Toronto Awaba FC are seeking expressions of interest for the 'Head Coach' role and other Senior and Youth Coaching positions in 2017.

Relevant Senior Coaching Certificates and experience is preferred but not necessary, as the club will help you in obtaining qualifications and gaining valuable experience.

Yes, I'm at a Newcastle club and Newcastle council charge a shit load to clubs

$20,000 seems about right for a decent sized club that will be using 2-3 fields for training during the week and at least one field on a Saturday.

The club should do what we do and when they give us the bill question every aspect and only pay for the times we use. The council will try and charge for every hour one time they were charging us to use it up to 9pm on Sundays.

Newcastle Council also do f uc k all in fixing issues, upgrading the grounds and barely maintain them.

I RECEIVED fees for my son to play premier soccer with a Newcastle club. They are great people and wonderful role models as volunteers. I was shocked at the fees and when I questioned the club, they promptly and very willingly provided me with a breakdown. Once they pay NNSW Football and the FFA plus relevant insurances and gear costs, I noticed a levy.

A levy that allows this club to pay some $20,000 in council fees to host training and games and to turn on lights. Why are sporting groups held to ransom by council and associated sporting bodies?

Newcastle City Council does nothing for these clubs but simply apply red tape whilst putting out their hand for fees that community/not-for-profit groups should not have to pay.

This is a big club, and they train and play six or seven days a week. Are they being hampered by their size or does every club cop such a hefty fee? Surely not fair. Maybe the council can explain what clubs get in return for $20,000. All I see is volunteers doing everything while council mows once a week on a tractor. These are grounds for community use.

Whether you were disappointed with the opportunities made available to you last season or are just looking for a fresh start with new goals, come by yourself or bring your mates and get the opportunities you’ve been chasing. We cater for all skill levels. Whether it’s enjoying a game with your mates in third grade or pushing yourself to make the step up into reserves and first grade in the Zone Premier Competition, the opportunities are there for everyone.

Over the past 10 years the club has climbed three divisions because of the hard work put in by everyone involved. In recent years we have made the finals and had some success in the Australia Cup.
The 2022 season was our first in the Zone Premier. Having lost some key players to work and family commitments, the club found the first year a challenge. This season we are keen to bounce back and challenge for finals which is what we are more than capable of.

Westlakes boasts a proud history and many players at the club are from the juniors. Being a small club nestled away has always made attracting players from outside the area a challenge but despite this once signed, many of our players have stayed with the club over the 5 to 10 years or even more. This demonstrates how much the club means to the Westlakes Football club.

Coaching staff are dedicated and passionate about the game and the club. They can guarantee to bring out the best in you. Our training and playing grounds are up with the best in the region. The club works extremely hard to improve and maintain the facilities as evident when you come to the ground. It’s a good feeling turning up to train and play on a great surface.
