There's been some worthy contenders, but has anybody in the a-league had worse hair than brandan?

This could be an ongoing thread of its own.

Btw, those seagulls are giving the sauce bottles a good run for 'most annoying thing that isn't football-related at a football match'

This City team's pretty good. Yoshi was right.

However, they're pretty shit at defence.

Don't they know the MCG is across the road.
Ammi Park needs to get itself some resident Falcons. (what's Butch Hays doing these days?)

Have we got anyone who can get into a pen position v the Nix this weekend?
Easy pickin's there....

These injuries are doing my head in, especially Nabbout when it comes to this weekend.

So we're facing a Wellington side who only have a 5 day turnaround, just got thumped 6-1, and will have one of their defenders out suspended. In theory, there's no better time to face them. In reality, we're likely to play them back into form :/

Jones just announced he's playing 6 at the back to counter the Nix having one less defender available.

So? We are coming off a convincing 2-0 loss, down to our third choice CB an 18 yo injury replacement and missing our best performing player of the season..

Throw in our abysmal record at the cake tin, some good signs from the Nix last night before they capitulated and also one of their most impressive forward line-up in recent memory.. and we're supposed to be optimistic??

We should be aiming for nothing less than 3 points. Nix are 0 and 4 and just got belted 6-1. 'Good signs before they capitulated' is a ridiculous reason for us to be negative about our chances. If we don't go over there and have a go, I'll be pissed. But I also know it's just the sort of scenario that often sees us crumble and fall back into our shell.

Their 'most impressive forward line-up in recent memory' has scored 1 goal in 4 games. From the penalty spot. If they aren't there for the taking this weekend, even with our depleted side, then they'll never be.

I fully agree with you saying we should have a go. If we aren't aiming for 3 points in every game we play then what's the ****ing point. All I'm saying is that anyone who thinks this is one of our "easier" games has rocks in their head. And you can forgive me for being a bit negative when it comes to our recent history of games when we "should" be winning.

To add to that - we are focusing on the Nix and their recent poor form and squads when in reality we are in a similar predicament. There's probably 5 or 6 sheep shaggers across the ditch lining up on a forum to give their opinion about how they should be smashing us this weekend.

lol I feel like we're debating something but I'm not sure what exactly.

All I said at the beginning was that in theory, there's no better time to face the Nix (lost 4 in a row, short turnaround time, last game humiliation, suspension to a defender, not scoring a goal from open play). In reality, these are the exact games that other teams seem to bounce back and re-discover their form, or in the Nix case now, get their season started.

We'll lose or draw.

Goals for both sides imo.

The Nix copped 2 early penalties and had a man sent off against MV. Meanwhile MV should've had a man sent off but escaped. I don't think 6-1 was a true reflection.
