What I've taken from the 69 fouls he's drawn, is that those he has drawn have often relieved defensive pressure or created an attacking set piece opportunity.

He leaves, that's an element to our game that'll leave. Haven't had a player that can win us a dangerous free-kick since Griff.

It's been well debated on here the different style of play between our current and previous manager, but looking at the Shots on Goal per game, the Jones team only has 1 extra shot onaverage per game than a Miller team. Jones' team have managed more on target.

Jones has become too defensive and now the club is failing to score goals and also conceding them because the opposition teams are being gifted a mental edge.
Wellington will have a field day against the Jets knowing they can playing an opening attacking style without consequences in defence due to the Jets ****ing about with the ball at the back too much rather than looking to score or get forward at every opportunity.

This is going to be our 4th match under him. We haven't won any of the previosu 3. He's refereed us twice this season so far - the loss over in Perth (2-3) and the 1-1 Derby in Rd 7. The other was 0-2 against Sydney mid last season down there.

No, apparently his form has been off so they went with Ingham.

If I were the Nix, I'd have made a sneaky request to the NZ Football Federation to look outside the Nix for players which would see someone like Dane Ingham from the Roar, for example, getting a call up over Kosta.

Not re signing blokes like Poljak is also a positive step forward.

If Lee is serious about keeping Jones, then at the moment every single player who is off contract needs to be shown the door and all those still with years to run need to be put on notice.
Jones needs to start recruiting an entire squad right now and showing that he can do ANYTHING

The whole argument in defence of Jones "he came in a week before the season" etc. that works for the first maybe half of the year.

The capitulation has come at the ass end of the season, where a coach should have well and truly stamped their authority on a side.

I take the argument about not his team, but surely that doesn't play for absolutely every player he has been given. A majority of this squad would be signed by Jones had he been in Miller's position.

So I ask again, what makes Jones infallible for those firmly entrenched in his camp?

Jones needs to be shown the door as well as any player off contract and a few that still have time to run on their contracts. Like you implied, things have gotten worse not better - and it's got nothing to do with injuries or strong opposition - it's because the players are weak and the coach / manager doesn't have what it takes to manage the team effectively.

I'm certainly not entrenched in his camp. I was happy to give the benefit of the doubt but the past couple of months have been going from woeful performances to downright horrible.

Teams worsening performance reflects on them

They have not shown the slightest bit of fight
They have not shown the slightest bit of execution

They have proven to be incompetent and not up to the task

This game is not that hard. When you have 11 blokes not showing any effort or commitment to play for their fans the shirt or even for themselves as footballers you are ****ing going nowhere

These blokes have shown that as soon as the blow torch of pressure is applied they go to water

...or this forum in general. Looking for an intelligent comment here is the definition of insanity...

But it is somehow still more sane than the Facebook comments, haha. Absolute gold yesterday.

what struck me last night was just how awful players like Koutroumbis and Jackson were playing, these are players who will be with the team next year and yet they were every bit as dire as the rest of the rabble out there if not more so at times, in fact practically from kick-off JK was honking and LJ not far behind, that just reinforced to me that this coach has lost the team, even his golden kids couldn't give a shit...

it would be interesting to note how many of these blokes have bad games when they aren't picked in their primary position.

Like the players give a shit about us. Heard Nabbout was talking to fans after the citeh game apologising for the performance with promises to do better the following week and we saw how that went.

Jones has lost the dressing room, no doubt about it.

So you either give him another year allowing him to reshuffle the entire/majority of players bring in guys who he thinks wants to play for him or sack him and sign another coach who can come in and perhaps work with whoever will be playing here next season.

With that being said I have seen a few posts here who have said we have played better in possession under Jones than we have under Miller. As someone who watches a lot of training sessions I can say this, the passing structure drills that Jones has implemented arent something new, these were/are the same drills that Miller did in preseason, which leads me to believe under Miller we would have been a possession based team rather than counter attacking. The passing drill is the same the pattern of passing is also the same, in fact Jones more often than not doesnt really even take this drill he lets Clayton Zane run it. He will only step in if someone makes a mistake.

Jones has implemented a lot more small sided games into training than compared to Miller, hence why I think we are fitter team than we were under scott miller. However there seems to be less shape work or even tactical walk throughs.

Now if you give him a season you have to think a) does he have the pull to sign players b) can he make finals with a full preseason with the players he wants c) if he goes who replaces him

Useless being fit if your crap with and without the ball
