Would anyone else like to place a guess on how long AFTER Northern opening the new facility and running 5 A Side comps that Lake Mac will find itself in financial trouble?

With Eland having said previously the 5 A Side is hopeful of being profitable to the point of making the facility self funding I'd expect we will see even higher turnover of players out there over the coming few years. Lake Mac definately needed to get on the front foot and secure new players but how long can it last.

Please give me what your on ?????

Who is Bren Hammel?

Troy Halpin to Jaffas? Wasnt this rumour going on here last year? Cant see any truth in this one again. Where are your rumours from?

Clearly you don't live up to your name "Old Wise Man". I spoke with the aforementioned over the weekend who informed me he was in talks with hamilton and very close to reaching an agreement. And as for the Halpin rumour that came from a person within the jaffas club whom i not prepared to mention on a public forum.

Is this only the19s NEWFM thread?

If not, why is there no talk of 1st grade teams???

I thought there would be some discussion for prmotion this year?

Adamston, Maitland being the favourites
With Belswans being the dark horses?

I heard Adamstown lost nearly all of their 23s players because of the 1st grade coach and the way he treated the 23s players, so depth could be a problem there?

Maitland are always strong in their 23s.

Belswans 23s made the semis this year but got trounced by the Lambton powerhouse side, so an influx into 1st grade could give them the depth they need also?

I thnk it will be a most interesting year and probably the most open race since they reopened the doors of promotion a few years back

First post under my new name for the season ;-)

Adamstown have only lost 2 players that they wanted to keep throughout all 3 grades - John Dixon 23s to Jaffas and the young kid Turnbull (handy player) from the 19s who has followed his dad to the Jaffas.

All the other players from 19s , 23s & 1st grade that the coaches wanted to keep have stayed and anyone else that has left was surplus to requirements.

maitland will be very strong in all 3 grades this year I think and nobody really knows yet how westy will handle the drop !!

Thanks for the updates on Adamstown Chappy, good luck to you and Adamstown next year, if you have kept all your players you will be sure favourites to go one step better and gain promotion next year.
Strong side this year, will only be better next year.

Maitland are always strong also

Yeah unfortunately we couldnt carry the 23s squad because of the reduction in overage players. Our 1st grade and 23s coach use to coach at Mayfield so they sent the players there so they could still play together.

In 1st grade we have kept the whole squad, only doubt is over Mason Palmieri who was on the bench n our GF, he has commitment and motivation issues. Dont think he is really interested in playing anymore.

The only 1st grader from this year who hasnt been at our sessions.

Hard to know how we are going to go in our first year, but we are setting our goals for mid table and try and build each year after that.
Not sure how our side from this year will compete in the level above so it is hard to tell.
Although reading that article from the herald was right, we had 8 players from our squad this year who have played nbn league in a first grade team, so hopefully mid table should be achievable for us, or maybe we can aim a bit higher now we have Maj and Wheelhouse.
Who knows, hard to tell.

I think you guys will be a real surprise package this year and I predict a TOP 4 finish. Kept a very good team together from last year and look like adding some real quality as well , hard to beat and the excitement and drive you guys will have for playing in the top division.

I think Adamstown Rosebuds may be playing the Central Coast Mariners pre-season again. I know they played them a few months ago.

Adamstowns Scottish 23s coach has the connection and they went down to play them a few months back ... think they only lost 2-0.

Why did nobody get promotion from ZPL this year ?

Yeah it would be great for what ever team gets him if he decides to play on. Which I hope he does. personally I think he will be a big draw card to were ever he goes and from a club point of view could u imagine the extra people who come and spend money at the canteen just because they came to see him play. have been told the only experienced first grader valentine have is chris brown (former stags/edgy player). from all reports the rest are young/untested/not very high profile. it's a shame - if tappy was to walk into a solid-built club with a pretty decent squad to handle, rather than basically re-building every year like he's had to do in his nbn first grade reign so far, i think he could do really well.

Why you reckon he is having 'to re-build' every year?

my son trailed at valo last year , showed up to all training seasons and trail games and was doing really well ( goal keeper ) after the second trail he was told that he was all but in the 23s BUT valo was waiting to hear form there goal keeper form the previous year. apparently at the time they couldnt even get hold of this guy.
this was valo choice not tappys from what i am led to believe. then he was asked to show up for a third trail just incase the keeper from last year didnt show up. my son said good luck and that was the last time he had anything to do with valo.

have been told the only experienced first grader valentine have is chris brown (former stags/edgy player). from all reports the rest are young/untested/not very high profile. it's a shame - if tappy was to walk into a solid-built club with a pretty decent squad to handle, rather than basically re-building every year like he's had to do in his nbn first grade reign so far, i think he could do really well.

Has been shopping on the central coast apparantly

Well i have heard that they kept most of the guys playing 1st grade last year and have added some central coast boys. Its all the younger 23's and 19's that have left and some quality players to boot. Not sure where they have all gone but some to Lambton and Lakes.

my son trailed at valo last year , showed up to all training seasons and trail games and was doing really well ( goal keeper ) after the second trail he was told that he was all but in the 23s BUT valo was waiting to hear form there goal keeper form the previous year. apparently at the time they couldnt even get hold of this guy.
this was valo choice not tappys from what i am led to believe. then he was asked to show up for a third trail just incase the keeper from last year didnt show up. my son said good luck and that was the last time he had anything to do with valo.
Where did ya son go shark.
Also one guy who left that i know said that Tappy was not the reason, more the club and the people running it.

he went back and played with the terrace , with the time he spent at valo didnt leave him much time to go trial at any other big club.

What a day for the football community. Record crowd, massive media interest, local that is, and deserving grand final winners... Unfortunately there were a couple sore losers on the day, in particular a bloke who seen red!

$20.000

They deserve that too, they have put the equivalent of millions into the facility out of their own pockets and time and labour, and some petty people want to harp on that they make an unconfirmed $20k at the grand final... Oh and it always slips the mind when other great venues like Edgy, Darling St, Adamstown, etc, get to host plenty of semis, Gfs, and other matches.

Record crowd? what place have you been hidding in? maybe the biggest for the past 5 or 7 years but nothing compared to the old days at Lakes when people would line up 2 hours before gates opened in the late 80's early 90's.

I thought it was a great day for football the last GF but lets not be wankers and post bullshit!

So were the games of the coalfields at the turn of the century, and the internationals at the SCG. And how massive was KB but it all went to shit. My reference was to the modern times so it was not bullshit at all thanks. A good point has been raised though, they were indeed great times but I don't think the crowds were extraordinary, but any money made by the Federation, and the home ground, were never wisely invested, or put another way in the good times they blew the cash.

I know wahlstedt was playing first grade towards the end of the year . Ansell was a fringe player im pre sure. Both have only really turned 18 , most likely playing for the 23s at southy. The rest of players that left phoenix im not too sure.

What's the rule with changing clubs? Always thought once you move clubs once your stuck there

The Magician
30-04-2013, 09:49 AM
last time i saw the competition rule you can move between clubs up to the 30th June, maximum of 3 clubs before the closing date. Players are signed on amateur agreements clubs can not hold players back from moving even if they owe monies, it becomes a civil matter not for NNSWF.

wannabe
30-04-2013, 10:03 AM

In 2012 the Federation made an exemption to this rule to allow Brady Parker to leave Lakes and play for Warners Bay. He had registered and played one game with a club in Coffs Harbour before leaving them and playing half a season with Lakes. At that time he wanted to go to Warners Bay, and the Federation decided to bend the rules as he had only played one game in the North Coast comp.

During this period, the Player is only eligible to play in Matches for two Clubs in each form of the game
