Aaahhhh the good old Sydney win/draw double chance bet in Newcastle.
God it’s made me some cash over the years.
Carney a lock to score too, and I’m legit thinking of betting on someone to get a red.

I'm a closet fan of Boogs. Be a big miss to lose him for an extended period of time. Jackson is decent. Not "title winning" decent though which I think Boogs/Topor partnership is close to. Others would disagree but I think it's the most solid we've looked at the back since North/Dura time

Unlike the EPL, the FFA don't move games around during the season to suit (except for the ACL moves for example - they need a reason rather than be proactive).
For example if this season West Brom were amazingly top of the table with Man City we would see any game between them as match of the round.
Jets were not expected to perform so we got the graveyard shift. I was shocked when I realised that the Melbourne derby was actually the Friday game as I though all along we were the lead in game to that.

This game is very important, not so much for the race to be 1st, or even for keeping 2nd place. It’s more for confidence that if we make the grand final we can beat Sydney. We got close in both games, but in the final close isn’t a win. We’ve never played Sydney with a full strength team which is encouraging but a win this Saturday is a must

so you don't see anything advantagous in beating 1st place who have seldom been beat in two seasons so that the team has confidence that come May when we actually play them we have the belief that we can beat them?
Regardless of win or lose they'll be going into May knowing they can do it, but I know from when I used to play football that playing a team that you generally lost to made it harder to get into that mentality then a team we would generally beat, or at least beat more often then not.

reminds me of the American bloke who takes the piss out of every serious journo every year as they ask coaches if this week is a 'must win' game.
then he turns up at Superbowl media day and asks everyone he can find (right in front of the serious journos) if the Superbowl is a 'must win' game.
we dont 'have' to win on saturday. and we wont win on saturday.
so you don't see anything advantagous in beating 1st place who have seldom been beat in two seasons so that the team has confidence that come May when we actually play them we have the belief that we can beat them?

I see little to be gained in actually winning on Saturday
I would rather these cunce keep up the illusion that they unbeatable etc.
I want the media cunce to keep up with the Blue Aids going to win the comp BS they like spruiking.
I want them right for the picking come May when 20000 Novacastrians descend on that shithole called Sydney and take from them what they think they already have.
Our blokes are putting up enough against them both times already to have themselves believing they can win. Put 20k of Novacastrians roaring them on and these Blue Aids cunce dont haave a chance in hell
When we get to the GF we can unleash Ronny Pato Roy and co on them and give them everything we have.
When we off celebrating the media can have fun working out how Blue Aids got mugged in the GF whilst failing to see that we were the team to beat all season and deserving champions.
**** winning Saturday.
Physcologically it best if we win battle of the bench by throwing out tactics and ideas to trial or hide now but to exploit at a later date.
Arnolds a ****ing Gypo dope.

i think a yellow. way i saw it, boijs ran across his line, and roy tried to get his hands behind boijs back to shove him out of the way. it did look bad in super-slow motion replays, but the point is, everything does!
and again, VAR intervenes in a situation i don't think he should have. beath had a direct line of sight of the incident. why did he intervene??

Bozza thinks Roy did nothing wrong. He also thinks sfc players reaction was a disgrace and action should be taken.
Bozza says Sfc player not even looking at ball. Roy looking at ball and hands went up to protect himself not to strike sfc player.

ernie's presser, make sure you watch to the end, his closing comments are gold.
The actual scary thing for Blue Aids is how without Pato and Vargas we hammered them on the counter with only 10 men.
To be fair we actually created better chances in the second half and could have had 3-4-5 if we had our finishing boots on
Given how we play with 11 we going to be doing that more to them. Add players of the quality of Vargas and Pato thisx space and it going to be a total carve up

just watched the pressers. to be fair to arnie, he didn't really offer any excuses.
Gypo Arnie is a above averaged size fish in a very very small pond.
anyone looking at him thinking he has all the answers is kidding themselves.
he is winning because he has the 'best' players.
Ernie showed tonight that his 2 most important cogs can be nullified. Gypo had no answer for that. Ernie was by far the more aggressive coach even though he was a man down. It was stunning to watch.

What an epic game of football!!!
Disgusting behaviour from Bujis, rolling like a pig... Ref had a clear view and initially gave free kick to the Jets... then got a call from FFA, couldn't be more evident...
I booed the diver all game... lost my voice... Sydney FFA supporters around me weren't impressed :D
Then ref must've felt guilty and started acting like a normal ref... you know, giving yellows for hacking and penalties for clear fouls in the box.
Syd FFA players and fans are not used to it... boo fkn hoo.
Jets played a perfect game for the circumstances: blocked Nink and minimised Adrian. Carney and Brosque... who?
Another goal from set pieces though, a bit too many this year. Apart from that, defence was superb: very concerned for knee injury to Boogs, he's been fantastic.
Brown and Kanta did the "dirty" work on Nink, well done. Uga, Mc Gree, Dimi (that post...), wow.
Another gem from Nabbout, I really hope this wasn't his last match, it would be awful at this point in the season.
We should have scored 2 more at least, finishing games like these is something we need to work on.
Amazing crowd.

Surely we will be appealing that red card! One of the jets must have dropped off a sniper - that was absurd what that no 5 wanker rolled around for!
Outstanding crowd- created a good ol' fashioned home ground advantage that our super team took full advantage of.

actually ima stand up for the ref a wee bit.
i was happy with his initial decisions on both the red card AND the Ninkovic tackle.
for some reason though the VAR got its nose in on one of them (IMO incorrectly) but stayed out of the other.
Did anyone see the No#5 make contact with Nabbouts face in the 2nd half? because it looked pretty straight forward, yet we didnt go upstairs for that one.
again, the next VAR tweek HAS to include not being sucked in by the players reaction. otherwise it will turn into NRL where players stay down til the video ref gets involved.

Aaahhhh the good old Sydney win/draw double chance bet in Newcastle.
God it’s made me some cash over the years.
Carney a lock to score too, and I’m legit thinking of betting on someone to get a red.
so anyway lets just say that a fair chunk of cash changed hands, but everyone walked away pretty even.

Loved Georgevski spraying Bujis right near the final whistle while he was laying on the turf and then giving the big ones to the Sydney fans. Bloke is such a competitor, just loves it!
Amazing night, are we actually going to win this Comp? It’s starting to look more and more real!

anywell.
geez i thought Brown was good in the first half. was a pretty perfect situation for him to be in.
was surprised Ernie changed things around.
again, he got it to work. thats why he has the best lanyard.
You are right. Brown was very good. I think he made way for Kanta as Kanta has more mongrel in tackles.

I’m just glad “winning it” is something we can even contemplate.
Regardless of what happens over the rest of this season (except for a win against sCCuM), it’s just been great to have an entertaining and competitive team that can win games to support again. Long may it continue.
Could we crack 20K?

Not gonna defend the heinous crap that spouts from the member but that one was a bit of an overreaction from the mods.
Was a great game tho, and I agree with the difficulty leaving. I had no idea the show was on until after the game. Found out the hard way.

Anyone watching at home:
Was there much kerfuffle over the Ninkovic tackle on Boogaard.
Because from where I was sitting it looked particularly nasty.

it looked bad in real time, replays weren't as bad, it was his rear foot that collected him, no studs or anything. rightly so, boogs got a bit shirty about it.

Just said fair yellow move on.
The interesting one would have been the forearm from Buijs to Nabbout. Had he gone down like a squealing pig things could have been different.

Stat attack...we have scored 30% of the goals Sydney have conceded this season.
Also, top four is 99% guaranteed. Adelaide or Wanderers have to win all their games and us lose them all to catch us.

one thing i noticed in the 2nd half (had a better view) was that as Sydney were working it from side to side in the backs to tire out Nabbout and Petratos, when the ball eventually fell to that Buijs dude, they stopped closing.
it was almost as if if Merrick had told them to let Buijs be the one to start the attack, and even when he broke the first line the blokes marking Ninkovic and Polish dude didnt leave their man.
they let him walk right through, but made him make a decision without having anyone open. and because he is actually a pretty terrible footballer, he cocked it up, the Jets turned him around and went on the counter.
It was a very New England Patriots type coaching move.
it was great discipline from the Jets.

I noticed that before. Respect to O'Neill to be fair. It actually looks like he thinks it's a harsh call. It's only ****s like Brosque who would actively encourage the ref to send him off no matter how much Buijs hammed it up.

Arnie: "I think that was the worst thing that happened to us, Roy being sent off and them going down to 10 men."
What a load of rubbish... it was a massive advantage and he knows. I think he's clever enough to realise the real reason they lost.
But I secretly hope he's genuinely convinced that everything depends on his team's behavior on the day: he could be in for some nice surprises.
Either way, they must be scared as hell now...

Now, I'm no lip reader of the calibre that deaf bloke Cleaver Greeen (aka Rake) hires to lip read
the defence and the members of jury BUT it's pretty clear to me...
Bulbus 0'36":- "Hey...hey...what did he say, what did you say mother f***er?
Arnie 0'46":- "VAR.... f*** me...." :rof:
Wonder if it's on the chopping block if Arnie thinks it's a joke?
Edit:- Bulbus:- images compare with this f**ks head...and his sh!t haircut!
How is it blokes like Brosque are not cited over his " not going to be the grand final referee " comments. If a coach made those statements in an interview his club would get a show cause.
Who the hell is running this league Townsend or Lowy Jnr and Gallop for christ sake ?.

Ref comments...compared it to Ernie and Kurtz fines.
Tis rather ironic that earlier this season after the Bobo leg raking incident and people were calling double standards in the way Sydney FC games were being officiated Bozza told those with such perception to go get there head read.
Some twenty weeks later and incident after incident of obvious turning a blind eye by both the administrators and on field officials Bozza has done a about face and seen what the rest of us have been seeing all season long.
You would think at a time when the FFA is bleeding paying fans around the country they would do there level best to address this situation but nope once again Lowy and Gallop go MIA and the game continues to suffer for there incompetence.
These two will leave this game in such a state its become a valid question of if it can survive there tenure ?.
