France

Hope Pogba has a blinder and scores the winner and then gives the big ones to the Pommy press who have rode his arse for the last 2 years

Be some degree of karma if that was the case

For all the England haters, at least you’ll be able to have a chuckle when in 4 years time everyone is focused on “doing one better”.

oh come on man, you really think the Pommie media is going to be going the positive angle?

last time they made the semis (90), they then failed to qualify for '94.

Doomsday clock already at 5 min to midnight.

Nope Giroud distracts defenders and creates space for Mbappe and Griezmam

Not a single shot on target this tournament.
Accurate as of 70th minute.

Not sure what's gonna be more embarrassing:

- Australians claiming they "held their own' against France.

Or

- Americans puffing their chests about their 'B team' holding France to a draw before the tournament started.

Most entertaining WC final I can remember for a long time. As a football fan, the first French goal was more annoying then the second. Not a FK at all, ref was conned. As for the pen, that’s nothing to do with VAR, it’s the ref’s interpretation that makes it a spot kick and considering the amount of debate I’ve already seen about it, maybe it’s the handball rule that needs the spotlight on it- I can’t stand teams being given a goal on a plate when the handball itself hasn’t even gone close to stopping a goalscoring play- some common sense needs to prevail.

If the ball hits your hand, and would otherwise hit your body, play on.
If it hits your hand and wouldn’t hit your body. Hand Ball.

French players trying to do a terrible Viking Clap.
Please leave it to the real Vikings.

I just look at where Perisic is and think if it doesn’t hit his hand, either it hits another Croat and goes out for a corner, or the keeper scoops it up. Don’t think there was another French player anywhere near them. To basically hand them a goal for that seems hugely disproportionate to the offence.

Agree, handball rule is terrible and needs redefining and then consistent application.

Prob need to give big big dap to Coach too.

Had some world class divas on that team and had them all firing and a few of them, most notably Pogba, playing a more 'team' game.

Some of his defending and positioning in the Belgium game was top notch. Now i dont see a lot of United games so dont know if he gets about like that on the reg, but he was a true leader out there, and consistent from start to finish of the comp.

Also, Deschamps hooked Kante today without hesitation. big call, but he wasnt having any of it.

Also, had Greizman doing plenty of running, and even won a world cup with that handsome chunk of uselessness Giroud.

Scary part will be if Deschamps moves on (either now or after the Euros) the natural successor (Zidane) prob wont mean any sort of dropoff).

They are a frightening prospect all over the park for the next decade.

Heres hoping they get back to their usual meltdowns and mutinys to keep up the lulz.
