personally, I think the Jets current kit maker is so incredibly shit that I would gladly go back to having Reebok make them

have you seen how poor quality the material is? and the design is just ugly, the stripes are too wide, the cut of the shirts is too straight, the trim is horrid, rough material and they're just cheap looking all over

Reebok would be a hundred times better than the shit they currently wear

Thomas477

Should go for Nike FFS. Barca's home kit for 10/11 was mint. (http://www.soccerbible.com/news/football-shirts/archive/2010/05/21/barcelona-home-10-11-nike-football-shirt.aspx)

Just not last year's version, was horrible.

Totally agree about the quality of the material. I would have bought a couple for my sons but the quality is so poor it is just not worth it. The gold trimming could have been done so much better.

Was just watching Football Asia and noticed Jeonbuk Motors clash kit, nice piece of kit.

Note to club just send this over to ISC and get them to copy it, with a slight change of black to cinnamon

I really like the detail of the all gold silhouette club badge with no back ground :fap:

Hope the the jets go with gold numbers for both kits this year except use a black shadow line for the black and white kit so that the gold stands out instead of the white from the R&B kit.

I've used kooga, not a bad site (however mainly for league/union jerseys) but you could probs still work it with football strips.

is there any recent news on our kits for the upcoming season? will we be keeping both the same, or home same & away different (like i'm led to believe we're doing)?

i'd hate to drag our clubs focus away from signing a marquee, but it seems they've been pretty good at doing that recently anyway so thought i'd ask if any updates have been heard/seen?

is it confirmed our keepers kits are legit gold this season too?

Jetstream podcast a few months back Robbie and Jarrod stated that the home kit would be around for at least two to three seasons, and it would be the away strip that would change more often. They seemed to give the impression that they werent looking at any changes this season apart from a 3rd strip being a possibility for the Grand Final Anniversary. This was due to the backlash over changing from gold to red/blue. They didnt want people to have to keep shelling out for new jerseys every season.
So maybe they will change the away strip next season and then the home strip the season after and then alternate.

Would be happy if they just got better quality from ISC, after purchasing a B&W away I'm sort of hoping we don't get an E&C kit from ISC as the quality is terrible.

Still think it would be better to have the KB inspired kit this year for the 35th anniversary for the old boys game & then the gold to return next year for the 5th anniversary as a legit away kit not a once off, but only if they get ISC's arse into gear on upping the quality, probably get better quality with a cheap Chinese knock off barca kit.

an anniverasry of something that happened five years ago is pretty lame tbh.

the year can celebrate KB for sure, and then 2014 we celebrate the cup win of 1984.

a commemerative kit for somethjing that happened in 2008 would be embarrasing.

Normally I'd agree but i just want to see the gold return.

Something like this for the '84 kit would be nice, just a simple design.

just stopped by training & they've got a bunch of new liking gear on fake-wall guys, looking ready for a photo shoot.

black jacket & track pants, looks to be same home jersey, two jerseys I've never seen before - similar to the previous socceroos jersey with main colour & different upper chest. one is blue with gold separating upper red, the other is white with red seperating upper blue.

looks like that but a lot thinner red stripe & sleeves white (iirc). they seemed to have plain blue, and plain white jerseys there too, which looked like training jerseys, so not sure what these socceroos-knights-esque ones are for. one thing is for certain - the blue one is in no way contrasting to the home kit, so if that's our away kit then im pretty certain our league is ridicu-fxxxin-Lous when it comes to clashing alternate kits

+1, tbh given CCM, WSW, Perth and Hearts' records with away strips, the FFA should reinforce the white away jersey rule again.

Also, I cant wait to see what Ryan will wear in rd 2, that jersey that Sterj was wearing is exactly the same one.

Also, FFS why go with a pink gk kit if it isn't supporting anything.

Mr pv4, I would like to know your opinion on the use of the lower case 'i' in all of the players names this season.

Por ejemplo:

http://i.haymarket.net.au/Galleries/20121013064051_154046045_10.jpg

http://i.haymarket.net.au/Galleries/20121020083200_154438111_10.jpg

Ok so clearly it is some kind of league-wide font that is trying to be stylish by ignoring the existence of the uppercase representation of 'i'. We also appear to use it on our away kits:

http://i.haymarket.net.au/Galleries/20121013071716_154046146_10.jpg

But not our home kits:

PV4 will probably be thinking the same thing, but what's with the Mariners playing in their home kit and having Matt Ryan wear lime green? Maybe it's the dodgy stream I'm watching it on but I can barely tell the difference. Why not think ahead and get a bright blue one like Melbourne Heart (also with Kappa) use for this?

POLL: Jets fans chance to pick new away colours
http://www.theherald.com.au/story/1490949/poll-jets-fans-chance-to-pick-new-away-colours/

FOR the first time Newcastle Jets members will choose which kit the team take on the road in the next A-League season.

Jets members will receive an email from the club today at 9am with three designs to choose from for the team’s away kit. The club gave the Herald an early peek at the three shirts yesterday.

Voting is open to members only and closes at noon on May17.

The choice is between taking the Jets back to Newcastle’s football roots in the city’s traditional colours of emerald green and cinnamon brown; a white design with panels of red and blue; or a bold charcoal kit inspired by the mining industry.

The new design will replace the black and white striped away shirt, which was inspired by the traditional colours of Northern NSW Football representative teams. The red and blue striped home kit will stay for next season.

‘‘It’s fair to have the three there and not have us make the decision, but to let the fans make the decision,’’ Jets CEO Robbie Middleby told the Herald.

Hunter Sports Group copped criticism from some quarters when it announced in February 2011 that it was abandoning the Jets’ gold colours of the Con Constantine era in favour of the red and blue of the Knights, who are also owned by Nathan Tinkler.

Middleby said lessons had been from that experience.

‘‘We always want input from the fans, and we’re happy to have it,’’ he said. ‘‘This sort of thing is great for the fans and the members to have an input.’’

Asked if the gold worn by the Jets in their 2007-08 championship season was considered, Middleby said: ‘‘We mentioned it, but we thought of some colours we haven’t had.

‘‘Potentially we might look at that in the future, but at the moment we thought to have three options and they were the three options we thought of.’’finally an E&C kit. Even if the green doesnt look right in that photo.

Probably want to get some use out of it now that the heart have ****ed them off.

Vote for the Jets' 2013/14 away strip

http://static.ffa.sportalhosting.com/site/_content/article/00066896-leadimage.jpg

The Hunter Ports Newcastle Jets are giving the Club’s Members an exclusive opportunity to have their say in the design of the Jets’ away strip for the 2013/14 A-League season.

Jets Members will be able to select their favourite design from three uniquely different options. The away strip with the most votes will be officially adopted by the Club for the 2013/14 season.

Members who vote for the winning away strip will also go into the draw to win the brand new 2013/14 away strip signed by the entire Newcastle Jets squad.

Newcastle Jets CEO Robbie Middleby said he was looking forward to seeing which away strip is selected by the Club’s Members.

“It’s great to be able to give our loyal Members the opportunity to have a say on what away strip their team will proudly wear during the 2013/14 A-League season,” Middleby said.

“I think we have three great designs for our Members to choose from and I'm looking forward to seeing what decision they make.”

Voting is open to Newcastle Jets Members only closes at 12pm on Friday, May 17th.

Option 1:

http://static.ffa.sportalhosting.com/site/_content/image/00041233-image.jpg

Option 1 is a direct tribute to the rich football history of the Hunter region.

The strip adopts the City of Newcastle’s official colours of emerald green and cinnamon brown, which were also worn by KB United as the first Newcastle team to compete in the National Soccer League back in 1978.

The strip also takes inspiration from the away kit worn by Liverpool FC, former Club of Jets marquee striker Emile Heskey, during 1999/00 English Premier League season.

Option 2:

http://static.ffa.sportalhosting.com/site/_content/image/00041234-image.jpg

Option 2 is a flashback to the formative years of the A-League competition when each club had a predominantly white away strip.

The strip features red and blue side panels to represent the Jets’ home strip colours.

Option 3:

http://static.ffa.sportalhosting.com/site/_content/image/00041235-image.jpg

Option 3 is a charcoal coloured strip inspired by Newcastle’s history as a proud coal-mining region. To this day, the Port of Newcastle remains the world’s largest coal-mining export harbour, with over 100 million tonnes exported annually.

The strip also features a red and blue sash, which enables the Jets’ home strip colours to also be represented on the away strip.

Wish they went with a replica of the KB kit, with gold letters and numbers, all they need to do is use a black edge instead of that awful white they tried at first, the black would make it stand out much better on any colour, basically switch the white for gold.

NEWCASTLE Jets fans have called for the club to return to the city’s footballing roots by adopting the green and cinnamon away strip.

See your ad here
The Jets yesterday released three options for the club’s away kit for the next A-League season – green and cinnamon, white with blue and red panels, and charcoal grey with a red and blue diagonal stripe.

Club members have until May17 to vote for their favourite option.

A poll on the Newcastle Herald website yesterday suggests green and cinnamon will be the winner.

As of 7pm last night, green had 48.2per cent of 1073 votes, followed by grey (28.4) and white (23.4).

The green also had majority support on social media sites.

For well known Jets fan and member of the Zad Lads supporter group, Bryce McCarter, green and cinnamon was a clear winner.

‘‘You can cross the white off as it looks like last year’s training shirt,’’ McCarter said.

‘‘I think the green one is pretty cool and the history attached to that.’’

Due to its links to KB United, Newcastle’s first football team in the old National Soccer League, McCarter said the green and cinnamon could be used in connection with fan days celebrating the history of the sport in the Hunter.

A comment from ‘‘Fat Lenny’’ on the Herald website also supported the green strip.

‘‘I’m loving the green jersey,’’ he wrote. ‘‘Nice acknowledgement of the city’s football history and it would stand out in the stands where the charcoal jersey would just blend in. Not a fan at all of the white one.

‘‘Either way, good stuff from the Jets to get the members involved.’’

See your ad here
But others disapproved of all three designs and wanted a return to the gold jersey worn by the Jets in the first six seasons of the A-League.

‘‘What a joke, all those fans that just bought the away strip now have nothing that’s even relevant to the Jets,’’ BB wrote. ‘‘Change the home strip first back to the gold. The gold stands out the most both on the field and off ...’’

Green.

Lol. But it's true. The current club was formed by Con in the 1990's after the collapse of the breakers. The only link to the breakers was in the colours of blue and red.

As important as KB United is to the history of football in the region, it is still not Newcastle United. We should be striving to forge our own destiny and and glories.

The Newcastle Jets will wear an emerald green and cinnamon brown away strip during the 2013/14 A-League season following a vote by the Club’s Members, the club has announced.
See your ad here

An overwhelming majority of 76% of the more than 1500 Jets members who voted in the Club’s official poll, opted to acknowledge the Hunter region’s rich football history by voting for the emerald and cinnamon design, the club said in a statement.

The emerald and cinnamon strip are the official colours of the City of Newcastle.

KB United, the first Newcastle team to compete in the National Soccer League back in 1978, wore the same colours.

The club statement noted that of the two other away strip options, the charcoal-coloured design finished with second-highest number of votes with 13%, while the predominantly white third option gained the least amount of votes with 11%..

Grimario
17-05-2013, 05:27 PM
The best part about voting is that despite only me and my missus being members (at the time of voting), I somehow had 6 registered members on my account. One called Kyle, one called Ben (the two guys who I had three seats with a few years ago) and 12AQSD12312 and 42ASDqwe1231 which were the two children I somehow have left on my account from MANY years ago when I had a family pass with a friend and his son. Mind blown.

Also, you could add as many "orders" for the green kit as you wanted... or so it seemed.

Good job club.
Obviously Middleby was on holidays and not around to cock it all up.
If the Jets were smart (I said 'IF') and plan on doing this every 2 years then it makes sense to not put all the smart ideas out at once.
In 2 years time hopefully we get another 3 options like "O.G. Gold", "Coal" and "White".
Then 2 years after that we get "KB Yellow", "Coal" and "White".
repeat and prosper.

Maybe one day we'll get some decent players to wear the ****ern things.

Middleby OUT.

Soft, pfft. My childhood was spent at Bolton Point, high school years out west. At the age of ten, I'd had my first run in with local drug barons after I killed their dog. I got scars man... scarred for life. My missus is from Adelaide, so Maitland was the compromise.
