Secondly, all that gyrating and sexy dancing will have awoken something in him I bet. 100% chance of a Clean sheet from him this weekend, he will be keen to get a firm grip on those balls for the next week or so.

After listening to the Merrick press conference I thought he was going to make quie a few changes for this game. I was thinking at least Cowburn, Vargas (due to injury), Vujica and possibly McGree would be looking over their shoulder.

But as the week has gone on, is anyone else sensing there will be just 2 changes - Pato for Vargas due to injury and Gorgeous George for Vujica due to return from suspension?

If so, I'm concerned. We still lack pace. Personally I'd be throwing someone quick like Champness up against Rose to tear him a new one in his last game.

Anyone agree?

I'm concerned if he plays Cowburn again in the middle. He may think he's a mid but at this level I believe he's a backup RB at best.

I think he's a right back as well. Hoff thought he was a striker, always played striker in his youth. Where is he getting a run now?

I share your concerns.

I'm thinking we'd be best keeping Vujica at left back, moving george to right back, putting Mcgree in the mids and putting either Hoff or Champness on the wing where Mcgree usually is. Bring Pato on for Vargas, either on the wing or at Cam

This may be an unpopular view, but does anyone else think we didn't play that well last night? Letting in those two goals, for starters. And the Mariners defence was truly awful.

We play an open attack minded style of football so we are always going to be susceptible to the odd goal.
But we also give ourselves plenty of opportunities to score goals as well.
The jets have had two great seasons - Season 2 and the current season.
I'd like to win the grand final but if we don't it doesn't worry me - as long as we keep playing exciting football.
The teams record this year speaks for itself - to beat us you need to score two goals or more - that's pressure on the opposition - not us.

I felt sorry for BK last night, he’s a top bloke and it was a shame to see him essentially get embarrassed last night.

Johnny K coming into the team made an instant change, he’s an quality young footballer and should’ve been getting a look in over cowburn the past two games. No Vargas also allowed us to be more mobile, and Pato lately has been doing more running then he was at the start of his run with us. Ending this season I’d be happier keeping Pato over Vargas

I'd say Vargas is finished as a marquee player - he's just not suitable to our style of game until the fitness / speed comes back.

Reading the derby thread on their foz is a literal timeline of the 7 stages of grief. It's also a mirror of what we experienced since season 4, so it's pretty easy to see that unless their ownership changes hands or Charlesworth finds money down the back of the sofa they are headed for more of the same regardless of who's appointed as coach.

I read it too hoping for some gems but they were too realistic. There was a serious post about checking BK’s betting accounts because he’d obviously thrown the game, but even then the other posters sensibly decided most goals weren’t on him at all. Wasn’t much fun at all.

fairly sure the RBB foz would provide what you're after right now.
