Minmi's coach had one year at Cardiff, he came from Minmi originally.
Minmi will go alright this year, have rebuilt well.

Lambton Juniors 5- Merewether united 1

I have seen Lambton Juniors play 4 times in the last 2 years, but today was the best I've seen them play. For a pre season game they were extremely sharp with some new additions to there squad. For Merewether we cop that on the chin and move on, I think you learn more from your loses then wins. Some important players to come back in will certainly help, But Lambton showed they will be a force in zl2

First Grade was also won by Hamilton, apart from a poor back pass in the first half and a goalkeeper error, Minmi I think were quite strong and probably should have won. Minmi looking like getting there club back on track with some great additions.

I think it?s more to do with how stinky mayfield are but bolwarra are a very good side

Not change in players, in fact you?d say on paper they?ve gone backwards but new coach has worked well with improving their structure. Their preseason results looked solid so never expected them to be in any relegation battle BUT mayfield surely are favourites for the spoon.

Not sure that the culture at southern is much better. I?ve heard they had 2 on the bench for ressies but still played with 10 men and didn?t use the sub when they had injury and went down to 9.. have to wonder why the subs were there in the first place! Lots of bickering amongst eachother in the first grade side too. I think they?ll win but not sure it?ll blowout massively. Match of the catchup round for me

Finished bottom last year and struggled to get players this year so were never a chance of bettering their 18-56 goal difference from last year. Go down and enjoy the year.

I think your right, will tell us exactly if the bushrangers are as good as the mail is saying. The Bay got done by Mayf in Aus cup and round 1 didn?t dominate until the final 10 minutes.

Went down and watched First Grade Minmi vs Southern Utd yesterday. Minmi very solid throughout the 90. A handful of great saves by both goalkeepers kept the game close. The top three are a league above the rest, especially Crabs and Norths. Did not expect Norths to push Crabs this far in the season but it makes for some entertaining stakes. Cooks Hill have been too inconsistent but on paper are definitely up there.

The development of Croudace Bay will be very interesting to see next year as they've got the building blocks for a proper club - a lot of young families flock around for their matchdays, I wonder if it's in there plans to introduce MiniRoos/Womens/Interdistrict youth next season?

4th-8th at the moment are split by 4 points, an absolute cooked situation to predict:

Southern have been so unfortunate with washouts, but the commitment to the midweek catch up games and to pull results from these is a testament to the players. A finals spot is deserved.

Jaffas are arguably the more well-rounded team and should take 5th. Nelson Bay and Bolwarra will push hard and miss out by a smidge.

Minmi have pulled some great results recently, but there defence is a huge worry. Will finish a comfortable 8th but will have to fight off Merewether and South Maitland, both on their day can pull a result (Merewether 6-1 Minmi, South Maitland 3-0 Bolwarra) just are very inconsistent.

New Lambton dropped points to Mayfield, says it all for their season really. Mayfield cannot be serious, on track to almost hit -100 goal difference by the end of the season. The fact Mayfield Jrs pay players a win bonus is laughable.

I can obviously see how the crabs were able to hijack the deal, a very attractive project they are building over there. I can?t help but think with recent run of results Minmi have been stringing together as of late this might cost them a grand final win. A very smart play from Croudace bay

You'll find Merewether have great depth. They don't "stack" conference with first graders. Historically Merewether have always had a finals contending conference league. This season in particular they've recruited a lot from their high grading AA/35s to fill out 3rds.

With talk of finals. What do you think, should they be played at a ZL2 ground, keeping the money in ZL2 or will they be playing at a NPL ground, better playing surface but profits going into player payments or at LMRFF with all the profits going into NNSW bank account.

Great perspective, and Suns hosting the Grand Finals last year proved that it is definitely possible for ZL clubs to host and keep the revenue in ZL. I don't reckon there's any ZL2 club that has the ability to host a GF day though. I'd be happy to see Suns host it again this year

Na mate not whinging just trying to start a conversation. Last time I spoke to someone from my club about finals they had put in for they Could be kids, all age I don?t know. They have hosted in the past and will in the future.

Southern beating Norths makes this competition a bit of a good watch running into finals.

Not sure anyone can take on Crabs but who they verse in the grand final is very open.

I think of teams that could disrupt a Crabs grand final win, Southern I think have most potential.

Bolwarra are also very well coached in how they defend. I could see them going 0-0 with Crabs to a shootout.

Cooks Hill as a club would most definitely put a spectacle on for ZL2, at least one would think. Although their zl2 has been too inconsistent this season to warrant a finals spot.

Norths were always going to be up and around the top 3, they are the most experienced team in the comp with Crabs. Bolwarra have a great young core to build around, I'd expect them to be playing at this level for a while, will challenge again, if not be one of the favourites next season.

I noticed this however I still feel like they are prone to fumbling. Probably because it's a young group. I don't see them making a dent in finals.

A straight red for a Minmi defender late in the game in reserves.

A very aggressive game in First Grade with people on the benches going back and forth, a Minmi player being pushed through the bench and onto cricket pitch, and a lot of sledging on the field from both sides, and both sides picking up some injuries, they long layoff hasnt helped the ageing bodies.
