HNY all fozzers.

Will raise a glass of Scotland's finest at midnight to Ernie, Lawrie and Barnsey who will be on the telly.

Will be home by then because apparently the year ends at 9.30pm in the Hunter Valley!

Enjoy "just another night" everyone.

Try not to get sucker punched by some lout.

My goals are, not to make any goals.

So I've both succeeded and failed already.

oh this is one of my great loves.

the annual "shoppers OUTRAGED by hot cross buns out earlier" story on the news.

saw one last night, and there were a lot of very poor looking people complaining about it.

the usual "big CORPORATION trying to PROFIT" and "GREEDY CORPORATIONS" being tossed about.

oh the joy of seeing people so miserable about such an insignificant event.

god bless their pathetic little lives.

might go buy some today just to make a scene.

Spot on...Coles have sold a million buns already. It's called demand.

That said I do get riled by the consumer push from one event to the next...no doubt "back to school" catalogues will be in the post this week.

I'm still in Christmas mode...plenty of food and grog left, one more test match and I don't take the decorations down till 6th January.

as someone with some knowledge in this area it’s quite deliberate.

A lot of parents are buying ‘back to school’ stuff as Christmas presents. This avoids the inevitable double dip of needing to buy useless shit for their turd kids at Christmas and then turn around and spend up again in January.

It’s actually a pretty savvy strategy.

Plus it would be an awesome joy to sit there at Chrissy watching some asshole kid unwrap some crappy pencils and compass set then pointing any complaints straight at the jolly old fat man in the sleigh.

The asshole kids may think they are winning the battle, but the parents have yet to surrender the war.

Used to hate it when I was a kid. Just finished school, enjoyed Chrissy and with still four weeks of beach bumming to go getting pushed by the TV ads to get new shoes and uniforms.
