So can I. Shabow linked really well with Dimi in the middle of the park and provided another attacking option. With Cowburn the likely choice to play right back, I can see Shabow playing because Cowburn can overlap.

I'd say that's more about his stature and frame than his state of mind. Sometimes, getting back to work can be the best thing to cope with loss (as long as you have actually dealt with the loss beforehand and not just ignored it)

I reckon with Ronny Roy and co available we kill it

I reckon without them we will still do well

There is space to exploit in a back 3 and the way we attacking this season the opportunity arises then even more for us

Such a shame that with these big games over the last few weeks we don't have a full strength team.

If we win this as we are we must be seriously considered as a major threat with artillery to return.

MFKS is correct.

Bernie Skerrick has to turn the losing mindset around, we are towards the pointy end of the table for a reason. We deserve it based on our play.

It’s not lucky, the players shouldn’t be waiting for the other shoe to drop (although as a fan, I admit I am still wary). Confidence must and by all rights should be high.

with the danger of slipping into captain obvious territory, tonight really does seem to me to be a critical match. win, we keep the pressure on sydney and also move two games clear of city. a loss isn't a disaster (we can't move out of second this week), but it gives sydney some space and puts city on our heels.

This game plan isn't working. Relies too heavily on immense skill combined with luck.

Keeping the ball would better suit our squad.

Jets looked tired 2nd half possibly deflated after not winning the game in 1st half.

Bust their arse for 35 mins

Scoreboard doesn't quite reflect their dominance then to have their alleged captain lead by example with a typical Boogaard moment

Why wouldn't you be deflated to go in at 1-1 ??

Sucked the life out of us tonight Boogaard

city dominated the 2nd half because Merrick had us defending too deep to cover up that useless tit Boogaard.

Get Johnny K in centre back next week and be done with this bloke.

Such as what??

I don't think we had a hell of a lot of options on the bench tonight what exactly you thinking we had on there to turn things about??

Like FFS he even had to bring on your mate Clut that how low down on the list of players we are

Our players lost that game tonight by

1 our captains needless penalty concession
2 our failure to take our many chances in the first 35 mins
3 our sloppy play in the second half
4 our inability to get Dimi Nabbout Joey C involved in the second half
5 some sloppy defending by Johnny K and then a complete lack of urgency when that ball ballooned up in the air and was not cleared by us

Blame Bert all you like but the players are to blame tonight
1 in particularly if we pointing fingers

Hoffman was having an impact

You see how many promising attacks he killed tonight in the second half just by falling over with no one near him ??

Must have been doing his teammates heads in because it was doing mine

this was the first game of the season I've been able to get to

all in all, an utterly shit night and I'd have been much better off staying at home

Expected this....just too many injuries caught up with us. Hopefully they start coming back now and we learn from the experience.

Missing too many players was always going to be a tough ask. Despite the injury list we really did make city look like a bunch of chumps in that first half.

Lost our way in the 2nd and it is clear that Ernie does not trust the full extent of the squad..

Can honestly see some comings and goings in January.

Johnny K should have been hooked before Hoffman - he was honking in the 2nd half. He as very solid in the first half though.

But in saying that I have no issues with any of the players last night. Any team with as many key players out as we have would have struggled.

Instead, the team put on a magnificent 1st half display which might otherwise have given us a 3 goal lead at half time.

It wasn't to be - a few lapses of concentration are to be expected with such a young and by no means our best team on the park.

We move on, we learn from it, and know that last nights loss was still a thousand times better than the shit Stubbins, Miller, and Jones gave us every week.

I think thats right, the first 35 minutes were brilliant (much like the second half of the Sydney game) and we could have had the game locked away on any other night.

Second half was showing a lack of experience. I won't call it lack of depth as the players showed for the first 35 minutes that they could play. Lots to look forward to with this squad, particularly when players start to return.

Nabbout being taken down in the box looked very simiar to the penalty call that City got, anyone seen the replay? Not a fan of that ref though, always seems to stooge us.

Some of the stuff in the first half was excellent, and it wasn't just hard and fast counter attacking either. We were holding possession, passing it round and still creating plenty of opportunities. I think the lack of experience combined with the sucker punch of that penalty probably threw us off for the second half. Still, for the amount of injuries we have and the amount of young players out there, pretty good performance. Bouzanis got lucky on a couple of those saves (thinking Champness' one on one and Dimis left from an acute angle), if we have score another goal or two it could have ended up another comfortable win.

Why everyone keep saying we had a young side out there??

Kanta Topor Moss Boogaard Hoffman

All have been playing in the HAL for over 10 years

Dimi has been playing in it for 7 years
Nabbout has been playing in it for 4-5 years
Sugar has been playing in it for a few years

That ****ing 8/11 of the starting side who ain't even close to rookies

because Ernie is too nice to (rightly) put this loss on Boogaard.

Sometimes I wish Miller was still in charge, can you imaging the press conference it would have been amazing
