That said, i have a little bit of love for Iceland for the fact that they aren't great footballers but they are the exact opposite of someone like England/Argentina. They always squeeze the absolute maximum out of the talent they have. If they can possibly score 2 goals in a game they will score two goals. Whereas if England could score 10 goals in a game they might get 1 and struggle to a win.

Iceland will always be at their maximum and no more. Argentina will always give you 70-80% of what they could achieve. Hence why they haven't won anything of note for 25 odd years with some of the most talented players in the world.

I don't know if it still does, but it used to take a few (maybe 5) seconds for that system to work it out and then ping the ref's watch. I would say either they have improved the technology's computing speed or the call was made by the official on the line. A third option might be that for cases where its well over the line, the goal line tech can more easily/quickly confirm that this is the case.
