Well we've lost the Wellington game to Sydney for some reason. Only one home game now.
Yep only the gooses running the game could come up with such a stupid brainless idea as to shift a Newcastle home game to Sydney to play Wello where neither team will draw a crowd.
Finances are not the only thing light on at FFA HQ, clearly brains and common sense is in short supply

Last game - "if" we were to win the first three it could mean that being a must win to get in the six, ensuring a "capacity" crowd.
Have we been given a reason yet?
Not that i am aware of JM. I don't do the facebook twitter thing but perhaps somebody who does can ask the Gypo CEO what logic FFA used to play a game at a neutral venue when there are no restrictions in place to play the game at one of the competing teams home ground.

Why five substitutes? The A-League it's necessary because the players are involved in so many games so quickly. But the schedule is hardly packed.
Five substitutes is not football; it's a new ball sport.

Legit question. Just what protocols do you think the FFA have taken into account to stop a team traveling to Newcastle from Sydney. Anybody who believes the BS from FFA is a goose.
To the best of my knowledge there are no restrictions between Sydney and Newcastle. The decision was garbage from people who are meant to have the games best interest at the forefront. At a time when the sport is on its knees it should have and could have been played up here.
Whilst ever this game is steered by dickheads at FFA HQ football has no hope in this country.

Thats just what we were told, Ive got no idea the inner workings of these things.
Nah i get that. But what we have been told is not even remotely close to any truth.
There are no circumstances that currently exist imposed by the state government in regards to covid protocols that makes it ok for one game to be played here and not the other.
The FFA need to be called out for it by supporters also. Once again O Rourke and co have demonstrated how from day one they have been getting schooled by Gill McLachlan and Pete V Landy's. Those two real sports administrators would do whatever it takes to play a match in front of as many people as possible while our administrative numpties move a perfectly playable game to a venue where no home crowd will exist.
Gooses should be ashamed to put there hand out for a wage.

Watched Perf vs Gypos. Gypos were terrible for 70 mins but did ok last 20 mins.
The ref though did the coast no favours. Perth got away with a lot of fouls and holding on and off the ball. Gypos basically gave away a free kick for the same tackles / efforts.
If we can't beat them on friday then they need to fold the club.

They certainly were looking for literally any excuse as to why Redmayne just watched it go by as it brushed his laces.
I have usually been fairly critical of Thurgate but that was the best game I have seen him play for us.
The contributions Fitz has been bringing the last few games are exactly what I thought he would bring to us, and I am excited for the guy.
Worth noting Fitz cops a lot for the mistakes and wasteful chances he does, yet we all (inc commentators) seem happy to let Bernie Ibini be just as if not more wasteful yet excuse him. I am incredibly critical of Ibini, I find it inexcusable that he won't last more than 70 minutes (I strongly believe even if we weren't playing Friday he would have been subbed off) and really, the dude just does a whole lot of Mitch Austin style running in a straight line to either sky-high some stupid decision or just run it over a line. His one good contribution for every 20 mistakes aren't worth it in my eyes, and I would be stoked to use the money for him elsewhere if we are considering retaining him (as we know he doesn't come cheap).
I am realy liking the increased confidence our backline and Stevie are playing with under Carl. We'll make some mistakes along the way, seemingly all from JohnnyK  but it is a very positive and forward thinking vibe that is currently paying off and is more exciting than most of the season prior.

I imagine his commentary team colleague would have taken a different view. Probably one along the lines of "It's un-Australian. Sydney don't deserve to be treated like this and the FFA should come down hard on the Jets for the disgraceful act of not worshipping the ground Sydney play on".

84.6% pass accuracy for the Jets with 15 shots, six of which were on target.
Sydney with only one shot on target were never really in the game and were probably flattered by the final score.
In saying that, we've lost on the back of those types of impressive stats before - but I think defensively under Carl we are a completely different team.
