the ones that blow up all over social media about how shit the jets are, "**** this club", "not giving my money to them if X doesn't happen right now"
... or is that the current members?

Most of the 5K are the autorenewers.
I for one am looking at moving from Gold to Red - no point paying top dollar as it is easy to just sit in a few vacant Gold seats without being challenged. Given up whinging about it.
Can't beat 'em and all that.
