I hate to be writing this but... drop Dimi.
He's slowing down the attack to the point where his stats are quite useless: his shots are blocked because the opposition has all the time to put 3/4 men in front of him, and his "passes into the box" don't work for the same reason.
I don't know if it's his fault or if he's not getting adequate support... but it's not working.
Not sure about Ridenton but Victory's 2nd goal is partially on him for not clearing (Ernie was pretty clear about this...)
Also, I'd drop Johnny K and bring back Vujica

I'd like to see Cowburn into the team. I noticed on the weekend, of the two screeners, Stevie U-G took the "Kanta" role of screening the back 4 while Ridenton took the more advanced role supplying the attacking 4.
I would prefer Stevie U-G back into that more advanced role and I don't trust Ridenton to do this as much - I think Cowburn can do this role.
I would bring in Vujica for suspended DG and drop Jair for the returning Ronny. I think Ivan's attitude will help him - by all accounts in the youth games he's taking it seriously as one of the senior pros. However, my guess is Jackson goes back to FB.
I also anticipate Champness off the bench, not start.
Sheppard is also worthy of a start with his recent performances. He might not last the distance, but he's playing well.

wait, what?
He has been a machine since he came back (apart from the last 10 mins v Roar where the coach should have hooked him).
He is the least of our problems ATM.
I'd be fine with Shep starting over Jair.

Look, I agree he has played generally well, but he was heavily involved in both of Roar's goals, and nowhere to be seen when Troisi received the ball last Saturday: Thurgate tried desperately, but where was the RB? Now, I'm not sure what the duties are in a chaotic situation like that, and the responsibilities are also shared with Ridenton (clear the ball FFS!) and Italiano, but my feeling is he wasn't where he was supposed to be.
IMO he's not reliable as a full back, he could do much better in midfield. Maybe try him instead of Ridenton.

The investigation would probably somehow find that Sydney and victory deserves more free-kicks, penalties etc. That's how investigations into corruption in football generally work.
Seriously though, Wilson needs to hang and a 3 man board needs to be in control of the refs, 1 former coach, 1 former ref and 1 former player

We are officially not going to make the finals. That leaves 13 boring matches + 1, maybe 2 acl matches.
This team has serious problems which, not surprisingly, were not magically fixed by Roy's return. The mantra "if we keep playing like this, results will come" doesn't make sense. We play good football, but if we keep playing like this, the results aren't going to be much different. Nothing changes if nothing changes.
Not saying fold the club... bring on 2019/2020. Not feeling very optimistic i know.

That is very good point re the judging panel for referees performances. There seems from the outside looking in Wilson goes into a default self preservation mode by way of if he can convince the supporters his charges are having good games by extension he is doing a good job and on the flip side to come out and say they had a shocker would be an admission he is not on top of things.
Game is in a lot of strife if the FFA can't or refuse to admit and deal with this shite officiating.

Apparently, you're going to get paid good enough, regardless of your abilities. ;)
Man, we're not talking mistakes here: we're talking
- no red cards for opposition teams,
- easy red cards to jets players,
- 0 (zero) penalties in 14 games, no Var used for the jets
- a player suspended for 9 games, when similar cases around the world end with very different outcomes.
Don't get me wrong we're shooting ourselves in the foot by consistently missing scoring chances: but there is something wrong with match officials, it's widely recognised, and it's not a matter of incompetence.

Yep....and who was that 4th official?
Kurt Ams no less.
I hear that Brosque demanded Hoff be sent too.
Does and i mean this as a legit question as i truly have no idea on this. Does the MRP have the authority when viewing an incident like the Hoffs also able to recommend disciplinary action against another player not mentioned in a match report.
For the life of me no normal person (s) who claims to have reviewed the incident like a competent MRP would and miss O'Neill's stomp is nothing short of ludicrous.
One of three things have happened here.
1 They can't literally involve themselves because of no referral to review it ?
2 They believe only Hoff was guilty which is a concern because these blokes get the opportunity to review it over and over and have still missed the obvious. This would suggest they are from an ability perspective unable to carry out there duties competently as a MRP ?
3 Or they did not miss O'Neills actions are able to action his offence but have chosen not too because it was Sydney FC which would be also concerning and meaning the MRP is incapable of performing its role properly or fairly ?

but refs havent really cost us any more this year than our own stupidity already had.
i mean, Hoff did kick out. Sure, argue degrees of damage all you want, but the act does warrant a red.
Vargas' did actually 'deserve' 2 yellows. Sure the refs explanation was crap, but every day of the week he can be assessed two cards.
and lets be fair, the mood he was in he was def getting a 2nd one that day for sure.
Boogs (even though hes a great bloke) def gave away a pen in the last minute against Adelaide.
Johnny K lost his man for the equalizer vs Roar. Blame the coach for not seeing that.
We've copped some 'rough' decisions, but 'wrong'? im not so sure. certainly not enough to have us any closer to the semis.

I think you'll find they're just drumming up drama to get Jets (and other Aleague) management to speak out to the FFA (much like Fox commentators have) and get them to take action. Like they did with the excessive use of the VAR in the earlier rounds. Which has been reduced, but is still shit and inconsistent, but far better than it ever has been since the piece of crap was introduced.

Yep this. Just club CEO's drumming up support and trying to increase the spotlight on those gooses at FFA HQ. Nonetheless the game has and will remain stalled whilst Gallop hangs around. Surely the next departure from the FFA payroll needs to be Gallop ?.

but refs havent really cost us any more this year than our own stupidity already had.
i mean, Hoff did kick out.
We've copped some 'rough' decisions, but 'wrong'? im not so sure. certainly not enough to have us any closer to the semis.
not sure how many points we've lost from bad refs decisions this year.
Soft red for Vargas, unintentional handball in the box. Hoffman rolled over, he didn't kick out. Even o'neill said he didn't notice.
Roar should have had a man sent off in the first half, the list could go on, so many "little" things... like the 2 penalties on NTS where var didn't even investigate.
No one ever blamed boogs penalty on the ref, or Jk mistakes, or all the chances we've missed. We wouldn't be in a much better position, I agree. Still, it infuriates me.
All I can boycott is the myfootball app subscription, not going to renew it this season. They can do without my 15$ :D

Lawrie McKinna is not your friend.
He doesnt really care about you.
That 'open letter to Members' thing today was some A-grade bullshit.
Where did this 'talk of a boycott' come from? His mate Milko?
Utter tripe, hes an attention seeker who loves telling you how hard hes working.
The “Newcastle Jets Supporters” Facebook page was trying to drum up support for a protest, eiher by Boycotting the derby or by staging a mass walk out.
Post was on Saturday at 8:53pm (to help anyone find it that may want to lose 15mins and a heap of brain cells).

If Facebook was any indicator of true community sentiment then Hillary would be President.

Am I right in thinking that that group is run by a bunch of 15 year olds?

I don't follow either because their responses and reactions was too much for me.

If Vargas gets his second yellow for the blow up Matt Simon and brosque should miss every second week through suspension...it was a ****ing joke....the game the other night between the scum and roar Simon hacked down their fullback, gave away a free kick then turned around and screamed at the ref who was 20M away...he should have carded him on the spot.
As far as hoff goes it was dumb but what the **** is O’Neil doing stepping back over him in the first place?
Brisbane game, sure Johnny lost his man but roar should have been down to 10 much earlier in the match than that.
We seem to be picking up yellows for nothing, like the one Boogaard got a couple of weeks ago from a fair tackle, while the opposition seem to get away with a hackfest. I’m sure plenty of jets cards have been missed but when it is appears that it is becoming the norm rather than the exception questions need to be asked.
Whole problem is, and it goes for any sport, there is no accountability on the refs. They don’t have to front press conferences or field questions on how they came to a decision. They just have a mouthpiece that says all’s good....

Is it a school night? Maybe they aren’t allowed to go so are calling it a “boycott”

Yep and incompetent mouthpiece at that. F&*k off Ben Wilson you have been in your position for far too long and week after week you laughably defend abysmally performing referees who officiate without a worry in the world because you will come out and defend there useless asses.
Sorry Wilson but you really hit an all time new low with your suggestion that hacker O'Neill accidentally trod on Hoff. You are a joke Ben Wilson and if the FFA had a CEO with any ability you would have been let go sometime ago.
