Good chance this might be postponed as well. or maybe played without fans.

Big questions - will we have a new owner? Will we have enough players? Will this match decide the wooden spoon?

No, Yes & it will definitely contribute.

I think we're forgetting that the coasties squad is arguably in worse shape than ours.

We will win this match *and* the spoon. We will not have a new owner.

We will lose
No owner.
We can't win the wooden spoon because we will be kicked out of the league mid season due to going into liquidation.

A creditor calling in the debt would be the best thing to happen to the club at the moment.

We don't look super, but we at least look like a team of professional footballers. Which is more than can be said for the Gypos.

We do however look a bit slow and unfit. Definitely hasn't been a terrific pre season for us.

Yeah, kind of knew that was going to happen.

At least the Mariners look like absolute hot garbage. They will be relying on teams gifting them goals like that all season I reckon.

Clubs already running back to the FFA asking them to take the comp back after watching this shit.

All these players are trash. Poor uga looks like he retired last week. Keeper already blaming the dwarf that didn't jump. **** yeah the a-league is back baby.

So Bozanic gets away with a red card. Kosta gets away with a hand ball. And now Simon gets away with a hand ball.

VAR doing about as well as I expected.

We look a lot less like professional footballers now.

The only thing less professional than the players is the referee and the fox commentary.

The commentary is fine

We never get anything under Stephen Lucas

FFA are to blame for this shitfest.
If they acted when Martin Lee stopped financing the club 18 months ago we might have a competitive side.

I mean this honestly. I don't think I've ever witnessed a worse game of professional football in my life.

It looked a bunch of kids playing with about 6 professional players in some pre season sponsored promotion game. Like the A League No Stars or something?

Imo, I think that is gonna be a league wide issue. We are pretty used to the same players being recycled over and over, and as such become familiar with them. The usual suspects are starting to retire. Looking at team sheets from the weekend, it’s clear that each club has a lot of new faces and new player that are reasonably unknowns.

Last night was a final spasm of 2020. We can now leave that shit to history and move on to the glory of 2021.

Happy new year, losers.

Referee was an absolute disgrace and should never work in the A league ever again. In saying that the Jets were absolute shit, coach included.

I thought we were decent on the ball and handled the Mariners with ease for most of the game. One pathetic mistake from our defence and our lack of desire and speed to win the ball back was the part that dissapointed me and cost us

i thought we weren't as bad as i was fearing we would be.

we were certainly rusty, and i know we were only playing the team we'll be battling for the wooden spoon, but their goal came from a miscommunication which i would expect will improve with time, and we had for the most part the better chances.

abbas added a lot when he came on but faded very quickly. our fullbacks looked like midgets and will be a problem for us throughout the season i think. najjarine was pretty good, particularly later in the game, but his defence was pretty woeful on a few occasions.

does anybody know what o'donovan got carded for? he barely even touched stensness. and what the hell was topor going ballistic about not long before half time? thought the refereeing was incredibly inconsistent - how the hell did bozanic not get a red for that challenge on hoffman? didn't even get a yellow and then later on in the game the ref was handed them out for far less dangerous challenges. hopefully the brave new world will bring in some fulltime referees.

In addition, a person described as a DOF and OM is rarely mentioned on here at all. So what the hell does he do and what is he doing.Unpopular question that the nerds don't confront because they are nerds.

Have we confirmed oToole? got a call from the keeper? Watching it, keeper looks so far back and should be able to see and smell the stench of a coastie coming towards him, if he calls keeper then that’s a big blunder for mine. And old mate should’ve just headed it and not pulled out. Anyway

I think Odonovan “punches” the guy in the back as he challenges. That’s what I saw anyway. It looks like he swings a fist into his back. I think stajic was questioning why it wasn’t VARed and red card.

Thought najjarine looked pretty dangerous in comparison. Watched him play for Olyroos against Sydney or MacArthur and thought he looked good in attack.
