Last game of the season, excluding the FFA Cup qualifier playoff. Last A-league game with Deans in charge, too.

If we avoid losing, we avoid spooning.

Curious if they use it as a game to keep players sharp or if they dgaf and play their youth team and keep their good players in melb.

City could play their youth team, media team or groundskeeping team and we'd still lose

I think we've got more out than in.

What a celebration this will be.

At least we have something still to play for. With the energy the youth are bringing, potentially being the last match for a few of our players before the retire, Deans' last match and the chance to not end with the spoon - plenty of motivation.

Will make it harder to explain the poor performance then...

Nah, I do hope they are up for this. If they aren't, there's some mighty fine doors they can walk out after the game.

Tough decisions for city. If they win they gain some momentum for the finals.
If they lose or draw they get to see Victory fans go off the rails.

Carl probs already been on the phone to Lederer seeking to have Archie run around for the Red & Black next season. Lederer too come out and say he had nothing to do with it.

For all the shit Kosta gets, jeez he tracks back well on the counter. He swallows up midfielders who are about to cause us trouble very well.

He has saved us a few times throughout he season too with quality tracking and it's a quality that's hard to teach young forwards.

I do not believe this

I said he was worthy of a new deal. If he's just put the finishing touches on Victory's first ever Spoon, then he definitely deserves another year.

Wow, did not think that would happen.

Mauragis had a great game. That backheel to tee up Goodwin was super sexy and deserves some love. And for that cross for stamatopolpous. MOTM in my opinion.

Enjoy the spoon "victory"

Top effort.
To peg back City after being a goal down is a massive effort.
Two quality goals as well.

Haha, I honestly enjoyed this season way more than I should have. I loved so much of this season. Especially those hipster wankers getting their first spoon! Hopefully the first of many.

Shows what he can do with decent service. Hes got 3 or 4 goals since joining. He’s worth a new deal

Remember that time Victory won the spoon behind a club that basically folded in pre season and didn't win a game for almost 3 months or something?? LMAO.

Honestly, Victory deserved that spoon so much more than us.

Agree.

Great goal for Goodwin. Should do him a world of good going into next season. I hope he can continue that trajectory or at least get some consistency.
Mouragis has been great too.
Think our midfield has been the difference imo. Everyone knows their role and does it. Don’t have to carry a Najjarine or have Thurgate/Uga and Prso doing the same thing and nothing either which helps.

That Goodwin goal reminded me so much of Griff's grand final goal. Give him the keys to the city

Could be wrong here. But O'Doherty seems to be a great signing. Very simple and hard working. If we do get Devlin next season, I'm comfortable that our midfield can compete with anyone.
