Any word on when they announce any new PYL teams. It was meant to be a few weeks ago if you go off what Northern posted as a timeline
Being announced today apparently

So we have a few clubs in div 3 severly struggling to find players to compete at level. Where does Dudley go find their players?

They are one of the biggest junior clubs in town. I have heard they have over 800 registered juniors last year. So I?m guessing a bulk from there

Looking at the map, Charlestown has a decent junior base as does Belmont. Kahibah isnt far away though.

I think most people would agree there are enough talented girls in the region to expand the current number of teams.
So I struggle to understand the logic of Macquarie Football not supporting Valentine's PYLG submission yet supporting Kahibah's?
As stated above, Kahibah is already on the doorstep of other clubs, yet Macquarie Football's objection was that Valentine would be cannibalizing other clubs?
In all fairness though, I think a smarter direction would have been to expand the existing club licenses to include at least U14's girls as a first step, potentially 16's (or delay a year or 2) and pushing U17's out to U18's. Clubs having to release 1/2 their 13's each year as they progress to 15's is just a sure fire way of losing players from the game altogether.

They only need Youth if they are going to be promoted to NPL

My understanding is that Valentine didn't ask for endorsement from Macquarie, they just sent an email informing Macquarie that they would be applying. Macquarie aren't going to chase up or respond as there was no request made, just sit on that email.

Belswans youth on the verge of going up to Div 1 to start next year.To be fair they should have done it last year. After a very rough start they have done really well.

How many girls games do you go and watch? there are a few, but you have to know which divisions to watch and a lot of the real young ones play up quite a few ages or in AAW, If there wasn't a gap between YL girls and community you'd know where they are, theres no structure for the girls as there is with multiple divisions of youth league so you can't really say you know what the talent pool is or isn't.

This level of pettiness is exactly why Football administration in Australia is a joke.

Ive seen every level & for me & its struggle st. Some of the Jets girls are good but the gulf falls off very quickly. Ive seen mid to high NPL gilrs yth games where it looks like they're playing with their opposite foot. Its just an honest view and now ill wait for the usual offended Lefties on here to crucify this honest opinion.
But.. If we arent comparing quality of athletes.... I'm Happy there are opportunities for everyone to get out there, have a go and hit their best at any activity.

Hope these games get played this weekend. Already lost a round of football.
Interestlying most clubs are football only pitches so games should be played where possible if the grounds are a little damp.

Any idea whats happening with the positional play off games (5v6 7v8)?
Also where the semi finals will be played?
Seems to be a delay in confirming given that the clubs would need to prepare/ keep teams training if they didnt make semis

Yes,double headers are on this weekend for some clubs.I thought semi finals were home and away legs so depending on positions they cant allocate grounds.

The addition of the U/14?s is a must, clubs go through a cycle every two years where one year they have to loose half a team of players. And it?s a big ask for the girls going into 13?s some playing on a big field for the first time, to adjust to it in one year then the following year be asked to play in an U/15?s team. The more years we can keep players in the system the better. The quality is getting better for the most part each year.

Our flintstones Communication systems between entities of grounds, councils & clubs etc would be a nightmare trying to get things changed at short notice

The two clubs that my sons play at haven't trained at their respective fields for a month. The last midweek catch up game played on a grass pitch was Valo vs Edgy on 22-23-24 July (these games were postponed due to Edgeworth's goalkeepers being at Nationals). Olympic youth have been able to schedule 2 single games at LMRFF since 24 July according to Squadi. No one else has had the opportunity to play any make up games.
If the respective home grounds are closed by council, there isn't exactly much that can be done. Keep in mind two weeks of JDL have been cancelled at LMRFF to allow the NPL & NL1 seasons to be completed. It's not as if clubs have had much opportunity.
We all know the answer is more synthetic pitches, but the issue remains that there is nowhere to put them, even if NNSWF decide to dip in to their $12m in retained funds to build them.

I agree they should have arranged make up games earlier.
But I honestly can't see the issue in playing up until Wed next week. Looks like the problem is arranging semis at a short notice, but then they are encouraging clubs to organise make up games this weekend... at a short notice. Make it make sense.
Bottom line is, we are paying full price for a twice shortened season, while also missing heaps of training sessions.
So much for player development.

Looks like the extra 5v6 and 7v8 games have been a hit  a number of the games have already been abandoned for this weekend, I can only assume the club couldnt get enough support from the players, Im not suprised.

That was not the greatest idea but at least there was an attempt to get the kids on the park.
Need at least 25 games for youth development IMO.

The best idea would've been for Northern to follow their own rules and use PPG for Phase 1, even more so considering the additional 3 weeks and matches played saw no change as to which clubs were in which division.
The the full 14 round Phase 2 could've been played and these games that weren't played in the past 2-3 weeks could've all been caught up mid week in this dry September.
It's poor that some clubs are wholesale refusing to play these games, while not ideal at least a bit of a match and kick around for the kids, actually enjoy it without worry for any wins or points or trying to make finals. Though I can understand why some North Coast and NIAS teams refused to travel a long distance for a nothing game.

Not sure it was North Coast who 'refused to travel'. I know in the 15s and 16s it was Maitland that pulled the pin. I wasn't complaining though.

I was replying about a single weekend game not the season as a whole.
Northern shat their pants and totally screwed up the season.
They need to sack themselves and give the job to someone who has some fortitiude to get the season fully played and develop youth properly with over 25 games.
I & many others could do a better job but they only want their mates in the role.

we can do better. Still need another general synth pitch

Northern could grow some balls and force the use of their fields mid-week as well. Even worse when the home team says they can't play a catch up game because their field is too wet but that same club is using a synthetic field for training for 2 hours.

My understanding is that when we (Cooks Hill ) had to cancel our 1st leg hosting (the weekend before last) and that round of semi's would jump the 2nd leg (just played) and be played this weekend instead.
A wet weather weekend was factored into the draw.
I believe we've been approached to host the Grand Finals too, but other clubs may also have been contacted - all pending availability, volunteers etc.

Bizarrely, League B is being played on the Sunday at Fearnley Daws. It's usually League A being played on the Sunday since League A is meant to the top League and thus are the last ones played.
