Thanks for those stats JP
But the only stat that sticks with me is the one that matters most.
That fateful Grand final day on 21st April, 2013 when the table topping Wankerers FAILED to prevent the worst outcome of all.
It was the Wanderers who let the sCCuM win. It was the Wanderers who let the rest of the A-League down.
Never forget people. Never forget....

As long as Nigel Boogaard is in the team i will always watch with concern when the opposition team are attacking. Im afraid boogs is a liability in defence and it needs to be realised. he came to Newcastle on the decline and has only got worse. He scored an own goal from having no awareness of his positioning and his opponent. He was caught napping numerous times when Maccarone got the ball. Whether he was instructed to not man mark he was very often not even zone marking.
fortunately for VAR he was let off from being embarrased by the goal he ball watched the whole time.
He is slow
and has lost all positional awareness.
NTS is slow aswell but he makes up for it with his read of the game.
Boogs plain and simply has none of this, and most of the times you will see him barking frustrations with others around him following his errors.

3 men to mark??
He wasn't marking his man
Call a spade a spade
He has been a ****ing liability to us
Topor Georgevski and Vujica have been fantastic all 3 games
Even Duncan has been pretty anonymous
The only thing of regularity has been Boogaard getting carved up

Spent the first half constantly turning the ball over
For a bloke in his position turning the ball over is a no no
You can't have your DM coughing it up more than 1-2 times a game total.
He is in the wrong part of the park to be getting caught in possession or giving it away cheaply
Most of the DMs passes are also simple so there is less excuse to **** them up
A good DM rarely coughs it up or gets caught in possession
Kanta on the other hand still hasn't cottoned onto this concept

1st half i thought Ugabooga was pretty similar.
he was making some really intelligent runs though and looked to be (instructed) to get forward.
maybe its just taking him time to adjust from the sideways/backwards garbage he had droned into him from your boy Jonesy.

Agree they didn't do enough with their dominance
Our effort in the first 70 mins though was so substandard and lethargic we deserved to been left in the dark
The goal came out of nothing and we didn't deserve it
The last 20 mins of bustle doesn't excuse what was a pretty tepid and uninspiring performance overall

**** this **** with the whistle today
How many weak soft free kicks does he give to both teams
Pathetic really
Maybe he gets paid per blow j@b

Ease up.. bloke is not trash at all. Not one of our best at the moment. Not as effective as he should be. And certainly needs to step up and play better. But there's no way the word trash describes him.
He takes up a foreigner spot and offers nothing to warrant that and has done nothing since his contract extension ergo trash

Two things killing games here.VAR and over officiating. The whistle seemed to go every 30 seconds and was very frustrating for all.
Much of it was petty.

Totally agree
Same with his cards he issued
3-4 of them really were a joke and unnecessary and that was against both sides
Free kicks were giving softly and needlessly to both sides when he should have just let it run
Just Beath being his usual **** like self and ****ing a game up

on a brighter note, despite getting next to zero service, how good is it to see Roy follow everything up, looking for the slightest sniff of the ball, just itching for a tap in, such a joy to finally have a striker who does that

might be a question for jeterpool, but are we getting more penalties awarded this season than any other season? seems to be about 1 a game at the moment.

i think we need to avoid using brown as much as possible, we looked a lot better when he came off
What were people's thoughts on shabow? He didn't play long but I thought he looked okay for the short time he got

although he was sound at the back (bar whatever that foot tangle was about early on in front of the RBB), some of NTS' clearances in front of the West Shitney Gyppos' goalmouth made me wonder who he was playing for, he definitely didn't give any indication he wanted to score against those khunts with some of those efforts...

Having a look over the stats yesterday, Nabbout's defensive numbers were impressive.
he was our top tackler, by far won the most duels and lead the interceptions as well.

Although we came into our own in the last half hour, I think it had a lot to do with WSW losing Baccus and Herd.

Yep, my thoughts too. WSW had Aspro & Roly as their holding mids - neither of which are holding mids!
Anyone else note our kickoff tactic - NTS & Boogs behind a line of 8 blokes set on the halfway line.
Although we came into our own in the last half hour, I think it had a lot to do with WSW losing Baccus and Herd.
I think it had a lot to do with a couple of things
You never ever dominate the game 100% and your rival is always going to have a spell on top
I think the goal obviously lifted the Jets
I think the fatigue of 3 games in 8 days started to catch up with WSW also
I think the left back was either injured or busted also gave us a good option to exploit in the final 25 mins also
The removal of Brown seemed to help us. Can't say we have looked good really with him on the park all season really. His introduction has usually coincided with Vargas going off and our attack has got noticeably almost non existent afterwards
Add in the loss of their CMs that helped too
Many reasons why

Nabbout has not had a decent shot on goal all season!! Needs to work hard on his shooting this week

He did have one good shot, but it was chalked off because he was offside.

For those unsure, Bay 60 is at the complete opposite corner to wher ethe event occurred, hence my viewing of the event may be compromised.
But he was still on and I refuse to watch a replay.

Not result related - Speedy commented on how out refs are some sort of world leaders of allocating correct extra time, yet the whole first minute of extra time was not played due to a free kick and how slow it took to be kicked. Great we can allocate the correct extra time minutes, but a shame we don't play it
He typically didn't follow up with any detailed info as to how we were getting it right and no other country does. Anyone know any more about this? It's not like the EPL just throw up 3 mins every match by default.

Miller signed him for 1 season. Jones extended the contract by 2 years based on 1 or 2 games

He's plugging a hole for the moment and playing out of position. If its the worst problem we have then it isn't too bad
I thought Brown had his contract extended after only making a handful of appearances. That would make him Miller's initial signing and the extension under Miller.
Could be wrong however ageing memory and all.
I reckon he would be on decent coin and honestly he is not contributing enough to be using up a visa spot.

No I blaming the experienced campaigner in the Gypo for not telling his rookie coach to slow down on the move as one swallow doesn't make a summer etc
McKinna been around the traps to know patience and wait and see was needed not a knee jerk reaction which was the case with signing Brown for a couple more years based on a couple of goals

I think the frustration stems for the fact that Brown's comments suggest he was signed as a #10 and as such not playing out of position (just not very good at that role). I certainly don't mind Brown in a defensive midfield role.

so McKinna shoulda undermined Jones by telling him he has no confidence in his judgment and not give him any input into decisions relating to the team?? gee, I wish McKinna hadda done that last season and maybe it wouldn't have turned into such a trainwreck...
