TALKING POINTS:

Players

Bruno Fornaroli has scored in 8 consecutive competitive appearances (7 A-League and 1 FFA Cup) against the Jets. A goal this weekend will break the Australian Football record for goals in consecutive mathes against one opponent, currently held by Joel Griffiths who scored 8 against the Roar.
Jason Hoffman has scored in his last 2 appearances against City.
Eugene Galekovic has conceded 10 goals in 17 matches between the sticks when playing at home against the travelling Jets. He kept 9 clean sheets in these 17 appearances.

Newcastle Jets

Newcastle have kept 3 clean sheets in their last 30 away matches.
The Jets have scored in 16 consecutive away fixtures in the A-League.
Jason Hoffman scored his 10th A-League goal for the Jets last weekend.
The Jets lost their only Sunday away fixture played so far this season - the 2-1 loss to Wellington.

Melbourne City

City have scored in 13 consecutive matches against the Jets

How about we just instruct Kanta or Boogaard to kick 7 shades of shit out of him so he is subbed off ??

If we play with 10 so be it

We have done so every week this season with Jair on the park anyway

I reckon Muscat would already be calling him about a move to Victory.
Although I thought he was Sydney bound at one stage - maybe that's back on ?

Regardless of any move he'd have to wait until January for the window to open

I'm trying the think about Sydney's visa spot situation - Le Fondre, De Jong, van der Dive-in, Ninkovic. Depending on the De Jong injury they could look at an injury replacement?

Victory have Honda, Neidermeier, Baena, Toivonen, Barbarouses, Storm Roux (either or both of the last 2 are now Australian citizens because that's 6)

For both these teams appropriate money-based spots could be the issue. The cynic and realist in me says the FFA would find a way to assist.

There are rumours Riera is being chased by a Spanish club. That could present an out.

If he were to leave, I reckon he'd head back overseas.

But it also says a lot about our recruitment

We have 1 fullback in Georgevski whom is not a great attacker
We have no wingers

So the entire squad has no width

We have 1 striker whom is an NPL developing player
So we have no attacking threat up top

We have 400 CMs

Squad is massively inbalanced

I don’t know how I feel about Roy coming back. If we start winning again, I’ll go back to being annoyed that his brain explosion cost us what 8 games without a striker and Ernie is making us suffer through Roy’s sins by playing Hoffman as striker.
A good indication of Ernie’s plan will be when Roy returns. Do we play him out wide to accomodate Hoff at striker?

Exactly this..
When we had an attacking front third (Roy, Nabbout, Champness, etc) it puts pressure on their defence and they can't go bombing forward like teams have been. We are toothless and laughable up front at the moment..

- There is so much hate in here for Jackson. Yeah, he didn't have the best game, but I think Georgievski has been even worse all season and doesn't get anywhere near the abuse..
- Agree with all the comments on Ernie's selections. Wtf is going on here.
- How many times have we "cleared" the ball straight to the edge of the D. Basically saying "Didn't score? Here, have another go"..
