Assassination or accidental?

Soft, pfft. My childhood was spent at Bolton Point, high school years out west. At the age of ten, I'd had my first run in with local drug barons after I killed their dog. I got scars man... scarred for life. My missus is from Adelaide, so Maitland was the compromise.

This du's childhood was legit. BPG ain't nothin to f*** wit

Assassination or accidental?

It attacked me when I was walking to school. I defended myself with the first thing I grabbed out of my bag which turned out to be a can of Rexona deodorant... which it happily bit into, exploding it and losing a portion of its face. It ended up getting put down.

I know mate, couldn't make it up. Was a huge rottweiler that they had basically abused the shit out of so it attacked anything that moved in their yard (protecting meth lab or hydro setup or whatever was the thing in the late 80's). Apparently got out one night and that's where it ran into me the next morning.

once this pitbull from the housing commision across the road started attacking one of my neighbour poodles.

the owners were trying to break it up, they ended up breaking a tennis raquet, a cricket bat and a golf club over the dogs back, dog didnt even flinch.

obviously no on thought to use a deoderant can at the time.

poodle was toast obviously, pit bull was put down a short time later.

this was actually about the west side vs the east side of the lake (is east side of lake newy?) to begin with :rof:

morisset is apart of macquarie football, which alongside hunter valley & newcastle football (memba those three logos our active support had painted on a tifo once?) makes up the southern district of nnsw - which is what the jets directly represent. unless we're saying the jerks only represent that tiny suburb directly known as Newcastle, in which they don't even play home games inside said suburb?

turns out half of this forum is from south-western lake mac

if t-west (and therefore jobe) is apart of "newy" and is the last recognizable part of newy, then i believe wangi is the cutoff line as rathmines (rem-job) & arcadia vale share the same postcode as t-west whereas wangi has it's own postcode.

So all Macquarie Football clubs are part of the Jets eh?

From Southern Lakes' website:

"Remember we need a Central Coast Mariner vs Brisbane Roar GF to qualify for the great opportunity to escort the Mariners on the pitch on the 21st April- so QUIETLY cheers for the roar on Friday to beat the Wanderers and get down to the game on Sun to help get the Mariners over the line for us on Sun!"

and

"Southern Lakes will be hosting Adam Kwasnik (Central Coast Mariner Star) ( )"

They obviously don't have anything to do with Newy, bar playing in the Interdistrict Competition.

Southern Lakes play out of Dora Ck.. (North of Mo-town.. I grew up just near there at Eraring)..
From what I understand they are just a junior club u6's to u14's, splintered off from Mo-town, with connections on the coast..

This is where the lines all get blurred.. When I played at Mo-town, Steve Eagleton was with us and he had connections with the Mariners.
He brought everyone free Mariners training strips (even told me I didn't have to wear it and could happily just spit on it instead) and even brought a few of the players to a training session - although I conveniently missed that one..
On the other hand, out at Gardo we are all Jets fans except for one bloke, Rabbit, who is a die-hard Mariners fan. (Fvck does he cop it...)
Guess I'm saying that just cause you have gypo stuff organised or put around you, doesn't make you a gypo..

Back in the KB days the club started with the emerald and cinnamon first strip. Eventually, because the players felt it was lucky, and with a little help from the sponsors, the gold away strip became the full time kit of preference.

Maybe it could happen again with enough public support - I still can't hack this red and blue shit !

So how did you cope all those years when we were the Breakers and then Cons Newcastle United in the NSL?? Both teams plsyed in red and blue

I hated our Breakers colours too, especially as they said it was to align ourselves with the Knights - no other bona fide reason.

No Newcastle team was those colours from the 19th century up until the Breakers formed - tis an old argument.

Jeez, I had worries about it and now they've been confirmed.

The shirt doesn't flow with the shorts at all.

I've never understood having the stripes for the bottom part of a kit, then one block colour for the rest of the back. Either continue the stripes the entire back, or have the entire back one colour (ie see our last years kit for stripes everywhere, or Wellingtons last year for entirely one block colour on back). The wide red strip on the shorts is unnecessarily wide. Have also never understood why socks need a big patch of a different colour on the calf - it's like a target or something!

In summary - home kit fail. Let's just enjoy the away days!

I asked a media commentator from another sport once and I assume it carries over to football, media dislike stripes and therefore via their contacts in the sports codes they push for the area where the number is displayed to be a block of colour which contracts the number easily. So they can pick it up as easily as possible in a fast moving environment. In AFL Hawthorn are a good example of this, brown and yellow stripes but a large white box for the black number to be easily seen.

Have to agree on the socks... that is just an odd design with little meaning or visual design quality.

I know red and blue aren't the cities football colours. I've supported the club since 2006 when I started following football. I know the history of the green, I just found it weird considering its so different to any other strip (colourwise) we've had since the dawn of the A-League

Not sold on Green as the primary colour for the playing strip, particularly one that is so close to the grass. Not sure if it was just due to the TV camera angles but at times it made it more difficult to identify players etc, not sure if it would have an impact on the pitch.

Does that mean the Knights would too? God I hope it's not Kooga or some rubbish.

I'd consider Kappa "left-field" tbh. Although I know CCM have been really disappointed with them, and are changing next season to an Adidas/Nike.

I'd consider the big ones to be Adidas & Nike, with nearly as big being Puma & Umbro.

Some Lotto kits I've seen have been pretty tidy. Macron have done great with Perth.

As long as we keep an E&C kit, and as long as management actually look into a gold keepers kit as opposed to CCM yellow, I'll be happy.

TBH I hated on ISC until this season, but I am really impressed with what they did design-and-material-wise for the e&c kit. I wouldn't have been greatly unhappy if we stuck with them. I assume the move is because we sold way more jerseys than ISC expected, and Jets HQ have found a better $$ deal elsewhere.

I like the look of the e and c kit but have been really disappointed with the quality for the price. I have worn it maybe 5 or 6 times and the threads are already coming apart in places. Not just a little bit either, significant damage. I have had nike and adidas kits that I have worn hundreds of times and are in better condition

Most people in Newy let alone the shower of shite that is the coast would know this information

You are either spending far too much time down at that reserved car park of yours at Gypo HQ or you are have turned Gypo

What do you mean turned gypo? I've always been gypo haven't I?

Better not be sold out, I got one for christmas. Purchaser was being too generous in assuming I was a Medium. I'll be gutted (pun intended) if they have no Large jerseys left.

Been a few times this weekend and the Superstore hasn't been open. nothing on the website to suggest it would be shut.

Surprising that something Jets related isn't a well oiled machine....

Only thing worse than the effort on the field last night was the ffa letting the keepers wear the exact same colours. Legit steam was coming out of my ears when I saw it

They were 100m apart - what is the problem?

I remember the day when every goalkeeper wore a green shirt.

The Laws of the Game state they must wear different colours

Plus the bloodshot eyes, incoherent an slurred speech, smell on his breath, uncontrollable stumbling and bottle of beer in his hand were a dead set give away as to which one was their keeper and which one was ours

Law 4 - "Each goalkeeper must wear colours that distinguish him from the other players, the referee and the assistant referees"

Hmm - I have always read that as their own team, though I can see what you are getting at.

the way I interpret it is the other players is from both teams

What if the keeper comes up for a corner?

I would also like to express my disappointment that we did not take advantage of this terribly embarrassing mix-up by sending Birraz up for every corner.

End of the day there is a fifa law which dictates that opposition goalkeepers must not clash with each other, or anyone else on the field.

This is a rule that nnsw regulate far better than a professional competition ffs

Can confirm in a game I reffed this year I made a keeper change his jersey due to a clash with the other keeper.

But he was going to be wearing yellow, so it could be seen as a public service.

More pressing matters in the game such as actually finding blokes with 20-20 vision to do the job properly rather than dealing with matters akin to jaywalking for cops

It's pv4's thing though.
It would be like telling you to stop posting about Kale, or telling SuperDyl to stop posting about pools.

It is nit picking to the enth degree.

Ain't much good the refs enforcing crap like this yet blatant things such as handballs in the box and blokes diving on the ground and using their arm to stop Heskeytime shooting are not refereed according to the rule book cause the blokes with the whistle are blind/cheats

Went the the superstore on derby day. I only got a large Away jersey coz they ran someone up on the phone they were holding it for and they didn't want it anymore. It was for dad for his birthday, hope it fits him as I would of preferred XL for him. It fits me great though.

Also is there a boot thread? Trying to find one but can't. I'm just after people's opinions on what boots they like that are no dearer than $150. I ha asics last year and they were great. Was thinking but going them again.

Copas are the comfiest boot ever.
However they turn to shit after 2-3 rainy sessions when the mud gets into the leather despite how much you try to clean it.

New samba colours out now :|

They really did the new colours? I knew they were saying they were going to make a white/black inverse, but didn't think they'd actually go colours!

Copas are still IMO the best looking boots I've ever seen, are the comfiest I've ever worn & I feel like my touch etc is just way better when I wear them compared to my Nike metals (the black/white Nikes that every 2006 Socceroo cept Harry wore) or any other boot.
