Froze to death at Swansea yesterday to watch Sawnsea v Dudley which is usually tight affairs.
1st 1-2
Reggies 3-3 Swansea getting a goal with the last kick via an OG you had to see it to believe it
3rds 1-5 and Swansea lead 1-0 before Dudley put 5 away
1st was a tough contest as always between these 2 and the wind and rain did no favours. A draw would of been a fair result Dudley stole all 3 points

Everytime I've watched Warner's bay they've been quality, very unlucky not to get points from suns and Kotara.
Watched Mayfield Cardiff yesterday, didn't look like either team should be top of the table, but I suppose conditions didn't help.
Are all three tiger teams the most disliked in the comp?

1. Cardiff are more near the bottom.....thats maybe why they don't look like a top of the table team. Mayfield cant comment haven't seen them play this year.

Haha was just having a laugh with the all three tigers comment, don't know much about Cardiff, was my first time watching them yesterday and they were very unlucky not to take points - that penalty goes in, it's a different game.
Don't really belong to anyone, just been watching a bit more zpl this year cos it's free entry. Seen more Warner's bay and suns games than any other teams. Maybe biased from watching those two but surprised both aren't higher on the table

Why ain’t anyone offered to flick the bean yet? I’d like to give the bean a little flick.
Mayfield haven’t lost a game yet, so deservedly sit top (for now). But Kotara have scored the most goals and conceded the least. So maybe they kick it long, but they still defend better than anyone else and have more wins than anyone else. Rather than coming onto a nameless forum to cry foul, why don’t yas focus on your own teams. Boohoo someone called me a c@nt. maybe stop being one (if you are), and if not, sticks and stones amigo.
It’s the same story every year, the teams winning don’t deserve to be and are unpopular because a few babies think their mummas play nicer football.
Dudley will win it all and give you a new reason to whinge. Case closed.

Dudley - but i see a lot of goals in this one
Suns
Mayf-Cardiff draw
warners bay
kotara by about 6 goals
everyone very easily upset in here, was about 1 comment a week before i turned up. I'll stop commenting on kotara related issues to avoid causing offence.
when i asked for some predictions and just general football discussion got no response. interestingly i almost picked a full round - if cardiff had scored their penalty it could have easily been a draw too!

If they sort out there defencive issues for sure, but at this stage they won’t be winning the title. The top 3 100% deserve to be there. There is no questions.
Mayfield, very solid and just seem to get it done.
Dudley are class.
And kotara have proven and made very clear they are the team to beat at this stage.

Suns definitely need to work on the defence, but have been hammered with injuries and player availability the last 4 weeks. Should have most back on deck following the week off against Warners Bay. After that Suns play Mayfield, Dudley and Kotara consecutively. Will know whether they are contenders or pretenders after that.

Mid season review:
1. Mayfield – Very consistent and undefeated. Play a very scrappy game, but have a lot a quality around the team to get the job done. They play a very high line and pressing game. Best attack with 24 in 9 games.
2. Kotara* - Probs the best team so far. Very quick up front and strong everywhere else. I’ve noticed their quite reliant on the counter attack with their speed. Sitting a little deeper may help. Best defence with 7 goals in 8 games.
3. Dudley – Strong all over the park. I don’t think their quite good enough to challenge Mayfield or Kotara, but much better than the rest. Great in possession and always a great finals team.
4. Suns – No draws so far this year. Still with a bit of quality on the park, like always they can be on fire or implode amongst themselves. Cover the key players and they’ve got nothing else.
5. Warners Bay – Also no draws. Seem to be quite inconsistent. Good one week and terrible the next. Look vulnerable to the counter attack the few times I have seen them.
6. Swansea – Also inconsistent. Haven’t seen them much so not much to report.
7. Bero* - Strong with Danny “The rock” Burt and sloppy without him. Love hitting a long ball, but a bit slow at the back. Will have to make the small Bero field work for themt he rest of the year.
8. Jesmond – Lack the depth to challenge.
9. Cardiff – A very scrappy team. Just missing the quality needed to challenge for finals. I’m wondering when all of these injured played are coming back to save them. Worst attack with 8 goals in 9 games.
10. Barnsley – Equally a poor as Cardiff. Just too many holes around the field. Have not seen much of them though.
*1 game in hand
End of year predictions:

3. Dudley

This literally only affects Kotara and Bero. Not sure why anyone cares. They are the ones having to organise mid week games and play with a short turnaround. Playing on a spare weekend makes sense, but isn't compulsory. If both clubs agreed then there shouldn't be a need for further discussion really.

kotara should have enough quality to beat cardiff, but i'll say cardiff will be keep themselves in it, only lose by 1.
swansea to beat bero
mayfield to beat jesmond but jesmond to be super up for the game following the 4-0 in the first round.
barnsley dudley probably the most entertaining match of the round, pretty heated in the first round from memory. i'll say barnsley scrape an ugly draw.

No doubt they can score goals. But this season they have really leaked them
Definitely. Aside from the obvious huge loss of Kev Davison to Charlestown we have had no consistency with our defence this year. On the weekend gone we had someone start left back who has played third grade majority of the season due to unavailable players last week. In the back four alone I can count off the top of my head that we have had 9 different players start there in our 10 rounds this season which is never going to be easy with those inconsistencies. Hopefully over the next few weeks we can have some regularity back there and that will help with the number of rubbish goals we have been conceding.

I feel Suns have too much quality after watching them and have heard they have everyone back for all grades for the rest of the season, but I feel like Mayfield’s consistency can help them to the title, Dudley & Kotara to inconsistent and I don’t think Swansea have enough quality for top 4

Surely no washouts. Some big games
Cardiff v Swansea - I think Cardiff will put a dent in Swansea's finals ambitions.
Jesmond v Kotara - Hard to see anything other than a 9 point day for Kotara
Suns v Mayfield - Should be a ball tearer. Suns out to prove they can match the top few. Mayfield a chance to flex their muscles and send a statement. I think the Suns might burst the Mayfield bubble
Dudley v Warners Bay - These are the kind of games Dudley would drop points in the past. If they are serious the can't let it happen. I think Dudley in a tight one
Bero v Barnsley - Shin pads could be the winner here. This game will be physical and the chatter on the sidelines bloody funny and these are the games Barnsley need to pinch points to survive and I think they will today
Cognitio
23-06-2018, 12:39 AM
Cardiff 2 v Swansea 2 - Cardiff saying they have a few back on board. While Swansea coming off a big win last match. Cant separate them.
Jesmond 0 v Kotara 2 - Kotara way too fast and strong here. They have scored twice in their last 3 games and are undefeated in 5. After 5-0 loss last week Jesmond have lost 3 in a row and look like there not up to the top level teams of this comp.
Suns 2 v Mayfield 3 - Both teams on form. Suns have won 4 in a row and Mayfield 5 out of their last 6 and remain undefeated. Strong attacks as well with Mayfield scoring 12 in their last three games while Suns have scored 10. Will be tight but I think Mayfield's consistency will bring them another win.
Dudley 1 v Warners Bay 1 - I think Dudley will slip up here. They should dominate but wont be able to take a win.
Bero 2 v Barnsley 2 - Another draw. Barnsley have lost their last seven games while Bero have lost their last 4 conceding 16 goals. Can't pick a winner.

Suns hosted the good tigers.

Not the 7-5 win I had anticipated. Boring mayfield.

mayfield have only had 1-1s with the rest of the top four havent they? sounds like they just park the bus and then bully the other teams.
Warners Bay have scored 4 against Suns. Although I suppose credit to mayfield defence - kotara shipped a lot of goals to suns didnt they?

Actually all three grounds at Barnsley have drainage, the old ground the senior use to play on was the first done. Seems you've gone off half cocked.
Also this year the senior and junior club took the great step of becoming one club. As a result of this the single field became the premier ground. So really you couldn't be more wrong, just get you drainage sorted and this wouldn't be a topic, Barnsley have managed to get three ovals done, so just one shouldn't be to hard

You do remember your club got caught trying to cheat the system and call of games when the fields were dry and the association punished you by giving all three games to New Lambton.
But yeah , no irony when trying to call out other clubs and say fields were dry when called off

Still don't see the irony, I said fix the drainage, instead of spending your money on players. Once again we at Barnsley have never spent money on players and have invested in drainage. Please explain the irony with that, because I've missed it somewhere.
That year against lambton has just given our club a better understanding of what is deemed playable by the association, and I'm sure alot of clubs wash out way before they see it unfit.

I think times have changed a little bit on that score.
The rules always used to be if the ball ain't going to get stuck in mud/water...you play. The threshold for calling off a game seems to have shifted markedly over the last couple of years.
I'm not sure whether Lake Macquarie Council have introduced it, but Newcastle City Council have introduced a 'risk assessment tool (or some shit) regarding potential damage to a ground, and it is expected that clubs abide by this or face Council sanctions.
My assumption is that they have held conversations with Northern/Newy Football about this, otherwise clubs may be at each others throats regarding what is deemed 'playable'.

That was the case when the Barnsley v lambton game was called, the ovals committee was asked to make a blanket call for the whole weekend on a Friday afternoon, as Friday night comps where due to use the ground. They deemed it unsafe and ground damage risk to high so called it closed for whole weekend. Then new lambton came out on Saturday mid morning and said it couldve been used, they contacted the association. The association then stated we should've waited until last minute to make closure call for zone league games. This is my reason for calling clubs out, when they deemed it unfit the day before, with a clear forecast ahead.

Swansea to beat Jesmond
Barnsley to upset Cardiff
Warners Bay v Bero. Toss a coin here
Dudley v Suns The fiercest rivalry in this grade with real hatred that's developed over time from being so competitive. Dudley at home should be up for it and to strong.
Kotara v Mayfield if you believe what you read on the forum this may aswell be 7v7 cause they both pump it over the midfields head. But in al seriousness it will be a game that will show who is the real deal and could go either way.

Solid day from the Suns yesterday picking up 7/9 points available. Thirds could have pinched it at the death in thirds in what would have been unfair for Dudley as it was the one grade they dominated on the day. Three very had fought contests that were good to watch. Most of Dudley rolled in to watch the game but were kept quiet for most of the day.
Good chance both clubs could meet again in the late part of the season which will be exciting for this competitive rivalry.

What a contrast from wednesday night! Lucky Andre the giant in goals turned up because noone else did, he no doubt saved Kotara. Very unfortunate for mayfield, chance after chance went begging.
Are kotara a one trick pony? midfield and attack almost non existant. Seems they couldn't adapt very well to what was coming at them IMO. Very lucky rebound for Kotara's goal, had a good view of it down near the canteen.
How long until the res grade keeper out at bero gets a shot at first grade or are the current guy and the coach mates?

Had the pleasure of Swansea v Jesmond Saturday and it was like Jesmond trotted out new lower grades real surprising but deserved wins. Swansea 1st were never really troubled at all.
Sunday I was at Dudley. I agree with Lofty Dudley 3rds dominated and Suns pinched a draw but 2 of the better sides in this comp.
Reserves Suns defended well and their keeper kept them organized. Dudley butchered a heap of chances. Draw would of been fair but the Suns battled and you could argue with their 3 points.
Then the reason I headed down. This game had passion, skill and goals and you can see the dislike for each other on the park (off it looks a bit more friendlier). Suns got an early penalty then Dudley grabbed one and surprisingly Suns pinched 2 for a 3-1 lead. Very entertaining and could of been 3-1 Dudleys way or 3-3 but Suns more clinical. Dudley came home with a wet sail and scored another the had 2 goals disallowed for offside with the first one clearly onside and even the Suns boys knew they dodged a bullet. Suns got away with the victory with a bit of luck but you need that in a season.
As a neutral I've seen all the teams more than once and what I saw at Dudley was a class above the other teams. They both knocked the ball around well and will both be there abouts on Grand final day

Overall a very fair report. I didn't see Thirds, only got there for Reserves and Firsts. Reserves was a strange event, Suns for most of the game were slightly more fluent, Suns got the lead they deserved but turned to defense to hold it out, playing a slightly negative style (which I completely think is fine, we all love to win) but I do have to say there was an element of luck, as Suns looked tired, very tired!
Firsts - Agree with everything besides could've been 3-1 to Dudley, you cannot take away any of the Suns 3 goals, 2 goals of absolute class and a Penalty. So yes, 3-3 was a possibility but the luck went the Suns way.

Ressies Suns player much better in the first half. Missed a few really good chances. The boys in second half were looking very tired, although the fact we have two boys start that played a full game in thirds didn’t help. Great effort from the boys I thought.
Firsts I don’t think Dudley did enough to win, so to say it should have been Dudley winning 3-1 is a bit of a stretch considering the Suns 3-1 half time lead was well and truly deserved. Wasn’t any luck in their goals although the penalty was dumb defending with a challenge made when it looked like the ball could have been running out. The Suns third goal was a
S classy as you’ll see in this comp this year. Great football
Both of Dudley’s goals came from suns errors.

I agree with Forever the result was deceiving with 1 maybe 2 clearly onside goals ruled out late. Even the Suns agreed the acrobaticle effort from the 9 was clearly onside

If you class a header from a corner back across goals for shot from 2 yards open play then ok. I probably wasn't paying as close attention as you, you seem to be pretty obsessed with Kotara to be fair
Pretty certain I said their chances they didn’t score were from open play. I didn’t mention the Mayfield goal at all. My 7 year old cousin can tutor you on comprehension skills if you’re keen

Haha you really are a bitter old man. Suns are cruising. Could have been up by more after 30 mins. From then it was always going to end up being about definding the lead. Sloppy defending led to the second Dudley goal which made for an exciting end to the game. I couldn’t tell if they were offside or not, but if they weren’t then that’s just unlucky

Every post I ever see from you seems to sound like an old bitter man that can never say anything positive. I could be wrong, you might be a bloody young pup under 30 or 40 even that's really happy and I'm just way off the mark. Happy to accept if I'm wrong.

You said
Also Mayfield hit the crossbar 2 or 3 times.....from open play
And i referred to one of the two crossbar hits you mentioned and pointed out that i wouldnt really consider a header from a corner across goals for a close range shot open play. Comprehend?
Anyway, not to take anything away from the green tigers, they are a well organised side and put in 100% effort, like i said they were unlucky not to get the points.

Tips for the weekend
Cardiff 2-2 Warners Bay
6th vs 7th and pressure’s mounting on the Bay if they want to reach finals. The top 4 is looking set, but if the Bay can go on a run they still have a chance. Wins over Barnsley and Bero last week respectively puts both team on a high but I can’t separate them.
Jesmond 2-1 Barnsley
Bottom of the table clash and a fight for relegation. Barnsley have not won in 8 games while Jesmond have lost their last 5 straight conceding 17 goals. Could be a tight one but I’ve picked the home team who should rebound now after playing Swansea, Kotara, Mayfield and the Suns in their last 4.
Mayfield 3-1 Swansea
Mayfield are coming off 2 straight 1-1 draws against top four opposition (Kotara, Suns) but remain undefeated for the season. Swansea are coming off 2 wins and 9 goals. Like the Bay pressure is on Swansea if they want to crack this strong top 4 and be around during finals. Mayfield should be too strong at home this time.
Suns 2-3 Kotara
Suns are undefeated in 6 and are up to their third top 4 opponent in as many weeks. Kotara are undefeated in 8 games with their only defeat this year coming at the hands of the Suns in round 4 (3-2). Kotara were poor last week and will bounce back to stay top of the table.
Beresfield 0-3 Dudley
Dudley’s form has slipped in recent weeks with loses to competition rivals Kotara and Suns recently. Bero have lost their last 6 games shipping 26 goals in the process while only scoring 4. Dudley to win comfortably but could be another game where to score gets out of hand if Dudley get some early goals.

Barnsley Jesmond will be an ugly draw

Suns will beat kotara i reckon.

I disagree with Warners Bay they have no shot of making top 4 and I think Cardiff will beat them comfortably.
I feel like Mayfield is due a loss but I can see how you have them winning.
I don’t think Kotara will beat the Suns either but i can see 3-3 happening.

I was at the game too, Yes the Bero Keeper got caught out with the wind and I'm sure was embarrassed ….. not unlike the Liverpool Keeper some weeks ago.... shit happens and a bad mistake doesn't make a bad keeper.... he pulled off some good saves in the second half and apart from the goal he cost his team by being caught out... he didn't cost them the game his back line hung him out to dry and especially the last goal the poor bugger had to deal with a barrage of Dudley players he made 2 saves with no help and 3 Dudley players were fighting over who would score and where were the Bero defenders...??? And yes the young fella had 2 good games and his time will come just cos the 1st grade keeper made 1 mistake doesn't warrant being dropped...

I agree the defense did him zero favours and the fact the best defender they have in Danny Burt played striker baffles. With them leaking 8 against Kotara aswell thought might be time for a change. Bero in all sorts and my new favorite to go down. I can see how they pick up any more points. With teams around them battling harder

Horrible conditions. Council thought it would be a brilliant idea to core the entire ground on Wednesday leaving us with an absolute mine field. We had no option other than to get use of the heavy roller from the cricket club to roll the ground leaving it harder than our usual concrete like ground. Piss poor from the council to do that mid season a few days out from a game with no warning.
Kotara goal came from a back pass header that fell short and left the striker with just the keeper to beat. Aside from that, they didn't offer too much. Suns had much of the better chances but were lucky to go ahead just before half time with a cross turned into the Kotara net from their defender. The Suns sealed it with a late goal but definitely offered a lot more across the park throughout the game.
It's definitely tightened things up the top of the table now. Just 4 points between 1st and 4th place.
The Suns have picked up 6 wins and a draw from the last 7 seven games and now play against all teams outside the top 4. Beresfield this week despite their poor form they will be sure to lift against the Suns especially at the postage stamp with most of the Beresfield community usually there in attendance.

Last 5/6 Games – (C.U.) = catch up games
1. Mayfield (29) – Barnsley, Warners Bay, Dudley, Bero, Cardiff
2. Kotara (27) – Swansea, Barnsley, Warners Bay, Dudley, Bero
3. Dudley (27) – Cardiff, Jesmond, Mayfield, Kotara, Swansea
4. Suns (25) – Bero, Swansea, Cardiff, Barnsley, Jesmond
With only 4 points separating these teams, the fight for the minor premiership has not been this close for many seasons. Mayfield seem to play a consistent game to grab the points each week, while the Suns are coming home like a house on fire. With the finals seemingly set, all four teams are looking quite even. Who’s got it in them to take the minor premiership?
5. Swansea (18) – Cardiff (C.U.), Kotara, Suns, Barnsley, Warners Bay, Dudley
6. Warners Bay (15) – Jesmond, Mayfield, Kotara, Swansea, Barnsley
7. Cardiff (14) – Swansea (C.U.), Dudley, Bero, Suns, Jesmond, Mayfield
Are the finals now out of reach for these teams? A win for Swansea in their catch-up game would take them to 21 points.
8. Jesmond (8) – Warners Bay, Dudley, Bero, Cardiff, Suns
9. Bero (8) – Barnsley (C.U.), Suns, Cardiff, Jesmond, Mayfield, Kotara

For me Mayfied have the softest run in so for me it's theirs to lose. Not sure I would want that run in to semis not to much semi final standard there. Dudleys run although far harder of the 4 should have them playing finals standard weeks before.
Relegation = Bero can't see them stopping goals or scoring them. The catchup game against Barnsley will go a long way in determining who goes down

After reviewing the copious amounts of fan mail we received over the weekend, we can confirm the fastest striker in the league was absent on the weekend for Kotara.
In short after reading people moaning, it was a crap game and the suns were gifted the win. A dubious penalty, an own goal and a late 3rd in stoppage time as kotara sent numbers forward.
But excuses are excuses, they don’t win titles. Suns won and are firming as title favourites.
Our sources tell us Bero were terrible weeks ago, but have since lost players and now are spiralling toward the trap door. Jesso are also putting in strong claims to return to League 1 having scored the lowest amount of goals in the league and put out more than Islington Street crawlers.
Cardiff and Swansea have left their run too late. Could play a part by taking points off the top 4.
Dudley continue being the quiet achievers and Mayfield continue to outwork every team they come up against. Kotara are in danger of falling out of the title race whilst it seems only a kebapi shortage can unsettle suns in their current form.

Weekends tips
Saturday
Swansea 2 vs. Kotara 2
Swansea’s top four hopes were crushed by a goal fest 4-3 loss to Mayfield last week. They’re still a possibility but will need to beat one of the other competition Tigers in Kotara. Kotara also lost last week to the competitions form team, Suns (3-1).
Swansea have now conceded 13 goals in their last 5 games and coming up against the competitions top goals scorers (39). Could be worrying for a leaky defence. Swansea at home will be desperate though and I’m tipping them for a draw.
Barnsley 1 vs. Mayfield 0
Barnsley’s fight for survival was boosted by a first win in 9 games over Jesmond last week (2-0). While the Mayfield consistency train continues to roll on after another win against Swansea (4-3).
I’ve gone for a total upset this round with the home team kicking on from their win last week to upset table toppers Mayfield. I now it’s a wild tip, but I’ve seen bottom teams upset the top teams before. For me, if Mayfield are going to be beaten this year, it could come when they’re least expecting it and from a desperate Barnsley at home.
Sunday
Warners Bay 3 vs. Jesmond 1
Like Swansea, the Bay’s finals push was crushed last week by a disappointing 4-0 loss to Cardiff. Jesmond are not looking any better with a home loss to bottom of the table Barnsley (2-0).
Jesmond have now lost 6 games on the trot and are 1 point from the bottom, while Warners Bay are 7 points outside the top 4 having lost 3 out of their last 4 games. I expect the Bay to come out on top at home.
Dudley 2 vs. Cardiff 1
Last week, Dudley got back to winning ways with a 2-0 win over Bero. While Cardiff produced a strong victory against the Bay (4-0).
I expect Dudley to be too strong having won 4 out of their last 5. Cardiff look like they have finally got their act together winning 3 out of 5. Could be tight, but I’m tipping Dudley to continue their under the radar run into the finals.
Bero 0 vs. Suns 4
Bero are looking in big trouble. They’ve now lost 7 games in a row and are 1 point from the bottom. While the Suns have now won 6 out of their last 7 games, only drawing to table toppers Mayfield.
This seems like a one-sided tie. Bero have conceded 26 goals in the last 6 games while the Suns have scored 18 in their last 6. I’m backing Suns to continue their late drive for the title.

tips:
Swansea 1 - kotara 3
kotara to bounce back, swansea will be desperate but just dont have the quality at the end of the day. Kotara have had a few bad games in a row now and will be up for it. maybe will have their whippet back up front and their midfield will remember how to play long balls.
barnsley 2 - mayfield 4
similar to the above. mayfield havent kept a clean sheet for a while, and barnsley will make a game of it. cant see their defence being up to it.
warners bay 1-jesmond 0
the bay are better than their league position suggests. they have a mean defence and will see this one out.
dudley 1 - cardiff 1
two ugly teams playing ugly football. although dudley actually play a lot nicer this year with their hold up through lawless. still ugly blokes though
bero 0 - suns one million

Was thinking this myself actually, but as been shown and said we are struggling at bero this year so I think the bogey could be over so to speak
Never less looking forward to a tough hard game as it always is against you guys

Well, ventured out to land of two heads and the best drainage to watch Barnsley vs Mayfield.
What a spectacle the off field antics were. Move over Kotara we saw some next level sideline abuse. Glad I left the kids in at disney on ice.
On to the football tho, wasn't the best football played but as a neutral it was good to watch, plenty of goals. Drainage FC unlucky to not get a point today.

Swansea v Kotara
1st, 1-0 (if only the fastest striker in the comp/whippet knew how to pass and not think he's a one man show) Swansea also had another goal disallowed from a dodgy offside call.

The young fella has come a long way under the guidance of the old fella unfortunately for the two keepers they have been hung out to dry by their defenses all year doesn't matter who plays in goal the keeper is only as good as the team in front of him...!

Weekends tips
Saturday
Cardiff 3 vs. Beresfield 1
Both Cardiff and Bero suffered heavy defeats last week losing 4-1 and 5-1. Bero have now lost 8 in a row scoring only 5 goals and conceding 36 in the process (4.5 per game, avg.). Cardiff’s finals hopes are now gone with their 1-0 loss to Swansea midweek. A desperate Bero could make things interesting, however a toothless attack and that poor defence may not hold out against even a Cardiff team with nothing to play for.
Mayfield 3 vs. Warners Bay 2
Mayfield continued their push for the minor premiership with a second 4-2 win in a row. While the Bay also got up 2-0 over Jesmond and are still yet to draw a match this year. The Bay have lost all their games against top four opponents this year while Mayfield have scored 3 or more goals against teams outside the top four in every match this year. Mayfield should score goals. Can the Bay match them on this occasion?
Sunday
Suns 2 vs. Swansea 1
Suns continued their late drive for the title with a 5-1 win over hapless Bero. While Swansea final’s push was boosted with a 1-0 win over out of form Kotara and a midweek 1-0 win over Cardiff. Suns are now undefeated in 8 games with their last loss coming to Swansea last round (3-2). Swansea have now won 4 of their last 5 games and with only a 3 point gap between them and 4th place Kotara, they’ve put themselves right back in the mix. Have Swansea got it in them to continue their finals run against the competitions form team?
Jesmond 0 vs. Dudley 3
Jesmond suffered their 7th loss in a row last week while Dudley continued their winning ways against Cardiff. Jesmond were able to grab a 2-2 draw last time these teams met. Both teams have a lot to play for but Dudley who’ve won 5 of their last 6, should have too much quality for a poor Jesmond side. With only 1 goal in their last 5 games, Jesmond must get their act together to stay in the competition.
Kotara 2 vs. Barnsley 0
Kotara’s loss to Swansea last week was their second in a row and makes them winless in their last 3 games. This has seen them drop from top position down to 4th on the ladder and becoming at risk of dropping out of the top four altogether. Barnsley’s relegation fight took a blow last week with 4-2 loss to competition leaders, Mayfield. Barnsley will be desperate, but equally, Kotara must get back to winning ways to see off Swansea’s late drive for 4th. Which team will be more desperate for a win?

TIPS FOR THE WEEKEND
Cardiff 3-2 Beresfield
Beresfield are struggling against everyone, but a draw MIGHT happen.
Mayfield 4-1 Warners Bay
Mayfield continue there title hopes and the undefeated season is still alive.
Suns 3-1 Swansea
Suns are the form team of the comp and I think they stop Swansea’s push for top 4.
Jesmond 1-3 Dudley
Dudley will keep the pressure on Mayfield and it all comes down to the big game next
week against Mayfield for the title.
Kotara 4-2 Barnsley
Kotara get back to winning ways and should go 6 points clear of Swansea.

Weekends tips
Saturday
Cardiff 1 vs. Suns 4
Cardiff’s season is over and will result in a mid-table finish. While the Suns will still be pushing to try and catch Mayfield or Dudley for the premiership. With Suns now winning 8 of their past 9 games, I can’t see them stopping now. Cardiff have however, won 3 of their last 4 games, scoring 13 goals in those games. Cardiff have not won any games this year against the current top 5 teams and with the Suns coming away with a narrow 1-0 win last time around, I’m tipping Suns to get on top again.
Barnsley 1 vs. Swansea 2
Barnsley put themselves back in the survival mix two weeks ago with a win over Jesmond, but have since lost to both Mayfield and Kotara. While still last, it is extremely tight between themselves, Bero and Jesmond for relegation (maybe). Swansea’s top four hopes could be over with a 2-0 loss to form team, Suns. They are now 6 points behind Kotara with 3 games to go. There still a possibility for top 4, but will need to take maximum point from a desperate Barnsley away from home. I’m tipping a repeat score line from their last meeting in round 7.
Sunday
Warners Bay 0 vs. Kotara 3
Kotara got back to winning ways last week and with Swansea’s loss to Suns, they might have survived their scare of dropping out of the top 4. The Bay have continued their inconsistent year with a loss to Mayfield (4-1) last week. Last round, Kotara edge the game 2-1 and with the Bays season over and Kotara desperate to stay in the top 4, I’ve tipped Kotara to win comfortably.
Dudley 2 vs. Mayfield 2
Could this be the match that decides the premiership? Dudley have now won 5 out of their last 6 games. While Mayfield have now made it 15 games undefeated. Both teams have interestingly scored 12 goals in their last 3 games each. Last time around saw a 1-1 draw between these teams. With both teams scoring freely, it looks like it could come to the defence to see who can hold out the other team.
Beresfield 1 vs. Jesmond 3
With Bero having now lost 9 games in a row and Jesmond now losing 8 games in a row, the loser of this game probably deserves to be relegated this season (maybe). The last time these sides met saw Jesmond win 5-1 which was the last time they picked up points this season. Jesmond have only score 2 goals in their last 6 games. But with Bero conceding a whopping 30 goals in their last 6, now is the time for Jesmond to fix their toothless attack.

Cardiff v Suns - Form team blah blah we know the result here, although it would be good to see the kebapi knocked down a peg.
Barnsley v Swans - Swans to win meaning the deathmatch (can't wait!) between Barnsley and Bero is getting closer.
Warners Bay v Kotara - Kotara to be like a tiger in Thailand zoo, doped up and non-threatening, I'm seeing a draw here.
Dudley v Mayfield - Both teams to go out and try not to lose, tipping a snooze fest of 0:0.
Bero v Jeso - Better off going to watch Cooks Hill vs Raymond Terrace than spending the afternoon watching two ZL3 teams go at it.

Let's just see what happens come September. Fourth year in ZPL. Top 4 the last 3 years, on track for 4 now. Grand finals the past two years all without paying a single cent to any player ain't too bad.
This year is as close a comp in recent memory. Minor premiership still realistic to 3, maybe 4 clubs. Grand final could go anywhere. Mayfield, Dudley and Suns looking likely to have all three grades playing finals football.
The next three rounds is going to be like finals football for a lot of teams not forgetting the battle at the bottom of the table definitely hotting up too.
